I really want Henry to be the guardian, because it fits with prophecy and would tie up “the boy will be your undoing” from Season 2 – it’s always bothered me they never came back to that.

She has done some sneaky things. They could have easily gone that route if they really wanted to. Now, it’s just funny to bring up every now and again whenever Blue is in an episode.
thedarkonedearieParticipantYeah it’s not going to be Drizella. It’s not Regina or Rumple bc they were cursed at the start. Henry is a good guess. I’ll say it’s Gothel.

That is why Drizella, Tremaine, Gothel, and even Alice who had her memories for a little bit, have become more interesting because we are actually learning something about them, whereas with Ella and Sabine and even Henry, they are all just cursed and their behavior is meaningless. Even the new Henry has not been developed properly at all in the Enchanted forest where it is actually him. Henry is just bland and weirdly attracted to Ella for seemingly no reason at all and has become somewhere between slightly boring to just annoying to me at this point. They need to make me care about the characters and they need to do that by making me want to figure them out, by developing them, by showing us why Henry likes Ella, by showing her stand up for her friends and for Henry and for Lucy, not by showing her constantly getting walked all over by the bad guys.
Ella is a bad character no doubt. But I’ve enjoyed the twist they have given us so far, mainly because I can’t guess them. The last few seasons were so predictable. The fact that Tremaine could be Rapunzel and the witch was Gothel and Alice was Hook;s daughter…..unless you saw filming photos, you would never have guessed these things. Character development has been on the poor side for sure but I guess I don’t feel like it is as bad as you are saying it is. Given there has only been 8 episodes, I feel like I have a good idea of what Tremaine is like and what she wants, same with Drizella, same with Rumple. Ella and Sabine are atrocious though. And perhaps it is because they are cursed and haven’t woken up. I also feel there is just a lot going on and they are stuffing as much in as possible before they get canned. You have Henry and Ella’s story, the course and who cast it, Hook and his daughter Alice, Rumple finding the guardian so he can be with Belle, Drizella getting revenge on her mother, Victoria bringing back the only daughter she ever loved, Regina trying to prevent true love’s kiss to break the curse so Henry won’t die, the food truck, now Jacinda’s cursed old flame (Jack) is back in the picture for a love triangle….I mean there is a lot going on. Definitely can’t say it is boring.
thedarkonedearieParticipantUnlike last episode, I have high hopes for this one. We’ll see if it delivers. Lana Parilla will no doubt carry the episode regardless.
thedarkonedearieParticipant–Roni just happens to open a locker that has a picture of her and Young!Henry in it? Sure. That’s not overly convenient at all.
I’m pretty sure the photo was sticking out of the locker when it was closed.
Overall: 6/10
This episode was blah for me. I don’t really care for Tiana, at least not yet. Facilier was cool….I just hope we see him more later on. I thought the acting wasn’t that great in this episode. Jacinda was particularly bad again this week. I need to see more Alice, more Drizella, more creepy witch…and start getting some reveals soon…like who Rapunzel is and where Mother Gothel is and who cast the curse. Drizella being awake was a nice twist. The frog thing was so corny…but I didn’t hate it..idk. The episode was mostly filler.
thedarkonedearieParticipantAll the Alice references too….
“We’re all mad here.”
“Who are you?”
“The doormouse”
etc. etc. etc.
thedarkonedearieParticipantWe got a bit more character development on Ivy tonight, even if it was a bit what we expected. She longs for her mother approval above all else but is lonely. Will she and Henry strike up a cursed!relationship? What makes her so desperate for Victoria’s approval?
Is this not almost the exact same plot line in season 1 when David continued a cursed relationship with Katherine and Snow was miserable. Now it’s Ivy and Henry and Jacinda will be miserable. Before we know it, Ivy is going to go missing and everyone is going to blame Jacinda lol
thedarkonedearieParticipantYeah for years the writers have been accused of hating Belle/hating Rumbelle because of the abuse and poor stories hurled at them but when compared side by side the supposed “favorite” ship…. the episodes speak volumes.
Well to speak to this, they didn’t want to kill Emma off. They wanted Emma and Hook to live their life without any death. And then they had to come up with a convoluted way to keep Hook around bc they weren’t done with Colin yet. So yeah the stories are going to be different. I guess I just feel like the writers had more to work with in regards to Belle and Rumple than Hook and Emma. I don’t necessarily believe that these episodes prove that the writers’ had a favorite ship. That seems a little much.
thedarkonedearieParticipantYeah, there’s definitely a lot of questions surrounding this “guardian” and such. My thought is that Rumple told Alice to try to jog his memories with the tea cup first. If that didn’t work, he told her to shoot him. When he didn’t die, because he’s immortal as the Dark One, that would jog his memories for sure.
Right, but Belle had to die in order for him to escape the dark one magic right? And now we just don’t know what that magic is? Just that it has to do with the guardian?
