Oded Fehr is a good enough actor that I’m going to give him a try (I do actually really like him in other stuff). But might recommend another go of WL? Once you get to episode 8, it’s really (really) very good and the back half, 9-13, is simply fantastic.

Well now I don’t know if I want to watch it knowing another actor is playing Jafar haha.  Especially if Naveen did a great job with it.  But also, I don’t love the idea of watching a show that got cancelled early.  Was there a definitive ending?  Like did the writers sort of know the end was coming and then sum it up?  I’d hate to give it another try only to want more and be disappointed questions weren’t answered.

I guess I’ll chime in here.  So I watched the first couple episodes of OUAT in Wonderland.  Didn’t really care for it.  So I stopped.  As a result, this recast doesn’t bother me one bit.  And while many people on here seem to adore OUAT in Wonderland, at the end of the day, it was a one season show that did horribly and got cancelled, regardless of the quality of the show.  So it’s not surprising that A&E felt it was ok to recast him.  But just because they recast him, doesn’t mean his story from the other show isn’t canon.  It’s just like Daario from GoT.  Except that to me was worse because it was the same show.  Jafar at least was only on the failed spin off show.  And I like Naveen as much as the next person, but I thought this new guy did quite well with the part and I’m very intrigued.

Plus this was like the last major, popular villain from Disney that hadn’t appeared on OUAT so I would have been majorly disappointing if they never used him just because he was on the spinoff show, and Naveen wasn’t available.

Also I think I read somewhere that the writers said they need to still get to the Aladdin and Jafar stuff, but that we likely won’t get there til the back half of the season.  Which if that’s the case, it sounds like they will play a role towards the end of this season and then be the major focus for the final season next year.  Or at least that’s my guess.  You don’t just tie Aladdin in with the Savior and introduce an iconic villain and not make them part of the end game.  I could easily see a situation similar to season 2 where we are getting smaller story lines in storybrooke for the first half of the season, but then halfway through Jafar makes his way to storybrooke (similarly to Cora).

Yeah I meant I haven’t seen that they are bringing back the actor who played Thomas.  I’m trying to figure out what flashbacks they would show if he wasn’t part of them.

Have we heard anything about bringing back Prince Thomas?

Well I wouldn’t mind her reverting. After all, the feud between her and Dorothy is not over, and I don’t see any full redemption from her yet (maybe never). And to be honest, I prefer the villains as traditional bad guys, cause they are more thrilling that way.

For me, Zelena came too far last half season to have her revert back to her wicked ways.  The whole arc, when you think about it, sort of was centered on her.  I mean sure, the whole thing revolved around saving Hook, but the meat of the story was Zelena and Regina getting to say goodbye to Cora, her falling in love with Hades, her struggle with wanting to be good and wanting what’s best for her child, and then ultimately being the one who chose her sister over her love.  And then she killed the villain of the arc.  And then the moment the sisters shared after that moment was quite something and for her to revert back to her bad self, would just undo everything I never thought they could accomplish: redeeming Zelena.  No, no, no please no.  If anything, make it her split self.  That would be fine because similarly with Regina, the writers can have their cake and eat it too.

How Thomas disappeared after Cinderella got out of her contract with Rumple has been a mystery since season one. So, it’d be nice if the writers were finally getting back to it (albeit 5 seasons late).

Totally forgot about this.  Like what on earth was up with that?

I honestly can’t tell you because I was too busy thinking “plz don’t have sex in the woods; plz don’t have sex in the woods”

And…then they had sex in the woods

Love this.  They are really trying for that season 1 vibe.

Yeah I’m going to agree with you guys.  This was the best episode so far.  I literally had the same reaction Rumple’s Girl had.  How on Earth can they pull THIS off, but then give me Ruby Slippers?  I feel like I completely understand Drew and all it took was one heart-felt amazing episode.

And I still don’t find the actor that plays Blair to be annoying.  In fact, I too kind of like Blair.  And again as RG put it, they toned him down a bit which I appreciate.

Big weird hand in water?  Ok….  Deb doing Joel in the woods?  Ok…. I also have no idea where they are going with here.  Did Deb say that her great grandfather or whatever is that creepy piano playing back guy that’s been hovering around (aka the tall man).  Did she not say Joel reminded her of him?  I may have misheard this part, but if that’s true, that is a small reveal for Deb’s character.

And I always assumed the “demon spirit” was the tall man.  With the creepy ritual guys grabbing his bones and what not, I thought they were trying to bring HIM back.  But with this big hand coming out of the water and what not, is the tall man just trying to resurrect this “demon” too?  And what if they do?  What’s the point of all of this?  Does the demon just kill everybody?  I’m not getting the overarching motivation here, and it’s something they need to address soon.

Side note: They had the demon be able to possess the worst actress on the show– because she can portray dull-faced with no emotion so well haha.
