ParticipantHispanic is an ethnicity and not a race. Over 50 percent of US Hispanics consider themselves to be caucasian. Nicole Munoz’ ethnicity is Canadian and she is caucasian. Her Canadian ethnicity doesn’t mean that a Canadian has to play an older Lily nor does it make the character Lily Canadian anymore than it makes her Hispanic.

ParticipantHmmmm……Flash Sideways, another reality, like in LOST?
A concept is an abstraction or generalization from experience or the result of a transformation of existing concepts. The concept reifies all of its actual or potential instances whether these are things in the real world or other ideas.

ParticipantSlurpeez, a little more hope for Asimov. Seems the Isaac Newton that marriad S.E. Gorin was a different Isaac Newton than the renowned one. The latter never married.

ParticipantThe Author & Cruella drew me back. Can’t tell you how excited and thrilled I was to see you post about Asimov. 🙂

ParticipantLOST had the Valenzetti Equation which was loosely based on Asimov’s Foundation Series. the Valenzetti Equation basically predicted the end of humanity thus the numbers 4, 8, 15, 16, 23, and 42 always being transmitted.
That’s really interesting! Having never watched Lost, I’m always interested to know what influence it may have had on A&E. Knowing now that Asimov may really have been an influence on these writers leads me to put more stock in my own theory about the Author’s last name being Asimov.
It’s a great theory Slurpeez and it certainly looks like a real possibility. 🙂
When Gypsy (Misty) and I found out The Author’s first name was Isaac, and I read Katrina’s Tan tweet over on Twitter, we immediately thought of Asimov. However, we’ve now thinking it’s more likely going to be Newton, despite Kat’s tweet.
Interesting! You and Gypsy were so clever to guess Dr. Whale’s identity based on his name! So knowing your first guesses about the Author’s surname being Asimov leads me to hope my own guess could be right! But your reasons for supposing it could be Newton also have me second guessing myself.
If it’s one or the other we can happy knowing that we dropped it down to the two of them. Great research btw on Asimov and believing that his Foundations Series would tie into A&E. Isn’t it nice to have some real meat to dig our theorizing teeth into again? 🙂

We know that the casting call name used for Isaac/The Author was originally Gorin. Well, Isaac Newton’s wife’s maiden name was Gorin – Susan Elizabeth Gorin. Seems Newton is the likely candidate when you consider that not only was he a mathematician and physicist, he was also an author and he was also into astronomy & alchemy.
A few other things stood out for us. When we think of The Theory of Gravity we also think of the song Defying Gravity from the musical play Wicked. He also developed his theory based on watching an apple fall from a tree. There was a lot of media attention given last year about England trying to preserve ten special trees. Two particular trees were one that inspired Newton’s theory and one in Sherwood Forest that supposedly sheltered Robin Hood.

ParticipantWow! The clues that Zelena is Marian jump right out at you in this last sneak peek. Notice the white horse, which is a nod to ‘a horse of a different colour’ and then all the black & white segments thrown in with the colour segments. You can see it in the backbground with the crowds but especially with Robin’s hand when he’s got the thief down on the ground. WofOz was black & white until Dorothy touched down. 🙂

ParticipantBut, does she really have her happy ending or is it just temporary, like Rumple & Reggie’s or now possibly Hook’s? Regardless of what Ariel said, can any villain really have a Happy Ending as long as Emma is the Saviour?

ParticipantLoved: Reggie as EQ telling herself in the mirror that she missed herself.
David hitting Snow with the one liner about Dr. Whale.
Jail fight scenes between Snow & EQ.
Henry’s “home alone” scene using marbles to trip up Hook.
Young Emma was so convincing. Only wished they had used this actor and another young male actor to play Emma & Neal back in Season 2.
Granny giving Hook the dirty eye while prepping her cross bow. Gotta love Granny!
Ingrid’s redemption. Beautifully done!
Dislikes: Emma’s over reaction to meeting Ingrid in the Ice Cream Parlor. Over acted and nothing like Emma when she first came to SB.
Having Ingrid die. She really added something that was missing to this show. A new villain that we all could love.
Not seeing much of the supportive characters that we all miss & love.
Don’t like Rumple’s storyline at all. Where the heck are they going with him? So contrary to the character we know & love. I’ll leave that to another thread.
Promo showing another 11 week story arc coming up. Really tired of all the new characters they are introducing. How about we get back to the supporting characters we grew to love in S1 and start building a story line around them?

ParticipantSQ ending up in the real world, as a watcher/protector of Emma, just defeats the whole purpose of the DC. If Rumple had the capability of sending SQ, why wouldn’t he have just gone himself? I sure hope they don’t try to force feed this scenario down our throats.
I’m remembering a scene, back in S1x12, Skin Deep, when Gold was locked up in jail. He had just gotten his memories back. Emma offers him half her sandwich & he declines. Reggie shows up with Henry and suggests that maybe Emma take him for an ice cream. Right as Emma is leaving, Gold asks her to bring him back a cone. Probably random, but you never know…….
