Yeah, there’s still the chance that everyone is way off with assuming that Bae should be Neal’s age. There have been some theories suggesting that Bae may have grown old and died already, and we may meet his son, or even grandson, as opposed to ever seeing an adult Bae. I dunno if they’d go that route though, because pretty much all the fans are dying to see an adult Bae, and would feel cheated if we don’t get him.
In my original theory I’d figured that Bae/Pan had one day decided to stay in our world, possibly out of fear of Hook. But now that we’ve seen that apparently other realms were affected by the curse, I think it may just be a simple case of him having been on a visit to our world at the time the curse struck, and an affect of it was that he could no longer get back to Neverland in his usual manner. That would mean that he and Emma and everyone else all got stuck in our world at the same time, and if that’s the point where he began ageing again, then that’d explain how he ended up being the age Neal is now.
Gold assumed that August was his son so that sort of implies that Gold is expecting an adult male and not a 14 year old boy. I’m banking on Neal being Bae and keeping fingers crossed that he’s Peter as well.

ParticipantRegarding the typewriter writing stories in real time. I do like that Phee, the only thing that has me questioning this is that prior to Emma arriving in SB, there was no magic in our world. We know exactly when she got her magic. The moment she stepped out of the car and set foot on the ground in SB. We saw the sparks fly and hydro boxes blown. So before this, where would the typewriter have gotten it’s magic? Where would it have come? It’s looks to be from around the 1940’s.
On the other hand, if there was no magic in our world until Emma, we have to wonder how Dorothy would have gotten to Oz or how Alice had gotten to Wonderland if there weren’t some sort of magic allowing a port there.
Love the thoughts on The NeverEnding Story. I think of it when looking at what remains of the Enchanted Forest. Almost like that little bit of Fantasia that is left and it’s up to Bastian to do what he dreams and call out the empress’s name “Moonchild” to save it or rebuild it.
This whole series is so similar to it. A world that mixes both magic & reality together. The movie would have made quite the impression on two young boys at the time, by the names of Kitsis & Horowitz. Wouldn’t it be great if we see Falkor? Everybody loves Falkor! ๐

I just remembered something. Remember how there was a deleted scene from I think it was either Hat Trick or The stranger with August and Jefferson and they never released it, even on the DVD. Put that together with the Cleaners & Hatters sign in Neal’s room and maybe you have some sort of information network? I’m just saying. I mean we are going on and on about how it might be the BF pulling the strings, but we keep frogetting that Jefferson remembered everything. Maybe he always knew more then it was letting on; i mean he did work closely with both Rumple and Regina.
@Phee wrote:
I wanted to slap them for not having that deleted scene on the dvd! ๐ Though Jefferson remembered, I wonder if he was really in a position in SB to do anything with his knowledge? He wouldn’t have been aware of Pinocchio’s part in the story, so couldn’t have sought out August in our world, it’d have to have been the other way around. But how would August know that Jefferson was someone in SB with his memories intact? If they did have dealings, I’m still gonna guess that it was Blue who put them in contact with each other.
There’s gotta be some reason they had a dirty great big sign in Neal’s apartment that screamed, “HATTERS”. Perhaps the connection is simply that both he and Jefferson knew the truth, but didn’t necessarily know each other. But there’s always the possibility that there could be a deeper connection.
Faux Pax & Phee, great thoughts!
Yes, the stills released from Hat Trick, where August was standing outside of Jefferson’s house. I remember that back then, anytime I tried to post on OUAT FB about those stills & theorize that August & Jefferson were in cahoots together, they would remove my posts. Another friend kept trying as well, same result. So, in my mind it meant one of two things. Either the writers changed their minds and went in a completely different direction OR there is most definitely a connection that they’ve decided to hold off showing the fans.
We know Jefferson was trapped in his house for 28 years, that is, until Emma came to SB. He knows everything that has been going on though. How? A telescope will only take you so far. He tells Emma he knows about Henry & his storybook and knows that she refuses to believe in it. Was he spying & listening in on their conversations or did August tell him about Emma having to believe in the book? Did August first go to SB as a starting point, over 11 years ago, prior to finding Emma & Neal? Did he meet Jefferson then?
Jefferson realized then when Emma first arrived, things started changing, that she had magic. That I understand. However, how did he know so much about her being the actual saviour? He was pulled from Wonderland remember and wouldn’t have known. How did he know so much about the storybook and Emma having to believe in it? He kept telling her to “wake up”. Seems like he definitely had to have spoken to August or Blue.

ParticipantFaux Pax, you bring up an excellent point. Both Smee & Jefferson were aware of Rumple wanting to find a way into a world without magic. Hook & Milah certainly knew about Bae. So Rumple’s story about his lost son wasn’t as secretive as we all thought it was. Now I have to wonder how many knew about the dagger.

I don’t know whther or not they will introduce the character of Peter Pan into the series. Hook wanted revenge against Peter for cutting off his hand and throwing it to the crocodile yet in the series Rumple was the one to cut off his hand. If Peter Pan does exist in this show then what is Hook going to have against him?
He could use the kid as motivation for his revenge if said kid was Rumple’s son. If Bae hadn’t existed, Rumple might have let Milah go easier, and she might not have ended up dead. If Bae ends up in Neverland, he’d be a constant reminder to Hook of his lost love and how he lost her. That’s gonna create some animosity. And it wouldn’t be completely removed from the original story, because in the Onceiverse, Hook did lose his hand indirectly because of Bae. Rumple wouldn’t have been on that ship to slice Killian’s hand off if not for being motivated by his love for Bae.
Now the little extra bit I thought of…
If Bae had gone to Neverland, he was there before Hook was. Hook said he was going to Neverland so he could discover how to get his revenge on Rumple. Could he have figured out that Neverland is where Rumple’s son was, and was planning to use him as a weapon in his revenge plot somehow?Phee, I think you’re a genius! ๐ ๐ฎ Maybe Smee went to Killian because Killian & Milah were also looking for a magic bean. Maybe Milah wanted to find Bae after hearing about Rumple letting him go.
Only thing hanging me up lately is Neal’s age. Can we trust an FBI wanted poster? We saw a newspaper call August a “local boy” at one point and now know that was wrong. I just don’t know?? ๐

I posted it this in another thread but here it is again.
I just read on line that Jennifer Morrison was quoted as saying about Neal
“He obviously is posed with the possibility of coming back to Storybrooke because of the pigeon who brought him the little note. So I think definitely there's going to have to be a decision made on his part as to whether or not he decides to follow up on what he started 10 years ago.”
Hmmm… Why did she use the words COMING BACK TO instead of COMING TO? Did she let it slip that he already had traveled there?
That’s really something to think about Kallio ๐ฎ “coming back” vs “coming to”. Slip up or intentional. Oh, how I love/hate this series! ๐ ๐ฟ

ParticipantK&H had stated, in a previous interview, that we would meet Henry’s father in 2×06. I’m surprised how many people are still questioning that out there, but they are. ๐
Jane Espenson, during a live blog, stated this: that we should wonder why he hasn't already come to Storybrooke considering he'd gotten the postcard a while back. He's had lots of time to do so.
Could it be because as much as he loves Emma, he doesn’t want to run into Daddy Dearest?? โ

ETA: Someone or several people perhaps have already tweeted Jane Espenson with the correct answer. It could still be anything, but I’m hoping it was the drawing of the dagger in the box.
I don’t know where Jane Espenson said that someone tweeted the correct answer. I listened to her blog and I went through all of Sundays tweets. There were only 3 guesses. One was that it was a nude picture of Rumple! LOL! We can safely rule that out. A second one was the briefcase from Pulp Fiction. I don't think so. The third was mine, that I tweeted at 8pm E/T and I've copied it below. IF and only IF, she actually said that someone's tweet to her is correct, looks like the dagger is the winner. How it could be construed as big, little, red, shiny, new & a mystery, I don't know.

Just found this tweet from Jane Espenson where she confirms that the dreams are how David & Snow will communicate. I bet she feeds info to Aurora & David to Henry.

@JaneEspenson Are Henry and Aurora dreaming of each other? And if so, can this be used as a way for Snow and Charming to communicate?? #OUAT

Good point. and if you pay attention to the way he says “Magic is everywhere” it seems like telling a kid in our world that they were going to a world without water–just because they hated stromes, doesn’t mean they never played in a puddle.

-She said what was in the box was both a “big… shiny… red… mystery” and then a “little.. shiny… mystery”.
-She seemed to imply that a potential Regina-Love-Arc was going to happen in the future. I could see this sense Daniel told Regina to “love again.”
-She said it wasn't Pinocchio's/August's fault that he gave into temptation because “he's just built that way.”
-She implied that August went back for Emma because of guilt, not because of a directive from someone else, but left this open ended.
-She would only say Neal “believed quickly” but wouldn't disclose if he had a FTL connection or not; this was as far as she would describe his connection to the object in the box.
-She confirmed that Aurora and Henry had the same dream.
-The reason August didn't tell Emma about her destiny is that he “doesn't deal with responsibility well.”I agree with the poster that wrote this that it's either a heart, the picture of a dagger, or perhaps both right now.
Interesting about August doing so out of guilt and not because the Blue Fairy contacted him, but there's wiggle room there since she left the answer open ended.
Ok, don’t know where I’m going with all of this as my mind is racing right now, but I’ll throw some thoughts out there.

Hide conversation Reply Delete FavoriteI’m going to look at her other tweets from the night. When I read about it being BIG RED SHINY I automatically thought of the Rubbie Slippers.
So here is what I'm thinking. We know that Jefferson's hat could only port between magical worlds. Oz is a magical world. We also know that both Dorothy and the Wizard travelled between Oz and the real world. What if Blue contacted The Wizard and gave instructions to keep an eye out for Emma & Pino? What if The Wizard were the middle man, looking out for Emma during the curse? What if he got a hold of the Rubbie Slippers and showed those to Neal? What if Ethan is the Wizard of Oz & Barrett, and that is why he is now mysteriously showing up in Storybrooke?
Like I said, just random thoughts that started running through my mind when I read those spoilers. Going to check on Jane’s other Sunday tweets.
