The best theory I have seen yet is the picture of the dagger, even though I really hope it isn’t. Look at the box itself: was i the only one that noticed that it opened upside down? The deep part we normally think of as the box was used as the lid. That meant that the “box” part was only an inch or so deep, and from the brief glance we got from the side, i didn’t see anything over the edge. So far the best bet is a piece of paper.

I don’t know about that Faux Pax. Both Phee and I seem to agree that the typewriter was in the box. I froze the frame where he started to open it, you could see the outline of a typewriter. Still going with the picture of the dagger (was on it, then off it, now back on it lol). That is, until some other theory comes along that has a little more credence.

And again, this brings us back to shipping Bae (Neal) and Pino as Firewood. πŸ˜†

No. I’m pretty sure he took the money for his own reasons. Rewatch it and pay attention to his face when Neal hands him the money and he’s talking about how Emma won’t need the money. August knows this is another of the “temptations” he won’t be able to resist.

I can’t wait to see how this plays out when Neal tries to explain himself. August might want dismantle all the woodchippers in storybrooke before Neal shows up…

Yeah, agreed Faux Pax. Just noticed that now as I’m watching again. I retract my previous statement. 😳

Another thing I noticed. In Vancouver, when Neal & AWB meet up, AWB says to Neal, “Been awhile, where did you go?”. Neal replies, “I tried to lose myself, it didn’t work”. Lose as in Lost Boys? Lose as in Rumple saying his son was Lost to him? He can’t lose himself because AWB called him out. Running is fruitless.

Just adding unto the theory as many clues were displayed in Tallahassee.

Emma mentions Neverland while climbing the beanstalk. Hook mentions it as well as the Lost Boys.

Emma mentions Neverland in the motel. Neal tells Emma, “close your eyes and pick a place”. Peter Pan said to Wendy, “close your eyes…………..and you’ll see Neverland”.

August asked Neal, “Do you believe in magic?”. Peter Pan asked viewers, “Do you believe in fairies?”

Neal wore the same green hoody all throughout the episode. Peter Pan wore green. Bae wore a green cloak.

In Vancouver, August asks Neal “Been awhile, where did you go?” Neal replies “I tried to lose myself, it didn’t work.” Lose as in Lost boys or lose as in Rumple saying my son is LOST to me? Neal/Bae can’t run, he’ll always be found, either by Blue sending AWB or Rumple finding him later.

AntBee, she definitely had all her memories. That is why K&H said her curse was to be a nun who wanted to help people but was unable to because she lost her magic. Implies that she KNOWS she lost her magic, thus having all her memories. Yes, I believe she followed Bae’s whereabouts at all times. I believe that she manipulated the adoption and had outside assistance from August. Gold may have procured Henry for Reggie but Blue set the whole thing up without Gold knowing.

However, I will never believe that Blue is bad. As much as she has a snotty little attitude, she represents good in this story.

One thing is certain. They’ve certainly created tons of material for future themes & episodes that can carry us well into many seasons. We’ve got the Giant & Jack’s backstories; we’ve got Milah & Rumple’s backstories; we’ve got Victor Frankenstein & his brother’s backstories; and the list goes one. Talk about opening doors! πŸ˜€

I still can’t get over how many Peter Pan references there were in that episode. Emma mentions Neverland while climbing the beanstalk and Hooks talks about it and the Lost Boys. Emma mentions it again in the motel room. Neal tells her “Close your eyes and pick a spot”. Peter Pan said “Close your eyes………..and you’ll see Neverland.”. The dream catcher in the motel is the same one in Neal’s NY apartment. Screams out Tiger Lily to me. August asked Neal “Do you believe in magic?”. Peter pan asked viewers, all over the world, “Do you believe in Fairies?”. Funny how Neal kept wearing that same green hoody all throughout the episode. Peter wore green as did Bae, his green cloak.

When I re-watched the episode, it seems like it’s still the typewriter in the case. So yes, going back to what I said in the chat room last night. I believe it’s the picture of the dagger. Blue definitely had all her memories and knowledge of Bae’s whereabouts. She’s been calling all the shots.

@ Phee, great stuff! Love how you’re thinking πŸ™‚

Regarding the money. Two things strike me as funny. 1) How the guard felt she had to address the fact that there was nothing else in the envelope. I mean why even mention that unless you were guilty of removing something and trying to cover your tracks. 2) That was quite a large envelope for such a small item.

    Maybe we’re pre-judging August a little too harshly? I don’t know………sigh……..

I’m going to make you wait. You’re going to have to wait a long time and watch me carry it around. Hauling it to strange and mysterious places. And with each passing moment, the mystery will become more tantalizing. Your imagination will inflame, but so will your frustration. Never knowing – only guessing – what could possibly be inside that box?

…and then we were all relieved that he revealed the contents of the box in that same scene…but in the end, they still got us frustrated over the contents of that freaking box, the devious buggers. πŸ˜› πŸ˜†

I first thought it was a picture of the dagger but there is one nagging question that now bothers me. How would August know that Neal was Bae?

We know he later knew about Bae, possibly from encountering Bae out in the real world or getting his info from Blue. But how would he know back then that Neal was Bae?

See my post in the August thread. I just blabbed on for ages about how I think Blue was instructing August in this ep.

Gigi, sounds like we’re thinking along similar lines here. If it’s a page from the book, that Blue had written, and it was a page that related specifically to Neal, then that would convince him.

Will head over and read it now Phee. I think you and Gigi are right. K&H did say that Blue’s curse was to be in a position as a nun to help people but really unable to because she no longer has her magic. They never said she no longer had her memories. So I’m inclined to think that yes, she might have been in contact with AWB the whole time; she may have been following Bae’s path the whole time he was gone; and she may have been behind Henry’s adoption seemingly procured via Rumple. Mellie had an interesting thread where she suggested that Blue was the true puppet master. I do agree with that, only that she isn’t bad. As much as she is a wee bit of a snot, she is ultimately good.
