I understand that he’s angry but it seems like he was too willing to turn against her.

So I am going with both. His feelings of hurt and anger are true and genuiene but the darkness is amplifying it and he’s going along with it….with no effort to fight it….just going along with it…..

Why? Because plot needs him to? I would think Hook, if he really loved Emma and really changed would be far more against turning to darkness. It was literally a simple decision for him.

I absolutely loved him and honestly, am not surprised to see him go. Yet another POC bites the dust on this show. If Lancelot lives, I will be shocked, but then again he was never important anyway. Anywhoo, I hate the fact that he’s dead. I hate the reason that he died. I hate that Emma just turned him into dust in the wind. I hate everything about it and surrounding it.

I feel like the main reason they did so was because he’s too powerful to keep around, aside from his weakness of the Dark One being able to kill him.

But Merlin was currently powerless. He had no magic. That fixes that issue right there. Once the dark one situation was handled, there was no guarantee that Merlin would gain back his powers or something. They didn’t need to kill him.

I think that is exactly what would happen. And I would love it if it did happen that way. I think Emma still loves Neal and I think Hook still loves Mila.
I don’t trust the writers to write that properly if they did go that route but I think it’s be extremely interesting.

Perhaps PapaJones traded his life to save Young-Hook (again which would go along with what Megara did to save her ex beau, what Hercules almost did to save Meg’s soul from the river of souls, and what emma did when turned Hook into a Dark One). Lot’s of sacrifice and trading going on here. I guess someone tries to jib the god of death and he isn’t too happy about it.

I actually quite enjoyed Hook “doing the rumple”

But yeah. @Matt If Rump kills him he becomes the Dark One again….so I kind of want this to happen even more for those two reasons, seeing Hook and Rump getting his magic back. I wonder how it goes.
