So I presume, judging from the red and white words on the side, that it’ll say “Evil isn’t born, its made” with the black swan wings/face of dark emma thing going on.

Rumpel was himself with power, so i think Emma should still be herself with power. Lack of inhibition shouldn’t mean over sexualized at least for Emma.
The thing is i want Emma to feel dangerous. If she is putting her hands on her hips and popping a leg out and acting over sexualized that just doesn’t feel dangerous to me. That feels silly and cartoony. I want Emma to seem dangerous. The boots are the worst part as i said. I think the creepiest Emma has ever looked is just when she is stoic and hard so her outfit in black would have worked better for me, which this sort of is, but the boots are bad. This just doesn’t feel dangerous at all.
I dont think Emma will be any more sexualized than Rumpel or Regina or any other villain on this show. I think the thing is that villains always have a certain sexy flair to them. Really. Look at how every hero has dressed on this show versus how all the villains have. The villains have way better outfits. Emma was bound to bring it the moment thr darkness took her over. So yeah, if they’d put her in some tight short skirt with tons of skin exposed I’d get it, but Emma looks pretty… Decent in this outfit. But as I think this is just one of the outfits she will be wearing, I do agree, I hope they don’t go to far on the “Evil Is Sexy” trope. The shoes, to me, are badd****.

It’s still her, somewhere in there.
I just hope this arc allows us to explore Rumple’s journey instead of casting him and Belle aside as no longer important.
That’s a very interesting thought, Keb. I like that. I think i would have gotten it more if it were like the same style as her jacket, just more…spiked and evil and sharp looking but then again that’d probably look ridiculous. Honestly, i think its an OKAY outfit. It’s defiently not horrible, i think (as with most things on this show) we just expected more. I could get used to it though. Imagine Dark Swan marching down the streets of SB, dagger in hand, cape billowing behind her. THIS. WILL. BE. AMAZING. I guess that guy’s words are true: “Die a hero or live long enough to become a villain.” Usually in OUAT its the opposite. Either die a villain or live long enough for a redemption arc.

Yeah, I think at the very least this is just ONE of Emma’s future outfits. Eduardo is going to really bring out the big guns for Dark Swan Fashion! He has to!
1. The shoot was in April. The writers hadn’t even reconvened at that point to start writing S5.
They may not have written the actual S5 script at that point, but they knew what was going to happen by the end of S4. They did shoot a scene of Dark Emma secretly afterall.

Didn’t EW release pics of the queens of darknes, elsa, and Zelena all In costumes? I think they would specify for us if this was just a photo shoot for JMO instead of telling us it was a first look at the dark swan.

She looks very Lady Gaga-ish. I mean, I think her hair should be down, and more wild and unruly. She look a bit too pale, i would have preferred she’d had green-gold skin. I mean…. I like it. Whilst I agree it is probably Caskett, though I don’t watch that show, something just makes me think it could possibly refer to CaptainSwan.
Aside from the fact that CS haven’t had their shot of angst (unlike RumBelle and OutlawQueen), with Emma as the new dark one, it would make sense that a TLK would be attempted to remove the DO curse. Emma should retain her memories as Rumple did, therefore a TLK should work. However, since season 5 is picking up where it left off, it is too soon for Emma to not be the dark one, and they can’t keep Emma separated from the rest of the regulars for 11 episodes, which suggests that a TLK may not work between Emma and Hook as that would be the most obvious solution to try. So what could that mean for CS if they are not deemed true love?
completely plausible and believable. But there will always be excuses as to why it didn’t work. For example, people would cite the rumbelle kids from skin deep. It worked once never again for it take away rumpels power. Maybe its because he loved power more. If it a kiss were to happen between captain swan, that would be the explanation: Emma is I’m live with her power just like rump was. Blah blah blah.
