I think the reason was given in 4×11 when Belle declared that Rumple’s true love was power, not her. I think that could also explain why TLK stopped working in Skin Deep. Belle exclaimed the kiss was working, which caused Rumple to pull away. Rumple realized what was happening (i.e. his curse was being broken) and stubbornly clung to the magic, thereby choosing it, over Belle. As long as Rumple doesn’t want his curse broken (i.e. chooses his magic over his wife), TLK won’t work in any realm, SB or EF. Rumple must choose love over magic, once and for all, for his curse to be broken.

This….sounds absolutely great and plausible. I swear A&E just need to hand the show over to the fans, we could do it so much better.

But why does this make them see that he is really good on the inside? The only reason he’s helping is because he got screwed, not mention that the only reason the QoD are plaguing the town of SB is because Rumple brought them there in the first place

Because plot. Its rumpelstilstkin. They need him to be redeemed, they need him to be the hero again some way somehow, they wont just let him die a villain. Whatever it takes, him helping to defeat whatever evil plagues SB whether he brought it or not, im 100% sure will happen.

The writers have said that Rumple is the Big Bad, though. I find it more likely that he would betray the QOD.

Like I said above, he is Rumpelstiltskin, one of our main characters and one of the most popular characters of the show. He will be the Big Bad but he wont stay that way. He’ll come over to the good side. Eventually.

I don’t think it will be written very well but I am willing to be cookies this is how it will all play out.

Does Rumpel giving up his power even MEAN anything really? He may lose the dark one magic and immortality, but he still has 300 years worth of magical knowledge and an entire CASTLE full of magical items. I don’t think giving up the power of the dagger would be a major setback for him. Cora wasn’t a Dark One and she was powerful enough to apparently combat Rump so I think if he is gives up his magic he can still be tempted by power and all that stuff still and it wont really change much.

Anyway, this is how it will all go down this season:

–Rump brings QOD into SB to help him fnd the Author or sorcerer or whomever

–They betray Rump.

–Some kind of bigger threat arises.

— Rump helps the heroes defeat both the queens and the bigger threat making Belle and co believe he really is good on the inside.

— TLK.

Perhaps the character of the author and/or the sorcerer has not been cast because they do not need to. Maybe we have already met both of them, if they are separate. For example, as @Slurpeez said, the author could be the BF (or someone else), and the sorcerer could be the BF or someone else.

I cant remember if it was the sorcerer or the author, but I know A&E said we hadn’t met one of them as in its not someone we know. Cant recall from where and I could be wrong, but yeah.

I can’t think of anything off the top of my head but I liked Zelena’s outfit in this episode. This is exactly how I would have expected the wicked witch to be dressed in modern day and I liked this out of all her other outfits in SB. She dressed way too old fashioned at times. But this outfit was sexy and witchy at the same time.

Except for why would we need to see Lily again? I get the feeling after Emma turned her back on Lily, that was the last time she saw her. They didn’t resume their friendship.

Lily could be:

— The daughter of the sorcerer

–The black fairy

— The child of the black fairy

— The Author

— RH/Regina’s daughter from an AU

There are tons of possibilities.

Well the characters or the audience don’t even know if the Author and Sorcerer are the same person

Here’s an interview question with A&E from awhile ago:

EW: Are you definitively saying that the Sorcerer is the storybook Author?
ADAM HOROWITZ: We are not definitively saying anything other than you will know who the author is pretty soon after we return.

Have you cast the Sorcerer? Is this a character we’ll be seeing?
HOROWITZ: The character of the Sorcerer we have not cast. The Sorcerer and/or Author will be met within the second half of the season.

Here is what I get from this:

1) Author is revealed very early on and

2) Sorcerer isn’t revealed until later on because, obviously, he wasn’t casted yet at that time.

I don’t think they can be the same person if this is the case. But ya know, idk. This was from December and I think a few episodes had been filmed already sooo…. *Watcher loses her train of thought*…..

Maybe RH met the merrymen AFTER he met Marian and encountered Belle and Rumpel. So basically like this:

–Tom Ellis RH encounteres Rump, steals the wand, saves Marian, etc.

— Sean Maguire RH takes his identity

— Sean Maguire RH meets Merrymen

–Sean Maguire RH meets Will (Don’t knw why, just thought id bring that up)
