. My thoughts too. I’ll go a little farther and say this is the episode where Sydney says to Regina, “I’m done with you.” And he realizes that Regina doesn’t really love him and refuses to help her. I really want Sydney to have some kind of epiphany that Regina doesn’t love him

I’d like to see this too. Perhaps Sidney is the broken mirror. He’s the broken-HEARTED mirror (see what I did there). Now that he is free, not a mirror, and possibly has his magic back or atleast knowledge of magic like Cyrus did, I wonder exactly what actions he will take against Regina. Will he rage against her as some love scorned genie? Will he bend to her will because he loves her too much still after knowing she played him like a violin? Will he help whoever turns out to be the bad guy? In the end, I’m sure Sydney leads us to Jafar. One hope is this…. I hope it doesn’t lead to some Regina/Robin/Sydney triangle.

Keep Neal alive, have him be a father/son/friend, and have your CS if that’s what it takes for the network to be happy. But killing Neal in such a idiotic way, with no buildup, no answers to questions (and then teasing us with his return for the rest of the season)…that’s on A and E.

This. All of this. People just don’t get it. We are not upset because SF ship didn’t sail. Neal. Is. More. Than. A. Ship! His death effects more than Emma. If A&E want CS, whatever (they would still have to work on alot of things in order for me to see that travesty as an acceptable relationship but thats another story). But why take away a father from his son? A son from his father? Neal and Henry got virtually no true bonding time. If only people would understand that. Let them talk all they will about how we are being Debby downers. So be it. We have good reason to mourn because Neal meant more to than a ship 🙂

When they brought Sidney back, I figured there was gonna be some parallel whatever between Regina and her bad Mirror and the Snow Queen and the mirrors in that story.

THIS. FRIGGIN. POST. I bolded a few things I think need to be outlined for some >>

I didn’t ship SwanFire because I was looking forward to Emma and Neal having a pretty wedding or because I have a crush on MRJ.
I shipped SwanFire because it was the logical bookend to a series that was defined by Rumple trying to fix the mistake of choosing power over his son.

This show began with Rumple.
The earliest flashbacks are to his childhood.
The series should have ended with his son living Happily Ever After.
The series should have ended with Henry, Rumple’s grandson, being allowed to have his mother(s) and his father.

Why pair Bae/Neal with Emma?
Not only did they happen to meet and fall in love in this huge world, they are the two people who suffered the most from Rumple’s mistakes.
They both defined themselves by the belief that they were abandoned by their parents.
They both don’t really belong in this world.
The have a son.
They were True Loves and Soul Mates.
I shipped SwanFire because I always believe in the most simple elegant solution.
The child Rumple lost due to his cursed mistake (Bae), and the child that was created to remedy that mistake (Emma) match.
It was perfect.
It made sense.
They and Henry are the three new central fairy tale characters that were created for this show.
Emma and Neal/Bae were both good people who deserved a happy ending.
They deserved to live Happily Ever After.
They deserved to live Happily Ever After TOGETHER.
A&E, you took Rumple’s son. And you told us that Rumple would NOT be able to get him back.

After the mystery of season one’s “BaeWatch” (remember the good old days?), after season two’s introduction of the mystery man who we all deduced was both Bae and Henry’s Father, after everything, for three years, you killed Bae for nothing.

I’m disgusted by Neal’s death because by killing Rumple’s son, in the middle of the third season and while surely renewed for a fourth, A&E undermined the premise of the series. I’m not done with the show because my ship was sunk, I’m done with the show because I think A&E simply aren’t very good storytellers. I’m done with the show because I don’t think A&E are good Showrunners. I don’t think they have the plotting skills or emotional intelligence to warrant spending any more time watching Once Upon a Time.

By failing to grasp how important Bae/Neal was to the central arc of the series and to Rumpelstiltskin, they have ruined their show. Short of backtracking and finding a loophole to bring Bae/Neal back from the dead, they have negated the curse’s reason for being cast.

Rumple reuniting with Bae was in the DNA of Once Upon a Time. Losing him forever, for me, is the end of Once Upon a Time.

There is no reason for me to want to watch any new episodes.

I simply no longer care.

Neal was more than just part of some ship. He means TONS more than that. He isn’t just an important figure for Emma, but also for Rumpel and Henry. Us being upset over his death isn’t just about a ship. Its about the nature of the show. And without Neal, the show is just…downhill.

the only reason I still hang on is for the novelty of live action Disney tales. Its lost all other meaning than that. It USED to be a on the road to being a real life fairytale with REALISTIC characters. With NEW UNESTABLISHED characters. But hey, I guess pirates pirated the plot of the show.

Which is, when you think about it, kind of cruel. As for the rest of your post, those are my exact feelings too. I’ve always felt that A&E were/are most likely as happy about having to make CS happen as much as the rest of are. The writing was crappy because their hearts weren’t in it. SF was beautiful because that’s the story they were passionate about telling. I truly believe if ABC hadn’t stuck their nose where it didn’t belong, Once probably wouldn’t have gone down hill as much and as fast as it did. That is, not if they had let SF unfold the way it was supposed to

I’m curious if CS fans think the show has gone downhill as much as we do or if they think its only gotten better since CS became official and all

I’ve been saying for quite awhile now since 3×15 that I believe that the original tale that Adam & Eddy wanted to tell us of was of course SwanFire & their son Henry

No one can ever tell me different. Those who can’t see that are just….*shrug*

Which was in my estimation a modern day fairytale the children of & grandchild of iconic fairytale characters

I still do not believe in the whole dead is dead thing even where our beloved Neal/Baelfire is concerned

  I too am holding hope that they are just pulling our chains and that there are some really big plans in store to bring back Neal. Gotta have hope. I waited three seasons of TrueBlood to see my OTP (Jessica/Hoyt) be reunited after they’d said he was gone for good. But now they are back together and even made good tacos 🙂 HAVE FAITH!!! WE MUST ALL HAVE FAITH! THE PHEONIX WILL RISE AGAIN!!!
