I have/had a theory quite similar, except it involves Emma still being in jail, fantasizing about the son she gave up and being reunited with him, and the life he has lived without her, etc. Everything she has fantasized is what we have seen basically and the final shot could be Neal visiting her in jail…. Which may or may not be revealed to be an insane asylum 😛 anyway, I feel a lot of people would get upset if it all was a dream. But hey, thats bold storytelling. A&E once say that OUAT wasn’t a dream, but they also said that time travel didn’t exist in the Once-verse. So *shrug*

Timon and Pumbaa I could see together romantically. As for Tweedle #2…. Are we sure his “brother” was really his biological brother >_> cause I could see those two as a coupling. But then again, the tweedles are brothers in the original Alice story (right?) so maybe I’m just wrong.

There HAS been plenty of tension between Emma & Regina in the last few eps – like their little moment where Emma told her she always knows when she’s lying – so it’d hardly be out of left field.

As in input here, I think most of the evidence for SQ isn’t as…potent as SQ shippers think it is. With this for example, I know multiple people that I can recognize instantly when they are lying. Or stealing (yep it happens) and I’m not romantically attracted to any of them. So while this may seem like something to some, for others its just Emma saying she can recognize a lie. Which she’s done with a ton of people since S1.

I think if A&E ever do decide to deliberately put in some sexual tension between Emma and Regina, it needs to be a lot stronger. A hug, for example, where one of them looks at the other for a moment longer than one would expect, or one if their hands lowers down slightly more than you’d think two friends hands would be if they hug, know what I mean?

I’m pretty sure Disney would let them do it. It would bring in a lot of attention for the show, the character, and the movie. I’m sure it would be all over the internet and the news even. It would be a pretty big deal and I think a lot of people would be happy to see it 🙂

I know these things. But when it comes down to Ariel, SHE is the Disney version of it, not the original. In the Disney, she doesn’t die, she gets the guy, she lives happily ever after. I mean, I’m a pretty dark person, if they wanted to go with the death and unhappy ending, id have enjoyed it slightly 😛 but I digress. OUAT has mostly been playing in the Disney side of the field., if they want to make MAJOR changes, then they shouldn’t get peoples hopes up for the Disney version and use the original or generic version. We could have same sex Disney couplings. Why can’t Elsa or Merida have a homosexual relationship? It would contridict nothing Disney that we’ve seen in their film and a lot of people would want to see it because both Elsa and Merida are thought to be lesbians for whatever reasons (I think just because they don’t get males in there films). I can see Aladdin being gay, and so long as his TL js a male version of the sultans daughter, then id be fine. Thats the heart if my argument. Keep our Disney couples together… And if for the sake of showing a great sane sex relationship, that means turning a female character into a male or a male character into a female, that’s be fine. That, or just give a same sex relationship to character who had no pairing at all in their film. Like Archie. Or Sebastian (who I might add had a very subtle sexual moment in the musical with some kind of…fish? “You gotta put ur back into it *thrusting movement* xD”)

Keeping a Disney pairing and just gender bendering one character is fine with me. I just feel all the Disney couples should be together and stay together. I’m sure Mulan will find her Shang whether or not Shang is male or female. I wouldn’t want Belle to be with anyone other than her “beast” and her beast just so happened to be Rumplestiltskin. Rapunzel on the other hand isn’t based on the Disney Rapuznel. She could be with anyone, but if she were the Disney Rapunzel then I would say she should be with Flynn.

They can take artistic license when it comes down to their intrepreations of the characters. But still they shouldn’t completely abandon where they came from. Some of us want to see our favorite characters and their stories come to life on OUAT. If they just stop caring about the Disney aspect all together, id lose a bit of interest. Bring in a same sex couple all they want, but at the expense of a Disney couple? I would not prefer that. There are plenty of characters and fairytales who have no one, they are open candidates. Or again, they could just gender swap a Disney couple.

I have really enjoyed reading this thread. Interesting perspectives all around. I think we should have a thread specifically for this (unless this thread has moved on completely from Glinda/Zelena rlationship to just dicussing the possibility of ANY same sex relationship in the show. Either way is fine, lets just keep discussing it :D)

Anyway, something that I was thinking about earlier when reading this thread was about something Crystal Princess said, about how same sex relationships aren’t really representated in fairytales and how Disney has yet to have a gay princess. I was just thinking that A&E may run into some backlash if they introduce a character who in the Disney films (lets say Hercules for example) has a OTP match and then give them a same sex pairing in OUAT. Wouldn’t fans get upset about that? I mean, even if u took Atiel and put her Hook people would have thrown hissy fits because she wasn’t with who she is with in the Disney film. What I mean to say is, if OUAT chooses to introduce a same sex couple, do u guys think they would do it with a character who has an established relationship through Disney canon (Tiana, Anna, Ariel) or with characters who had no romantic parnter (Elsa, Merida, Drizella perhaps?) and do you think fans would accept that? Food for thought. I could accept Elsa or Merida in whatever kind of relationship but for me OTPs are off limits. Tiana has to be with Naveen, Ariel had to be with Eric.
