RG I love your idea with blue and the begin with the DarkOne. I am still a fan of SNEAKY fairy – who need a dark fairy? at all? (why was chernabog not searching for blue?). Just the idea with the author is not mine. I am convinced that blue was lying a lot or leaving the truth out. (After so many years of living, she knows that she is not good in it) Her eyes seemed haunted for me, so I guess she is the author herself. Blue even suggested that it could be a woman. So my guess for the author is Blue fairy. After what happened to her love that got so twisted because of her. She tried to rewrite their story to safe him but failed miserable. (I mean first she disliked Regina that much to not even could say a proper thank you, but when Regina told her about her wish she was so compassion to her – this is my reason why I think she tried it herself to rewrite destiny)
Of course she can’t tell them about her big, big secret so she just say the author is not seen by anyone, which is partial true, cause she is know the blue fairy or nun and nothing more and the books are at the sorcerer house cause where could she do this kind of magic anyhow. When she was trying to save him with the books she could not do it by the fairys so she did it by his old home. Something gone terrible wrong by this writing and she stopped to not let it go any worse. At some point she was belle and rumple. Love wasn’t enough and she had to let it go and now she is terrified to see him again.
Another reason why I think blue is the author was a scene in season one. I think she told August about Henrys book, before the curse was even started, so she knew that it was their and that this chapter would be not in it. How could she if she was not the writer herself.
So the author was not a passive god like creature but someone who tried to trick fate, destiny or whatever you want to call it, but our story can hold many possibilities and ways that are made in the moment of the choices we made every second of our days… Just let me explain it with a song of Cat Stevens:

then E & A will hate me cause I want Rumple to find his humanity that much, that I really want that he loose his magic complete after season 4 and have to struggle with his life that much so that he send belle away, so that only Henry will talk into him and get him the right direction with dealing it. In the end of season 5 he is mentally strong enough, but then find a new problem after saving Henry or belle, cause he can use a new kind of magic himself and that least to the 6th season were he found out about his mummy who is a fairy named blue and get into the story of the beginnings of the darkones.

RG maybe you are right after all what happened since seaason 3. I guess you want to protect me going to much in a character and story that may not exist and thank you for protecting me. But I stay with my theory for a too much hurt person that change the little good thing he has into a twisted mental image that never gonna work even when played out.
I just can’t picture Rumple as a dictater. He is not the typ of being a king, more like somebody who is controlling the king. He is the puppetmaster, who is not seen but make in reality the story.
This theory maybe one like Mama Blue, but I never giving up on that too. 🙂

RG it may be wierd but it makes sense to me, it even make sense to me with Jafar. He loved his father and trusted him and as his father that should protected and loved him, killed his unwanted son. The hate was as strong as the love Jafar had for his father This kill and how Jafar did was understandable for me. Jafar told him that he wanted his father killed by one he love as much as he did once, but why did he then not just trick somebody his father already loved into murdering him, because Jafar couldn’t kill his father without be loved by him once. I know … I should visit Archy or maybe one who get the degree not of a curse.

RG I hope you are wrong, cause if he just wants power over a world than my Rumple I fell in love would be dead.
I really hope that he is trying to get a fresh start with a new son and wife and need power to feel secure enough to protect them. I think that he is not mention bae at all is more proof that he can’t face his loss and want to erase his failure with a replicate. I know it sounds silly and of course it can’t work even when he succeed, but what else should he do? He is too much of a coward to accept that some things can’t be undone.
When he found the hat he was surprised and after he talked with henry on this deleted scene he begun to see what he could do for himslf, for belle and for henry. He said sweet words to henry, about a cloak of regret you have to wear to be strong. Maybe he even meant it back then but we know that rumple isn’t that kind of strong person. He will try the way that heny showed him. He will start new, cause he is a coward, he is shattered, it is his only way for a happy ending in his twisted mind.
He never cared for the world at all and I don’t think that he will start now with this crap.
This time I stick on Jafars words:” It wasn’t the power. It’s always the same story with us sorcerer at the end of the day. It all come back around – the family.”

Until the last episode I was confused too. I didn’t get into my favorite character at all in season 4, but know I think I understand what is driving him mad and the reason is simple, cause we all know his drive. He just want his son. He wanted him in the first minute when the seer told him about Bae and he still wants his son after he is gone.
I think resurecting his son would be his favorite option, but he knows that it would be never his Bae. It would a marionette ( a Zombie like David, or the ones Cora and Jafar were using) and not the brave boy he loved so dearly.
My guessing is that he will destroy Storybrook and kill all person in it, to wipe out his past so it can’t haunt him for the future he wants to build. He will have his wife Belle, his grandson Henry and his power to protect his little world that are not more then his family. Rumplestiltskin never cared for the world he just needed all informations and power to find his family, to protect it at all costs. This is the spinners core and will it ever be. The rest of the world even if he like a few in them can go to the purgatory if needed.
I think that Rumple will even go further than that. We (not) know about the deleted Grandpastiltskins moment in season 4 that even Henry wants his cursed memory from NY back, cause their he was happy. I believe that Rumple will give it Henry back with one minor change, so that Henry can be his son. He will try to create his perfect fresh start that he ever wanted.
You know guys that sometimes he is just too weird like asking his son to change 14 again after seeing him not a couple of hundred of years.

For me it was always clear that Henry has magic. How can he be not. When magic is calling for him since the day he was born.

3.) The book that found him to give him hope and let him safe the town. Rescue both of his mothers and helping to get the memory back and finding his father. For me always Henry was the real saviour, not Emma, cause he believed in her and only his kisses broke BOTH curses:

4.) His greatgrandfathr who had a piture of him 200 years before he was born and needed his heart only to live longer. The heart of the truest believer. I can’t beleve that the heart is so powerful as just a item for a spell, but then the owner of this very heart has none magic at all. This is not logical for me.
5.) Rumple teached Cora that Magic comes from Emotions. I think after all what he been through. He lived 10 years in a town that was not aging with one exception, himself. His mother is evil, his other mother has give him away. He didn’t know his father very long time before he died. Family members try to kill each other or him and his best friends are books and comics.
6.) His lineage is quite powerful too.
So I think he has everything he needs to do magic. I think it can even go deeper. I think he can be a balance of magic, where it will not be good or bad magic anymore, because evil or good, it is never that simple. He will be the greatest of all, the pure Magician.
If sou say nope to all that. It is totally OK, cause until now nothing is sure. It is just my opinion for Henry and Magic.

Was the hat created by the wizard? Does Jefferson know it and if he does, could it be the Knight know him too, so the wizard is from Wonderland… I mean we have to many strings to follow.

I think the rabbit hole we can not use for going to a land without magic, cause the dear rabbit came after storybook was full with magic and Alice london is not our london, but I mean the rabbit hole could be just not yet for sure, bu instead of the rabbit hole you can use shadow. Shadow is working very good. I mean you don’t need magic at all cost, just a good zipper and a coconut ( that also can use for making spaghetti). I am not sure but I think we can count Lake Nostos and even Nyx to way to get to the land without magic. Maybe even the cool carpet of Jafar, but they are not yet sure.
