ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
I don’t think that August called Henry. The tone he was using with the person on the other end of the line was quite different from the tone he has used with Henry in every scene we have seen them in together. I was thinking that he called Bae and it was him that suggested he focus his attentions on Mr. Gold/the dagger. The only thing is, Bae would have told him that trying to use the dagger to control his father wouldn’t work. Mr. Gold said himself that his son would never try that because he knew better. Unless Bae thought it might work because Emma has magic, so our world isn’t “without magic” after all. It would also make sense that it was August’s idea to look for the dagger and he was so desperate to live that he ignored Bae’s advice to focus on Emma and not Mr. Gold. I can’t believe I’m racking my brain like this over a television show. I haven’t concentrated this hard since college….well, since Lost.
I’m new here, so please forgive me if I am echoing something another member has posted. Regina had to kill her father, whom she loved the most to enact the curse. What if it’s the same thing to end the curse? What if one (or more) of them have to give up what they love the most to end the curse? That would explain why nothing happened after Mary Margaret and David kissed. I don’t see Emma or Mary Margaret killing someone, and it seems like they’ve all already given up what they love the most ( Emma/Henry, Mary Margaret/David), but maybe there is something to it. Perhaps Regina will have to give up Henry to Emma for the curse to end. That would still stick with making Emma the key to ending the curse. Am I crazy?
Hmm…the ankle thing does make me wonder and why he wouldn’t let her look. We could just assume it was a macho thing, but usually in this show every detail means something. Did anyone else notice how he reacted when she accused him of double crossing her regarding the evidence against Regina? I can’t remember his exact words, but he seemed genuinely hurt and told her that he had hoped she had realized by now that he would NEVER do anything to hurt her or betray her. So that makes me think that August is somehow closely connected to Emma. Maybe Henry’s father? The producers did say that we would find out who he was and may meet him without knowing that we’ve met him.
