I wonder that too. Snow knew enough about Regina to assume the Huntsman was sent to kill her. And that was like two days after the funeral. So she must have had some inkling of Regina’s true nature.
And to the earlier points. Snow’s opinion of Regina, i.e. if she sees her as a mother, shouldn’t affect who Regina chooses to be with. I see my self as RC’s best friend but I doubt he sees it that way.
I’m not intending to start a debate on this. I was just pointing out that I didn’t see the stepmother past as icky and a reason that Swan Queen shouldn’t exist.

I’m going to use Rumbelle and Bae as an example of my point. Belle and Rumple love each other. However, Belle is not officially Bae’s step-mother because she has not married Rumple yet. Belle’s relationship to Bae is his dad’s girlfriend. Hook loved Milah. However, because they weren’t married, Hook is not officially Bae’s step-father but was Milah’s boyfriend. Regina did not love Leopold. However, they were married which makes her officially Snow’s stepmother and thus Emma’s grandmother. Does the step-parent/step-child relationship cease to exist when the biological parent dies? Using Rumbelle and Bae as an example again, say Belle married Rumple and officially became Bae’s step-mother. Rumple dies (heaven forbid) does that mean Belle is no longer Bae’s step-mother?
And again, you’re putting the emphasis on the institution of marriage. Does raising a child without being married make someone less of a parent? Regina may have been married to Leopold, but I don’t see her as a mother to Snow. She hated her.
truidiaParticipantFor the record I don’t believe in same sex marriage or relationship, and by the way there is only about 2 to 3% of the population that is in this same sex stuff so why does Hollywood and others have to cater to just the 3% is beyond me. It’s actually 10 percent.
truidiaParticipant201242 wrote:What do you think Hook and Emma about the same thing only worst. Hook was with Henry, grandmother and Hook would have been Emma’s mother-in-law.
I don’t think Hook ever married Milah otherwise he would have mentioned it by now. I don’t consider Hook Emma’s father in law because Emma hasn’t married Neal and if she did Rumple would be her father in law. Regina married Leopold making her Snow’s step-mother and thus Emma’s step grandmother. Also, Hook said in the Crocodile that he’s “had many a man’s wife”. Since that was 300 years ago, what’s the odds that at least some of those wives could have gotten pregnant because of Hook before he moved on with his travels. What if there are present day relatives of Hook running around the likes of FTL and Storybrooke?
Here’s my my problem with that argument. You’re putting a higher value on the title of marriage without taking into account actual affection and love. Hook loved Milah and was prepared to raise Baelfire as his own son. He chose that family. Regina, on the other hand, never loved Leopold. She hated Snow, and if you asked her I’m pretty sure she would rather compliment Charming’s intelligence, than claim to be Snow’s mother. Yes she married him, but she didn’t want to be married to him. That to me negates any arguments about the step-mother thing. Also considering how much time has passed since both of those relationship and the fact the none of them are biologically related, I didn’t have a problem with either CaptainSwan or SwanQueen.
Now as to the Swan Queen fandom reaction… I think that hate tweets were about the dumbest thing any fandom shippers can do. What’s that going to accomplish? Nothing, but alienate you. However I also don’t like the reaction by other the ship fandoms to the hate tweets. Adam get’s hate tweets all the time. He’s been deflecting questions about Rumbelle for several weeks because apparently; [sarcasm]Belle and Rumple went their separate ways in the finale which means that that ship will never ever happen and Belle’s getting written off and they are terrible writers[/sarcasm]. Seriously, people suck sometimes. Speaking of which: I read last night that the girl that asked the now infamous Swan Queen question was yelled at by other fans after the Q&A for “embarrassing the OUAT fanbase.” I think we can all agree that no fandom has the right to criticize/ridicule another no matter how probably or improbable their ship may be. Why be nasty to each other? Because it’s the internet!
Then there’s the reaction to the reaction. Just reading through this thread I’ve seen a lot of posters generalizing all Swan Queen fans into a group of angry LGBT supporters who only watched because they wanted a gay relationship on the show. And that’s all based on one tweet from Adam. We don’t know how many hate tweets he or JMo got, nor what they were about. So it’s not really fair to say that the whole Swan Queen community is represented by the unknown fraction that took to twitter and tumbler. There are plenty, who will argue that the ship was based on story and the chemistry between the two actresses. I ship Hooked Queen but I’ll be the first to admit, the “un-intentional” allusions to that relationship where pretty overt. If Adam and Eddy didn’t intend for people to ship them, then why did they emphasize family, make a huge point that they are both Henry’s mothers and love him, and then have Regina and Emma join there magic in the finale in a big ball of energy that explodes at their pelvises. After that scene I actually did scratch my head and tell my friends, “Maybe they are going to do it.”
So anyway to bring this really long post to a close. I think that Eddy and Adam started this show with a very clear story mapped out. They did not intend for this show to be a platform to address any social issues, and when this cropped up for them in season one they didn’t know what to do with it. Being a very vocal fandom, they were going to have to deal with this eventually. I almost wish they had said, “You’ll just have to wait and see” or one of their usually not-answer answers. But Eddy shut it down and now there are a lot of hurt feelings, bitching between the fandoms, and DRAMA when there really didn’t need to be. Hopefully only a small chunk of the Swan Queen audience stops watching because honestly we can’t afford to lose more viewers.
truidiaParticipantAnd now I’m all but convinced that Tink and Blue are one in the same.
truidiaParticipantAll we know is that there were photos of Neal with Milan, Philip, and Aurora. So presumably the bean took him to FTL and he met up with them. Whether or not he dies in the episode (via gunshot wound or wraith) is not known.
truidiaParticipantI just noticed the pickaxe Greg uses is Happy’s. LOL writers.
truidiaParticipantAlso her magic is coming back gradually
truidiaParticipantGot the new Entertainment Weekly yesterday and there was a tiny blurb on the Once finale in their Must Watch section. I don’t have the quote in front of me, but they spoiled that the fail safe will be used/detonated.
truidiaParticipantI think she picked Wilma because it felt about as regal as a potato. She picked a name to fit her disguise.
