I don’t know. I don’t see the black silk jammies. Not sure why but in spite of his impeccable daytime dress I just see him being more laid back at night behind closed doors. The silk seems too fussy. Either way I want to see it! 😛

It didn’t look to me like one of the Queen’s boxes. I can see your jewelry box theory being true.

Fantastic idea! I’m trying to decide between having a catch-all Characters forum or separate forums for each character, under a Characters group.
It would be more organized to have separate forums. But over-organizing can also cause stress.
What would you prefer?
I actually think separate forums would actually be better because we’re going to end up with threads organized by date rather than by subject which doesn’t always help if you want to see if there is already a thread speculating why the queen hates Snow, or analyzing MM and David’s relationship or discussing Rumplestiltskin’s sartorial sense.
Just my opinion.

A couple of things that bother me about this episode:
*Even if he is sick and highly distracted, shouldn’t the sheriff do a wee bit more investigating when he comes upon the most feared man in town, alone in the forest in a leather apron and carrying a shovel? Especially when that shovel-carrying man gives such a lame explanation as “a bit of gardening”?
I recently rewatched this episode and was struck by the same thing. I thought it was a measure of just how distracted Graham was, that he didn’t even ask a follow-up question to the entirely implausible explanation. I also thought it was testament to Gold’s ability to half-hypnotize people into not questioning what he is doing. Graham never seemed terribly intimidated by Gold (he had no call to be, I guess). But you’re absolutely right — Gold in the woods with a shovel is nearly as sinister as Gold at the hardware store on Valentine’s day buying rope and duct tape!

*And what gardener goes out to work in a tailored suit and tie? BTW, wouldn’t you just love to see Mr. Gold in, say, a pair of jeans and a Grateful Dead t-shirt just once?
Didn’t so much as remove his jacket or loosen his tie. 😀 Did you also notice there was not a speck of dust on him? Not the boots, the sleeves, or the impeccably pressed apron.

*Why is everyone bent out of shape about a single mom having a tryst? Regina is trying to be discreet about it. On the other hand, where’s the EEOC when you need them? This is clearly a case of harrassment.
I don’t think anybody else looked twice. Emma was just cheesed because she had the hots for the sheriff. (Can’t fault her taste!)
weedithParticipantHey thanks for doing the character section. These forums are by far
my favorite for discussion!weedithParticipant60 extra minutes would be awesome! But unfortunately that’s not going to happen. I think you’re right that we will maybe get one deleted scene. The only ones I have ever seen on DVDs are scenes that have gone all the way through post-production with music and sound and all that good stuff. Ones they decide right away they aren’t going to use wouldn’t get all those finishing touches and I don’t think they ever release those.
weedithParticipantI am certainly not “in the business” so I can only go off of what I hear in interviews and such, but my understanding is that they always film more than the 45 minutes or so that thy need for the episode and then the director and/or editor has options of what will go into the finished product. Sometimes a scene looks great on paper but doesn’t translate well on screen, or it doesn’t work with the episode as a whole. It certainly seems logical to have something extra rather than not having enough to fill the time. Somebody who knows television production methods could speak more intelligently to that than I.
As I recall the twitter message someone had asked specifically about any deleted scenes for
“Skin Deep” and RC replied that they had filmed a total of about 60 minutes, which would mean about 15 minutes of unused scenes. Don’t know if that was just Rumple/Belle scenes or just that this is their stndard practice.weedithParticipantI don’t read spoilers so this is just based on my own speculation —- I get the sense that Regina’s pain is somehow to do with a child. In “Snow Falls” Charming asks Snow if she really did ruin the Queen’s life and Snow says “yes.” I don’t think Snow stole EQ’s boyfriend. Snow seemed almost regretful when she said yes, and I don’t see that as a rivals for love relationship. I also see EQ as a generation older since she was married to Snow’s father. I don’t have a scenario of how it might have happened but I am thinking maybe EQ lost a baby or lost the ability to have a child. That would be consistent with Regina wanting Henry.
Just a theory.

That still seems very unlikely. Maybe he just means they had to do a couple three takes of each scene and there were a couple deleted bits. I just can’t imagine they filmed that much extra. Maybe the actor just thought it was a lot because that was the first Rumpel centric episode.
Robert Carlyle has been acting for 30 years. I would think he knows the difference between filming multiple takes of the same scene and filming different scenes. I imagine the 60 minutes is an estimate on his part but I would trust him to have a pretty good idea of how much they filmed.
weedithParticipantThis potential moment has generated more fanfic than possibly any other in the OUaT world! My opinion is that Belle doesn’t remember any more than anyone else and Regina has her locked away to be used as a pawn against Mr Gold when she needs him distracted or vulnerable. I think that was her motive for having the cup stolen — to sound Gold out as to 1) forcing him to reveal that he remembers who he is and 2) measuring how much he still loves Belle. And she got her answer in spades on both questions. Can’t wait to see how it plays out. Sawyer & Juliet x 10!!!
