Yup. @TheWatcher raised a question in another thread: do the writers not think about their show hard enough or do we, the audience, think too hard? A and E would really like if we didn’t try to think about the show too hard. Just accept “magic” as a catchall answer but humans are rarely accepting of such a simplistic (and let’s face it, often nonsensical) answer as “magic” so we keep trying to dig deeper while A and E keep handing us more SHINY to distract from the fact that we’re not getting any where. It’s giving them the old razzle dazzle, to quote Chicago. Stun the audience enough and they’ll never think twice. For example: A and E pull a rabbit from a hat. While you’re busy trying to see if the rabbit is good, bad, morally grey, and figure out how the rabbit fits into the larger worldly and mythological construct, A and E have set the auditorium on fire and are begging you to Tweet about it.

In Adam and Eddy’s eyes….”Magic” is the excuse for everything, especially with all of these oh so convenient plot devices like “Heart of the Person you hate Most” “Heart of the Person who scolded you the longest” “Heart of the Truest Believer” “Heart with the most resilience”
Next thing you know, the Season 5 Villain will want the person with the “Heart To Make The Best Cheese Toast Sandwich”! Watch out Granny! (rolls eyes and facepalms self)

The real question, for me, is whether or not anything actually *happened* when the Apprentice put on his show. Despite apparently casting out all the darkness, Emma has still lied, stolen, be given over to jealousy, rage, and fits of temper, justifiably murdered Cruella, and had the Chernabog after her. And despite apparently casting that darkness INTO Lily, we saw a lovely compassionate giving and caring young girl in 405. I’m still not convinced the Apprentice did anything other than putting on an elaborate puppet show (at the hands of the Author who just wanted a better story) As for the hair, the hair in Shattered Sight could only reverse the curse if that person had previously been affected by the Curse of SS. So, while magic is often used on OUAT, I guess Emma’s hair would have be similarly “cursed” in order to work on Lily (if that makes sense).
I agree…you know during all that transfer of darkness from Emma to Lily, I expected some Harry Potter ish to go down….like we see darkness coming out of Baby Emma and going into Lily, but all we saw was Lily being dragged down the portal.
That didn’t necessarily look like a transfer of yin and yang to me.

If the drama of Emma going dark ends up rotating around the resulting seaworthiness of CaptainSwan, the process will be complete.
That’s exactly how it’s going to go.
I just tried to have a hopeful thought that somehow the Author writes Neal alive, and he’d come and give Emma TLK to undo all the darkness….then I remembered that MRJ is on another show, and that there’s no way Adam and Eddy will turn Saint KILLian back into the villain he once was.
Question:
Are they really going to just think that we forgot that Killian having that fake hand showed us who he really is??? I mean…that’s kind of a big deal isn’t it!

I could see her playing The Black Fairy
You know I’m itching to start tweeting Adam and Eddy like crazy trying to get Claudia Black to play the Black Fairy….a real villain who doesn’t have a sob story, after Cruella….I’m starting to like the No Sob Story moves.
I’m actually hoping we see the Black Fairy in Season 5….and I hope they really hype her coming, kinda like Blue Fairy being all scared and what not explaining the true danger she imposes. I hope the Black Fairy becomes like the true Queen of Darkness who gives no crap about nothing, and wants what’s hers.
Scenario:
The Blue Fairy:
You don’t understand….the Black Fairy is like no enemy you’ve ever faced. She is a creature shaped and filled with darkness, and she preys on those with the greatest magical potential, so she can take it for herself. And if she has awakened from her thousand year sleep as the Sorcerer and I fear….it won’t be long until she comes for us all.
(Earthquake ensues….black clouds hover over Storybrooke.)
Emma:
What the hell is going on?
(The Blue Fairy’s eyes widen as her mouth trembles with fear)
The Blue Fairy:
From a thousand year sleep…true darkness has awakened…
(All the power in Storybrooke goes out, leaving it in darkness as an eerie whistling tune plays in the background.)
The Blue Fairy: (O.S)
And we are all doomed.
(Cut to black)
Now that’s how I’d like to see a Season Finale End!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
