The problem with her saving Marian’s life is that we also saw her tell Sidney that she had to get rid of Marian in a way that cast no suspicion on her. So saving Marian’s life…could be a way to give her an alibi later. (You know, like giving Belle the fake dagger gave Rumple an alibi later…)

That’s a valid point. I have to wonder though whether Regina will actually carry out a scheme against Marian after coming so far in s3. Like I wrote, she’s certainly still tempted by dark magic. And as you say, she’s employed Sidney to do her dirty work. However, I’m still more inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt. As I mentioned, Henry’s going to be helping his mom out, and there’s no way Henry would agree to let his mom kill Marian. I for one want Marian to live, and I also have this suspicion that her presence is going to help fuel Regina’s redemption further. Regina may be convicted in the end. (That may be wishful thinking on my part, but I think Regina has come too far for the writers to put her all the way back at square one). While Marian may die by some other means, I hope Regina won’t be even indirectly responsible for it.

Like many things Regina does, she didn’t think this through. She walked into a wedding and threatened to destroy everyone’s happy ending….but had no plan. Rumple had to remind her of the Curse. This is pretty much that…I will get my happy ending by finding the book author and force them to write me a happy ending!!….but what does that mean for like…everyone else and the town and everything that has happened since creation of book.

This even though I’m an Evil Regal, I will agree with. Sometimes Regina doesn’t think a lot of things through, and I could give examples, but I’m sure most of you would be delighted to go down the list on those things. But the number one thing she didn’t think through was adopting Henry…she had been so blinded by loneliness along with the hole in her heart, which I wanna say Adam and Eddy said was filled by Henry, that she didn’t slow down and think that one day this child would get older, and see that no one in town ages, and all of his classmates seem to flunk their grade every year. So that is one instance where she did not think things through.

As for her happy ending….If Regina decided to go back and give herself a happy ending, I’m wondering if that would mean Snow White never catching her and Daniel. If that one tiny scene was rewritten, instantly all the happy endings would go back in place, well all the happy endings that Regina affected. Which means all the lives she took, as well as the misery and torture her Evil Queen days inflicted would be undone and disappear. So in a way…Regina’s not just giving herself a happy ending, she’s giving back the happy ending to all those she took from.

But as lovely as all that would sound, we’d still have the Henry situation! What would happen to Henry? What would happen to Emma? Because Snow only met Charming because Regina sent her on the run, so Snow White’s happy ending is strangely owed to Regina. Between choosing her family, and her happy ending….I think Regina will realize she has a lot more to lose if she changed the past, which will ultimately stop her from pursuing the Book’s Author. And who knows….Regina may just ask the Book’s Author to bring her back Daniel! Because even though Daniel may have not been her soul mate…he was still her true love.

Well, for Regina it’s rarely mattered what it meant for anyone else. She is an inherently self-centered woman, and that is what has made her a villain–she pursues what she wants regardless of how it affects others. She’s occasionally moved past that, but it’s a habit that’s clearly going to die hard.

Self Centered woman….in the past during her Evil Queen days. Evil was not born, it was made. And that’s not a habit that’s dying hard…and to downplay all the times she willingly acted selfless and heroic and calling it “occasionally moving past” is a tad insulting to all the hard work and effort she’s put into redeeming herself, and being the person her family wants her to be.

Agreed. I get the impression that Regina’s ideal happy ending would still be exactly what she wanted in season two–everyone dead besides her and Henry (and now Robin, I suppose).

Well…what a way to have hope for redemption? Must we replay Season 3? The Charmings are Regina’s family now, given two of them are idiots, they’re still family. And she’s come too far to want everyone dead except Henry. Perhaps this woman, whose been through h*** and back just wants peace for once in her life?

That first promo slightly irked me….just really irked me.

In terms of Regina, have we discussed whether or not the reason she cant attain or happiness as easily as Rumpel for example, is because this is the price of the curse at work? The hole in her heart that she cant fill, perhaps whenever she gets something that would lead her to happiness she is doomed to lose it. Perhaps the only way for her to get her happy ending…is to make it so that she never casted the curse.

The moment Regina reversed the curse…I’d like to think the hole was refilled, but for Regina it never really was because Henry was not with her. The Hole in the heart should have been Snow White, but she cheated the Dark Curse out of it’s price by dividing her heart with Charming….so I don’t know anymore?

    Note:

I think Regina’s depression goes far beyond losing Robin Hood…the woman’s had a tough two years that she hasn’t had time to properly sit down, think about, and work through. I mean the woman’s curse broke, nearly got killed by an angry mob, had to fight for her son, give up her son for his best wishes, do your best to try to be good, tried to stop using magic, First True Love came back who she had to later, painfully kill herself, then worried your mother would come to kill everyone you love, save Emma and Mary Margret at the well, dealing with the scorn of angry townspeople in Storybrooke, find out your therapist has been talking to people behind your back, falsely accused of killing someone, losing your son yet again, go into hiding where the mother you’ve spent your whole life terrified of, comes back wanting to make amends promising to get you back your son, go on this crazy Dagger Quest, fight in Gold’s Shop, betrayed by Snow White who tricked you into killing your own mother, going through a lottta lotta lotta crazy moments, discovering that your son’s family was planning to leave you behind, more crazy moments, being nearly electrocuted to death, then right afterward having to nearly sacrifice your life to save the town you cursed, then jump straight into Neverland where you spend weeks saving/leading/working with the people who get on your last nerves, finally teaming up with Rumple to come up with a solution to Peter Pan issue, training Emma in magic, then seeing your son give his heart to someone else, you finally have enough and just beat Pan yourself, save your son, and you’re out of NL! The same day….you learn that you were tricked by Peter Pan who possessed Henry’s body, deceiving you, then reunited with your real son who later switched back bodies, then seeing your Master/Father Figure sacrifice his life to save his family, and then you have to do your part by sacrificing your happy ending, giving your son to his bio mom, and giving them both good memories knowing your son will never remember you again, and then finally reversing your curse to send you and everyone else back to the H— Hole you fought so hard to escape. Sinking into a deep dark depression, you try your best to hold it together, but then discovers a big sister who wants to kill you and your family, so a whole year of dealing with that plus a load of flirtatious moments with a Snarky Outlaw, you are a better person who splits your (step)daughter’s heart in half to save her and your son in law’s, before the curse sweeps back across the land taking you back to SB where you have no memory of the past year, and is once again called out as the villain who cursed them one more. Then seeing the son who no longer remembers you, working together with your co-parent/(step)granddaughter, you clear your name and oust Zelena. Now dealing with your wicked elder sister, along with managing a relationship with the soulmate you ran from so long ago, you balance and do everything to protect not only your heart but your family, even getting knocked around by your dead mother, where you eventually break the curse, and immediately have to guard your step daughter whose baby gets taken away. Teaming up with your family, you go to confront your sister, where you gain light magic, and defeat her. You try giving her a second chance only to discover that she may have offed herself, not knowing Rumple really did it. Yet, despite that tiny bit, you’re at your most happiest with your soul mate, your son, his son, and your family! But then after a long day of happiness…you discover that Emma brought back your soul mate’s dead wife who was supposed to die….

So after all of that, Regina hasn’t had time to get some wine, soft music, think, and try not to sink into depression. Like Lana said, she’s been through a lot, and just hasn’t had a chance to take a break and think….so alone time with herself was needed, and she knew the Charmings would take care of Henry.

Here is my theory. I think that Elizabeth Mitchell’s character is the Snow Queen who gave up her infant daughter, Elsa, to Rumplestiltskin for mysterious but sympathetic reasons. Rumplestiltksin then made a deal with the king and queen of Arendelle, who adopted Elsa, thinking they were unable to have a child. Later, Anna came along as a welcomed surprise. The king and queen never told Elsa she was adopted nor how she came by her powers. Unbeknownst to Elsa, she inherited her magic from her birth mother, the Snow Queen, who lived in Misty Haven. That is where Elsa’s adoptive mother and father were headed in a ship when the storm hit, to seek help and understanding about Elsa’s uncontrollable power. The queen of Arendelle wrote a note to Elsa, telling her she was adopted, who her birth mother is, and then sealed the letter in a bottle. Years later, Anna set out on a mission to find out what happened, when she came across the Snow Queen, who then froze or apprehended Anna, for some unknown reason. Elsa will somehow discover the letter in a bottle from her adoptive mother and will then learn the identity of the Snow Queen, who is now in Stroybrooke, as well as the location of her adoptive sister, Anna.

All of this….I agree! Either this or the King had an affair with the Ice Queen, who gave birth, was sealed inside of the Urn where the King took his daughter Elsa in, and returned to Arendelle.
