EDIT: Since we keep getting bumped back here might as well put something worth looking at 🙂
I was really happy with the moments we saw and although Emma ruined it I thought it was very telling why she did what she did. I think the reason Emma left Hook was because she was starting to have feelings for him. She was starting to like him so she shut him out and shut down her feelings before he could hurt her and betray her. She was clearly upset with what she was doing to him while still showed concern for his safety.
It seems like he was starting feel something for Emma and Emma was starting to feel something for him but she simply shut down again. Rather than take a chance that he was being sincere, before he got close enough to her emotionally she trapped him and left him like her mamma told her before about that wall she puts up. It was really sad to see actually what her experience with Neal led her to do to Hook when she felt herself getting close to him.
I really hope Hook shows up for Emma in the end, the worst thing is that Hook actually allowed Emma to cloud his judgment that’s why he took her hand and gave Emma the chance to trap him. It was really heart-wrenching to see Hook try to convince Emma not to do what she ended up doing… I don’t think we’re done with this relationship I’m thinking it’s just getting started. 😀

Nice gifs! So what do you think is going to happen when Emma and Neal are reunited? A love triangle? Do you think Emma would ultimately pick Hook over Neal?
It’s gonna be a funny kind of situation when Emma learns the truth of why Neal left her. It’s gonna depend on what happens between now and then between Hook and Emma. If it happens like I hope where Hook comes through for Emma against Cora then I think there will be a love triangle when Neal comes back. If Neal also proves to be Peter Pan that could be so much fun. As far as Emma picking Hook over Neal, Hook would have to have done something pretty amazing for Emma to do that. The thing I like about Emma’s potential romances is as oppose to all the “will they won’t they” with Charming and Snow last season which was fun to see but in the end everyone knew they were gonna be together. With Emma’s potential romances there’s more room to go to other places any maybe do something unexpected. In the end the obvious route is for her to pick Neal but for me the more interesting route would be for her to pick Hook.
Interesting question, If Emma/Hook do end up together, will Emma pull a Belle and tell Hook not to seek revenge on Rumple? Should she?

That’s a really good question, I think she might but I think it’ll depend on where Rumple is at the time. If he’s dangerous she might be on Hook’s side!

Emma may feel a little vengeful that she was separated from Henry because of the Wraith that Rumple summoned. Hook’s been planning his revenge on Rumple for centuries (though the time difference in Neverland may not actually make it that long) Emma asking Hook not to take revenge is not going to sway his mind.
I can see Emma being less friendly, not that she was very friendly to begin with, to Rumple now that she knows he has killed someone. If Bae does turn out to be Henry’s father then Emma is not going to want Rumple anywhere near her son regardless of their bloodlink.

Keeper of FelixJust realized that Emma doesn’t know that Regina killed Graham. Now I really want that to get revealed! That will add an interesting dynamic to the battle over Henry.
Anyways, I almost want Hook and Emma together now, if for nothing else to see how Emma deals with Hook’s revenge plot. Is she going to take the moral high ground, or will she turn a blind eye? It’s been such a common theme through the narrative thus far that revenge should not be sought, even if the other person has wronged you terribly. We’ve seen this with Belle, Rumple and Regina, and also with Charming, Evil Snow and Regina. I wonder what’s going to happen with Emma, Hook and Rumple!
I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve watched this ep but I am 100% CaptainSwan! I get that some people liked the Neal / Emma stuff (I didn’t see tons there except maybe puppy love but a lot has changed in the last 11 years!). *If* Neal is Bae then it would be an interesting dynamic I suppose but I feel like a CaptainSwan endgame has more potential and is less predictable too. That may change once we get to know more of all their stories but I just don’t see it. In fact I feel like it’s Lost all over again where there were 2 main legit ships and mine was not the one we ended up with *grrrrrrrr*
Sure, bring Neal back, let them sort out their issues and both be in Henry’s life but I could see other options for both of them. Neal had a sweetness to him that sorta reminded me of Daniel and perhaps he could team up with Regina once she’s redeemed, giving Henry a full set on that side, a dad and step-mom.
I just think the Neal thing is too predictable. Yes they both held on to things from the past but it was a long time ago and they’ve both changed a lot I bet (waiting to see more of Neal). Holding on to things sentimentally is definitely sweet but what happens when the idea you’ve had in your head for 11 years isn’t what you get when meet each other again?
I think the less predictable route would be for Emma to go with Hook. Everybody has been making choices for Emma’s life along the way, even down to August manipulating Neal (grr!). Hook sees her for who she really is and appreciates her for it. He would have never left her at August’s request, he would have found another way for things to work. He doesn’t abandon her like everybody else has either (and he’ll probably be annoyed / impressed that she left him). What was it Hook said to Rumple? “A man who doesn’t fight for what he wants deserves what he gets.” (Hook would fight, Neal ran).
Again, a lot has probably changed in the last 11 years and Neal & Emma definitely have some issues to work out if he shows up (and major Henry drama!) but I’d be happy with them acknowledging that they aren’t who they used to be or who they thought they were and can just find a way to get along for Henry’s sake.
Hook sees through Emma and gets to her in a way we haven’t seen anybody else able to do. She was burned badly by Neal but based on what she said at the end of Tallahassee she did want to trust Hook, she was just afraid to. He’s the only one that can really grill Emma on things and get answers, as well knock down some of those walls. SO MUCH POTENTIAL!
It’ll be awhile before Emma ends up with anybody and she is definitely shipable with a lot of different guys, but I’m really hoping we haven’t seen the last of this!
Looking forward to seeing much much more of Captain Hook (& CaptainSwan!). I think a lot of people are judging him right now on what they perceive to be his story but like we saw with the giant the stories really aren’t the “traditional ones” we know, so from what we’ve seen, Hook may not be what we think we know. As with every story, I try to look at just the ones in OUAT as we’re shown them. Love all the twists they give them and so far we’ve seen a far more sympathetic (albeit pirate) version. Forget the stupid promo department (although I do like the “charming swashbuckler” reference).

^^^ 100% agree! Emma and Neal is too predictable! Emma and Hook well there’s just so much fun to be had there. I feel that had a unique connection and they challenge each other in a way that they both respect and attract the other. Funny thing is even though Emma left him there I think he gets her reasoning, There was so much fear and uncertainty in her voice when she said “I can’t take the chance that I’m wrong about you.”
