As we patiently wait for the return of Once Upon a Time the majority of the cast attended San Diego Comic Con in the last couple of days. There was a number of hints of what’s to come in season 3 some more subtle than others. Josh Dallas, Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Robert Carlyle, Lana Parrilla, Emilie de Ravin, Colin O’Donoghue, Michael Raymond James and of course the brilliant minds behind it all, Eddy Kitsis and Adam Horowitz attended Comic Con.
Once Upon a Time Panel
The cast and crew participated in a number of interviews, the one that revealed the most was the Once Upon a Time panel. Eddy and Adam were the main ones to give away minor spoilers, mainly because they’re the ones that know everything.
Eddy revealed that Peter Pan’s motivated is complicated and he can be a bit frightening. We will be seeing Tinkerbell in season three and she has a very surprising connected with someone at the panel table. Someone guessed Hook but Eddy just repeated ‘a surprising connected’. Adam also hinted there is a reason why Neal ended up in FTL which we will figure out later on. There is a theory going around that it could have been because he touched Emma and that’s the last place she had been recently (with Mulan and Aurora).
An audience member asked about the relationship between Emma, Hook and Neal, Michael said “his character is going to attempt to move heaven and hell to get back to Emma, and if there’s a captain in the way, so be it”. While Jennifer laughed and said “Emma thinks Neal is dead so maybe something might happen on the ship”.
Adam and Eddy also spoke briefly about Jorge Garcia, who plays Tiny/Anton, they will always want Jorge on the show if he isn’t busy and hope to get him back.
The panel ended with the typical Adam and Eddy way, with a question from the audience asking if we will ever see the story about the ‘certain mermaid’ Regina had a problem with in “Skin Deep,” both Eddy and Adam responded with a giggle and said “Anything can happen in Neverland, watch season three.”

Separate Press Interviews
Other things were revealed in the separated individual interviews conducted by press. The common thread in most of the interviews was about the main cast on the ship. They all mentioned that everyone on the ship had their conflicts. Hook with Rumple, Snow with Regina, Regina with Emma and Rumple with everyone on board, but they have to put aside their differences and their dislike for one another to work on the common goal of saving Henry.
Eddy and Adam said “A boat full of leaders that all want to be in charge, it will be interesting to see their first obstacle and how they react together.”
They explained that in season one we saw the characters as their Storybrooke persona and their enchanted forest persona, but in season two the characters were a mix of both. In season three, we are going to see each character returning back to who they are.
The interviews revealed that the first part of the season with be heavily focused on Neverland and will also jump to Neal with Mulan, Aurora and Phillip. Sorry to disappoint some Belle fans but we won’t be seeing much of Storybrooke in the first couple of episodes.
In Robert Carlyle’s interview he spoke of Rumple jumping from good to evil and back to good again, he also said that the closer his character is to Belle the better he tries to be but with him going to Neverland without her it’s going to get very interesting. “Mr. Gold will be very dark and anyone that gets in his way of saving Henry better watch out.”
“Rumple is prepared to die to save Henry, he is on a suicide mission, we will be seeing a whole new Mr. Gold”, said Eddy.
Without giving too much away Carlyle said Rumple and Belle “will meet again and they will meet in Neverland but certainly not in the way you think of typical Once Upon a Time style, but they will meet”.
Emilie de Ravin spoke of the importance of having fairy tales in our lives, she mentions that fairy tales, whether it’s in a book or a TV-show like Once, allow us to escape the hectic world and move into another world, now more than ever. She also says that fairy tales have a lot of good messages for adults as well as for children.
