ParticipantTo all those saying that it should of been Emma, I think your missing the fact that Emma’s character this half season has not acted particularly saviory. She (awesomely – because character depth) made some very selfish choices regarding bringing Henry’s memories back. Last episode she couldn’t even see the storybook. That was clear foreshadowing to Emma not being the one to solve this. Yes her magic is light, but she had not fully committed to staying in this zany fairy tale world.

ModeratorHere’s word for word what Glinda says in 319
Glinda: “She was born with great power. Long ago I gave her a pendant to help focus it. Her magic has resided inside of it every since.”
Charming: “So if we can remove it, she’ll lose her power and we can defeat her?”
Glinda: “Yes, but only a purveyor of the strongest light magic will be able to accomplish such a feat.”
Snow: “Light magic.”
Glinda: “Magic created from love.”
Snow: “Emma. Our daughter. She’s the product of true love, she’s the savior.”
Glinda: “If she is as pure and powerful as you say she is, then yes. She and only she can defeat Zelena.”
Snow just initially assumed it had to be Emma, and Glinda just went along with the idea.

Why do you suppose Regina looked a little sad when the fiery portal closed up? Or whatever that fiery circle was. She looked like she was sad or disappointed.Maybe REGINA WANTED TO GO BACK IN TIME to undo all the evil she has done… murder Leopold, her father, the villagers … prevent the death of Daniel… etc …

Actually I think that’s the big problem. She hasn’t been acting like the Savior despite claiming that she is going to make magic a way of life

ParticipantAnd just to clarify….this entire season has been about Regina vs Zelena…it’d only make sense for Regina to be the one to win.
Besides….did any of us really think that two days of training with the most powerful sorceress alive, would be enough for Emma to take down the other most powerful sorceress alive?
Emma really didn’t stand a chance against someone whose been practicing magic for years, and was trained by Rumpelstilskin. Even Zelena said that she didn’t “Dance with Amateurs”.
Only a more practiced, more powerful sorceress like Regina who was also trained by Rumpelstilskin could take down Zelena. And the only reason she couldn’t in the beginning is because she didn’t have light magic, and thanks to Robin and Henry, she now possesses it! Thus putting her back at first place as the most powerful sorceress that ever lived!
And yes I’m proud and happy for the Queen! All hail the Queen!

True Love is the most powerful magic of all. Emma IS True Love. She is True Love Incarnate. It is her actual state of being. Emma is the most powerful sorceress alive. Regina struggled for a long time with magic because she wasn’t as good at it. Emma Care-Bear Stared Cora away, she put up a barrier around Gold’s shop by just wishing it. She’s the SAVIOR. She broke Regina AND Rumple’s curse. She is more powerful than any magical being that has ever lived because she is True Love.

ParticipantEmma is not the most powerful sorceress alive. Just because you are born with the raw talent to throw a 110 mph fastball does not mean you can hit the strike zone on your third attempt at getting it over home plate. I will concede that she certainly has the most potential.

Regina’s not either. She has just had more practice. She struggled with basic magic for awhile to the point where Rumple started to train Zelena in order to hedge his bets because maybe Regina wasn’t good enough.
Emma has the most potential but she is True Love Incarnate which have been told time and time again is the most powerful magic there is. DAys into her training and she burned Zelena with the power of her magic. REgina has yet to get ONE SINGLE hit off on Zelena.

ParticipantAlso why do people keep throwing around “Savior” as justification that Emma should be able to solve everything. Her magic was woven into the original dark curse, which was broken. Broken. Meaning her role of “Savior” has been fulfilled. When that happened she just became another member of team Hero.
Her entire arch this season has been about her desire to not be the answer to the latest evil; the hero of the masses. She just wanted a break to live an ordinary life with her son. And yet the audience cries foul when Emma isn’t continuously forced into saving the day. She should want to be a hero, not do it because it was written somewhere on a parchment in Rumples cell. My guess is that now that she’s gotten a taste of what it’s like to be on the sidelines, this battle will become the impetus for her to stay, not because she has to, but because she wants to learn more magic and become her own style of hero, one of her own choosing.

The show calls her that, not just fans. She is the Savior. She is supposed to be bring back the happy endings, which hasn’t happened. Her role isn’t over. Adam and Eddy still consider her to be the Savior.
for example: she was able to leave SB in 311 cause of Savior Status.
