I’m super happy that it was Regina who defeated Zelena. I never believed it would be Emma. Emma, who was just beginning to learn magic, defeating Zelena was always too much of a stretch for me to believe. Emma needed to come to storybrooke, learn magic, reunite the family, to enter season 4 as a force to be reckoned with. No way was she strong enough yet to defeat Zelena. Plus, this was a sister story, mostly a Regina season. It was always all about Regina’s transformation. To me, this whole season was about how can Regina learn to leave vengeance behind her, become genuinely good, but still defeat her sister. I genuinely LOVE that Regina now has light magic. She’s stronger than ever.
Plus, if Regina has prevented Rumple from killing Zelena, I’m happy that he got to drag her through the dirt. But really, Rumple does need more. She did kill Neal. That’s too big for him to let go of yet.[adrotate group="5"]May 3, 2014 at 11:46 am #265765PriceofMagicParticipantWhat if killing Zelena causes the time travel?
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixMay 3, 2014 at 11:46 am #265766RumplesGirlKeymasterI don’t know…Emma’s the Savior. I’d totally believe her having enough magic to defeat Zelena.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 3, 2014 at 11:48 am #265767HappyEndingsSpectatorI agree with this:
They dragged Emma back from NYC for absolutely no reason. She played ZERO part in taking down Zelena.
Oh, no wait, there is a reason. Emma had to bring back Henry so Regina could True Love kiss him WITHOUT HER HEART(!!!!!) all to fuel Regina’s instant transformation into the awesomest light magic person EVAH! That was the whole point of Emma’s storyline. (Actually, it’s looking like Emma’s entire purpose in life was to give birth to that kid. Congratulations, Emma. You’ve been promoted to Plot Device status. )
🙁
And this:
Regina has light magic without her heart????
🙁
Regina still doesn’t seem to have recognized that what she did in the past was wrong and misguided, that Snow didn’t really wrong her, that her revenge was all out of proportion and that her desire for revenge, not Snow, was what ruined her life. At least Rumple seems to have recognized where he went wrong in choosing power over his son, and Hook has flat-out said that revenge doesn’t do any good and has recognized that his priorities were wrong. It’s hard for me to believe in someone’s redemption when they haven’t taken that first step of admitting that they were wrong. The furthest Regina has come has been in admitting that Snow might have had some reason to have a grievance against Cora.
🙁

Regina has ALWAYS been their favorite.
But this is a little much. Emma’s the SAVIOR. She has more magic than ANYONE. If Emma really has nothing to do with taking down Zelena then why did they bother with the Dark Curse and taking Emma out of her life to begin with?!
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 3, 2014 at 11:56 am #265773CindersParticipantWe’ll to me, this whole Snow curse is so watered down with curse, reverse curse, recourse, it’s hard to tell what the rules are. Dark Curse, reversed, recast, it’s as convoluted as that Family Tree.
Kinda reminds me of myself, as a young teen, stealing sips of my mom’s liquor and replacing it by adding water to the bottle. Sooner or later, that bottle didn’t pack the same punch. It was still whiskey, but watered down whiskey. Snow’s sacrifice, splitting hearts, kinda watered down that Dark curse into a dim curse. Kinda watered down the need for the savior. Or, maybe Regina’s the new savior. Which reminds me, I need a drink. Which thread has the best whiskey?May 3, 2014 at 11:56 am #265774MatthewPaulModeratorI suspect Zelena is not down for the count quite yet, because she is still alive. Emma could ultimately still play a role in stopping her.

No matter the amount of redemption, I just can’t imagine Regina actually labeling herself a “hero”, especially not when 24 hours earlier she was asking Robin what he even sees in her. You don’t go from that mindset to “I’m a hero” that fast. Those words would make so much more sense coming out of Emma’s mouth, and the light magic would make so much more sense coming out of Emma’s hands. (They have been prone to OOC writing lately though, so who knows.)
In other news, I could watch this gif all day long…
Bye bye auntie Zelena 😀

I didn’t even think of that. Regina has never seen herself as a hero. But now she does? Lightening fast character development.
