Of course it’ll bring to mind how the character appeared as a child, but how is that supposed to have a detrimental effect, or ANY effect, on the adult version of the character in our world? When I look at Mr Gold, I don’t imagine him dressed like the rockstar pimp he was in FTL, I just appreciate his dapper, Storybrooke style.
Kind of saying a little joke, you know, down playing the seriousness of August a bit. I’m sure that August will have a great effect like Mr. Gold.

If August is Pinocchio the mental jump from the leather clad bad boy on the motorcycle to the puppetty kid in the little buttoned leederhosen . . . awkward 😕
For some reason I’m having “Old School” images of Will Farrell running down the street in his birthday suit, only in this case I’m seeing August as a grown man with hairy legs in the little short, shorts and the tiny feathered hat singing a baritone version of “I’ve Got No Strings.” 😯
April 23, 2012 at 9:05 pm #143450snowfanParticipantSo what do you all think now that we know August is not Bae???
April 23, 2012 at 10:23 pm #143468obisgirlParticipantI haven’t watched the episode yet but if he is not Baelfire, then I’m rooting for maybe Baelfire’s son which would make him Gold’s grandson. Don’t tell me Baelfire couldn’t have told his son about the dagger?
Just not Pinocchio.
April 24, 2012 at 4:14 am #143602sam993ParticipantI think Bae is dead, personally just because in fairytale land Rumpelstilskin had his powers for centuries, but maybe time goes a lot faster in FTL than in our world.
I’m preparing myself for when August says who he is. 😐
April 24, 2012 at 11:49 am #143660hjbauParticipantIf i got to pick i would rather Bae be dead as well and that they show somehow that he lived a good life and that was it. Though i very much doubt they will do that. They would probably rather have him on screen.
April 24, 2012 at 1:06 pm #143676mickeyParticipantBae is not dead. The writers wouldn’t devote so much time to his backstory to make him dead. He needs to be alive to be confronted with his father at least, possibly to be reconciled with him at the end of the series.
What makes their future confrontation interesting is that we don’t know what kind of man Bae has become and what his take on all that happened to him is. I doubt that he had a good life, though, considering the fact that he was dropped alone in a world totally strange to him. He was probably pretty messed up.
The issue of time is not that important, I think. Wasn’t it said that through the portal you could travel through time and space. But it is not clear whether he actually landed in our world or maybe somewhere else.April 24, 2012 at 4:16 pm #143697beauty the beastParticipant@mickey wrote:

For one, I don’t think the Blue Fairy would ask Baelfire to jump into a vortex that would kill him. And two, there’s still too much story to tell about him. The writers sort of left an unspoken “to be continued” on Baelfire’s story. We still don’t know where he landed. Did he land in our world? Neverland? Oz? Candyland? WHERE?!?!?!? 😆

Oh, come on guys, if August admits he is Pinocchio, you’re going to think of that funny blue hat and those small overalls.
Yup, if it turns out he is Pinocchio, that will definitely be the case for me.
April 25, 2012 at 6:44 pm #144034hjbauParticipantI am going to think this.
