Had a ridiculous thought today. My 5-year-old was rewatching one of his favorite Disney movies, “Lady & The Tramp,” which was released when his grandparents were little kids. š
I was working on some cookies and idly watching.
Tramp is a cynic, but a protector of his fellow strays and a thief with a heart of gold.
Lady, which pampered, meets him when she’s been sort of cast out by a intruder on the happy life she should have had. (He rescues her.)
Lady gets tossed into jail, err, the pound while caught up in trouble Tramp originally made.
But when it matters, he comes back to rescue her and the child. (Human baby. Still.)I said it was ridiculous! š

A Death Unmournable
Okay, lemme get this straight:– Emma canāt take time to mourn Neal b/c sheās busy on the trail of the WW. (And throwing angry darts like sheās Graham in his S1 centric) And, more importantly b/c sheās **Emma** and sheās all, like closed-up/closed-off and keeps her emotions bottled up.
– Snow and Charming canāt mourn Neal b/c if they developed a relationship with him in the lost year, they canāt remember itāand prior to that he was at best a recent acquaintance with whom they were cordial but hardly intimate.
– Henry canāt mourn Neal b/c he doesnāt remember ever having met (much less loved) him.
– Rumple canāt mourn Neal b/c the WW has his dagger and is controlling him and most of what he does.
– Tink canāt mourn Neal b/c the show has forgotten that they once intimated that the two were acquainted in Neverland.
– Pinocchio canāt mourn Neal b/c itās unclear if he is part of this new curse, and, having received his āsecond chanceā prematurely, he no longer remembers any of his interaction with, manipulation of, and across-a-decade acquaintance with Neal.
– Belle canāt mourn Neal b/c although WE remember they went on an adventure in the EF, sheās canāt.
– Regina canāt mourn Neal, b/c at best when she looks at Emma sheās thinking about her *own* loss of Daniel, and about how now that extra āpersonā is totes out of the way when it comes to figuring out future Henry custody arrangements.
– and Hook canāt mourn Nealā¦because he seems to have completely fabricated a boy (and a mentor-mentee relationship) he affectionately calls āBaeā that he spent significant time (if not a significant amount of time) with once, long ago. When he thinks about that time, it seems to give him indigestion, but not any actual pricks of conscience for what went down in that past.
That about right? Nobody with the time and/or memory to mourn Neal Cassidy?

That’s pretty much Once’s theme song. They never have time to stand still for a sec. They never have time for anything, cause the big bad is wreaking havoc. If they didn’t try to squish one big story into only half a season then maybe they would have the time.
