I feel so sorry for ‘Killian’, when in a future episode, Emma lets him down as a love interest.

My interpretation of 3×17 was a developing friendship between these two, and in particular, Killian’s rocky road to a caring and conscientious character. I really, really, really, do not see the romance between these two. It does seem rushed doesn’t it. How many times was the audience surprised at past outcomes. Many times. The OUAT writers and AE have already written the scripts for the rest of season 3, and perhaps, a few for season 4. There is a storyline we are not privy to until the deliberate sneak peeks and photos are released for us to speculate on. The writers wrote a scene of a closed casket – why closed? Why didn’t the writers show Neal in the casket? To mislead the fans? Bold storytelling.

Emma’s character, as the writers are developing her, is slowly accepting another aspect of her nature. It’s hard to take in your true lineage, your reluctant mission in life. Of course, Emma wants some normality to balance these forces within her. That does not, IMO, translate into romance, it translates into a friendship. For me, the writers are showing Killian as an unrequited lover, a man who has met a woman that can be a friend, not a lover. Something completely new to Killian and he mistakes it for romantic love.

It’s not wishful thinking on my part to soooooo want to believe the writers have not written off Baelfire. I think I get the direction they are going, there is after all another season to write, more adventures, more villains who pop up. Look at what’s in store next week…….a séance !!!!!! To bring back the dead!!!!!  Whahhhhh!!!

I hope I’m not tiring some of you with my persistant ramblings on my faith that Swanfire is the end game. As AE said, “Happy endings are never easy”

Finally got around to watching it. The bit that seriously pissed me off was Emma saying she was over living in the past. Neal’s barely cold in the ground for 24 hours and they gave Emma that line? REALLY? That’s just…I can’t even with how cold that line was. The only way it will be even remotely acceptable is if it was foreshadowing for her past coming back to her (again).

I was doing okay up until that point. The kiss thing was totally cheesy but I could live with it. But Emma not wanting to live in the past 24 hours after burying Neal is unrealistic. It was totally cold.

Here’s the thing about Emma smiling at Hook and inviting him along to dinner at the end…the only reason she was starting to see another side of him is because of the LIES he told them about the situation with Eric and Ariel.

Agreed. This entire development for them is based on lies and deceit.

I’m just sad Neal had to be sacrifice for this, he could have lived and been a part of Henry life and found love else where. Emma and Neal could have moved on

    YES.

If they wanted to go CS, FINE!!!!! But why kill Nealfire?!

Emma just got a taste of how powerful she is and she LIKED it. (which…I have issues with but I’ll that for later).

That line ruined the show for me.  Really.  At this point I think he could confess all and she’d still be 100% okay with him.  After all, she’s done living in the past.

I ‘m just…. I’m speechless about how this show has gone down the tubes.  How did Wonderland steadily improve over its run while the mother show declined dramatically at the same time?

And if CS gets a TLK before Rumbelle, then I am done.  Sadly, its looking like it’s going in that direction.  At this point I’m ecstatic that MRJ was able to get out when he did.

that line gives the writers free license to never bring up Hook’s misdeed and to never bring up Neal.

moving on is okay, but it’s unrealistic to think it would happen over the course of 24 hours

Gosh lot of pages to catch up on, but I agree with Phee a few pages back about Emma deserving honest love. So far Hook’s hiding:

    1) The fact that he once handed Bae over to Pan.

    2) How, when and where he got the potion/message.

    3) The fact that he left Ariel to find her prince by herself.

    4) That Zelena has put a spell thingy on him.

    5) Probably a truck load of other stuff that we don’t even know about yet (or forgot, it is hard to keep track after all).

Really? Writers? That’s the guy you want Emma to be with?

And uhm… ‘I’m tired of living in the past?’ Really? She doesn’t care if Hook’s hiding stuff? Really? Emma? Not caring about the truth? Really?

And finally LOL @ the Fonz comparison.

@enchantedfan: Your pov makes sense and has good points. I only wish I could see it that way though, because those Emma lines at the end really screamed ‘paving the way for CS here!’.

If you don’t care that he’s lying then he’s allowed to keep lying and just have Emma fawn over him.

This isn’t the Emma Swan I love.

I haven’t actually watched the episode yet, but WOW guys. Sounds like…it doesn’t have Rumple in it and every other likeable character acts completely out of character. WOW.

The forum ate my old post where I’d quoted 6 or 7 chunks of text and I’m too lazy to re-do it, so I’ll just say that I feel you, all of you, all sides of the argument. Half of my brain is saying, “They’re deliberately building him up to be a bad option because nothing is gonna come of it,” and the other half is saying, “But do you really trust the writers to deal with these issues sufficiently?”

This isn’t the Emma Swan I love.

    THIS. *WEEPS*
