That line ruined the show for me. Really. At this point I think he could confess all and she’d still be 100% okay with him. After all, she’s done living in the past.
that line gives the writers free license to never bring up Hook’s misdeed and to never bring up Neal. moving on is okay, but it’s unrealistic to think it would happen over the course of 24 hours
OK, my last post apparently got eaten so let me try this again. I agree with both of you and its part of my reasons for being pretty close to done with the show right now. Emma was my saving grace. As long as she was still being written as the strong, independent, smart woman that we were introduced to in S1, I could suffer through the rest of S3 but she’s crossed the line now to stupid, insensitive, and shallow so that might be it for me. Each week I get more and more thrilled that MRJ is no longer being wasted on this pile of garbage program and I hope he finds something soon that allows him to shine like the awesome actor and person we’ve seen him be when given the chance. What the heck has happened to my favorite show???! 😥
RG-We decided in chat last night that we want to have a Road to Paloma chat party this summer when Mikey’s movie comes out on DVD. I think you were away at that point so I wanted to make sure you knew about this plan. I think it comes out on July 11th so we can schedule our watch party as that date gets closer. I’m SO excited to see this movie!! 😀

Emma has always been my favorite female character and last night watching her do magic was exciting but then she went and gave that incredibly cruel line about the past and I was taken aback. WHAT?! Emma not care about the past????!!!! People can yell character development all they want, it’s unrealistic after everything she just went through.

Yeah, I really don’t know where the writers are going with this, but I’m confuzzled again. Character development… mmyeahwellno. Sorry but no, I ain’t buying it. It’s ooc-ish. But we’ve established that this is a theme now, so.
Maybe she’s doing the ‘lying to herself’ thing again, cause she can’t deal with the grief? I might be grasping at straws here though.

Right now it seems like Emma had more grief the first time Neal “died”. Now it’s just “been there, done that”. It’s a load of BS. Logic would say that she’s not interested in Hook, and that all the lies going around will keep anything from happening, but there is very little logic left to this show. So I give up trying to figure out where the plot will go, because obviously anything that makes sense isn’t BOLD enough.

Yep, this is what I have to believe in order to be able to deal with her words about not caring about the past.

I don’t know what that show was that I was watching last night but that was definitely NOT Once Upon A Time. I’m sorry for any CS Fans who read this but I’m completely disgusted by the 3×17 The Jolly Roger.
Hook being lying & deceitful I think we are pretty much used to but even last night was totally & completely OOC even for him.
Emma wanting to learn magic from Regina well we saw that Neverland but now she has gotten a taste of just how powerful she really is I don’t think it will be something that she can give up now. But the whole I’m done living in the past bit came completely out of nowhere and was completely & totally out of character for Emma to say considering how much she loved Neal. I don’t understand it nor do I get it I mean really WTH Neal just freaking died a couple of days ago basically by Zelena’s hand and we are getting this crap from the writers, Adam & Eddy and ABC just so they can pave the way for CS. Pardon me while I throw up. There was a million other ways for them to go that route without offering up Neal & MRJ as the sacrificial lamb to the slaughter for the CS & Hook Fans which to me was nothing more then fan pandering to the masses. They did not have to kill Neal and deny Neal, Henry, Rumple & Belle their happy endings. At this point I am disgusted with the writing for 3B it is completely all over place there is no continuity to it all. They basically & effectively just assassinated Jennifer Morrison’s strong character of who Emma Swan is supposed to be by turning her into a fan girl for Hook who is supposedly reformed which I still do not buy at all. They assassinated Michael Raymond-James character Neal had him do something which we all know was completely out of character for him. What are they going to do next kill Henry for real effectively ending the Stilitskin-Charming Family so thsat they can merge the Charming-Jones family line. I wouldn’t put it past ABC to order Adam & Eddy to do just that in order to appease the Masses. For a show that is supposedly about Fairy Tales, everything that comes with it like True Love & True Loves Kiss, Belief, Hope, Second Chances, Redemption, Happy Ever Afters & Happy Endings I am not seeing it.
At this point I’m only watching just to see the Michael Raymond-James in Flashbacks. I hope he does find another show that will let him shine for the talented actor that he is.
Heather I love your idea of Road To Paloma Party to celebrate it’s release on DVD. We should definitely plan to do something.

Neal just died and now they’re shoving the whole “Hook is great with Henry” scenes right smack in our faces. And have to blatantly reinforce it every 5 minutes as if they’re trying to convince us this fact. But it just comes across as trying TOO hard.
It’s as if the writers just don’t give a rat’s behind anymore. So they show how Hook is great with Henry by teaching Henry how to gamble and CHEAT. Then we find out Hook taught Henry how to sail with a “borrowed” ship (AKA stolen ship) which Henry is all too cool about. They had to actually killed Neal, a GOOD father, that taught his son how to sword fight in the park and took him out for pizza and replaced him with the step-daddy pirate teaching him how to lie, cheat, and steal. OMG what the hell??? They’re actually promoting this as good???
I was again floored by how OOC everyone is. Charming trying to be “cool” by letting a 13 year drive? What?
Blackbeard another wasted character like Rapunzel that pretty much did nothing and did not help with the progression of the overall story. And he looked more like Captain Hook then the actual Hook. When I watched that scene I had thought Colin’s character was an imposter.
