ParticipantSo there you go. Some interesting answers from JMo and Colin–even bringing up Neal for a CS question in general.
I’m so torn between feeling vindicated, and feeling heartbroken. But I do have to chuckle that the actors took it upon themselves to bring up Neal in answer to a question about CS being meant to be.
Most still heated due to their last showdown with Yvette.
And because she’s been there done that before with the (few bad apples in the) SQ fandom, she should have known better than to tweet a hashtag that she HAD to have known they’d interpret as being a smackdown, (especially when she’s known to be a CS shipper herself). Then she tried backtracking, saying time and again that, “NO ship is canon,” which is a complete load of NONSENSE (for want of a stronger word), because PLENTY of ships are canon, so I dunno where she’s pulling that logic from, and insisting on it isn’t making her argument any more palatable to me.
But quick question that’s besides the point….was MRJ’s Sons of Liberty like a mini series? Because it says it continues tomorrow….
Yes, it was a 3 part miniseries.

I didnt want to say it bc sounds a bit offensive, but in the end yvette is someone that takes her religious beliefs to far away, is not only for SQ, she also ofended Sf last year, by saying that Sfers needed to see the Lord, bc they ship a abuser with his victim, by saying that Neal was an adult that abused a minor Emma. Then calling SQ( LGBT people, even tho not all SQ fans are lesbians or gays) people that were leading a crusade.
The fact is that she could have received the questions and simply dont chosen them, whithout saying anything, bc we all know thats not her that choses the questions, ABC and A&E are, when the cast goes to that panel , they already know what they will be asked.Example, that last year, instead of asking Robert about Bae dead, she went and asked Colin , how hook must have felt sad about Bae dead, i mean come on, that was a obvious question to make it seem liek Neal didnt died for CS, that hook loved Neal very much and never betrayded him.
About Sols, yes, is a miniseries of 3 epis of 2 hours that aired in US in january, but now is airing in some parts of the world as a miniseries of 6 epis with 1 hour every week, That tweet is from UK hstory channel, since it started airing this month.

ParticipantFrom KiKi on Tumblr to some anon saying Bring back neal.
Oh, heavens, no. I don’t want that to happen. I would much rather they leave Neal dead at this point. For one thing, as much as I miss Neal, one of the biggest problems on this show is the way they undermine any stakes that exist by bringing back dead characters so much. It’s something they need to stop doing completely. Killing Neal was a mistake, but you don’t fix a mistake by creating another one.
But really, I don’t want the writing as it is now to touch Neal. The only reason he wasn’t ruined in the way that every single character on this show was ruined was because they killed him offf before they could do that. He simply wasn’t on the shoe long enough for the writers to twist his character around and start writing him completely OOC to service whatever ridiculous and hastily conceived plot. It’s not like he’s some magical character that will be mystically exempt from the bad writing that permeates every corner of this show. As long as he stays dead he remains a fantastically written character, and one of the only characters on this entire show to be written with consistency. Bring him back and that all goes down the drain and he becomes just as poorly written as the rest of them.
Plus, MRJ is an amazing actor who deserves far better than the dreck that is OUAT (and the rather awfull treatment he got from Kitsowitz).
No, keep Neal dead. Let the character remain an actually well-written one. Don’t let them bring him back just to ruin him.

MRJ looks totally chill, happy and relaxed. In regards to his wardrobe looking like what Neal wore, it also doesn’t help that his co-star, Samaire Armstrong, is blonde and looks a bit like JMo playing Emma.

ParticipantOne more thing…I know this post does’t really fall under the purview of “SF” but I daren’t post it outside of this little safe-haven. I just happened to read an interview (on a pro-Hook blog no less) that was given by Colin O’Donoghue on June 24, 2015 in Ireland. The original audio interview can be heard here. He basically just confirmed he was originally intended to be a guest-star initially, but was then promoted to a series regular before his first episode aired.
Interviewer: “What about the fact that you – Hook – your character came on for really an incidental moment or two but they just liked you so much they said ‘no I gotta keep this going?’”
CO: “What happened was that I was supposed to be a guest star for a few episodes and then they, sort of, before my first episode aired, they took up the option to keep me on as a series regular. So. Which is great, I was delighted. The response to the character’s been, yeah, pretty good.”
There you go. It’s not like this truly matters, but sometimes I see a claim that “CS was planned from the beginning,” and I think Colin just set the record straight (again).

ParticipantAnd I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I think Adam’s right…Yvette was referring to rude fans as not being real fans.
I agree. The thing is though, the “bad apples” of the SQ fandom hurt their own “cause” by their bullying behaviour. Such behaviour should not be rewarded because that sends an awful message that its okay to be nasty and spiteful towards others if it gets you your own way. Other fandoms probably have this as well but in the Once fandom, it is most prevalent in the SQ faction. Also it’s not just SQers asking a couple of SQ questions, it’s a few BAs trying to make the whole thing about SQ, which isn’t canon, to the exclusion of everything else.
SQ isn’t going to happen in show, not because it’s LGBT, but because there is a semi-incestuous element there in terms of Regina is kind of Emma’s step-grandma through Snow and Snow still sees Regina as her step-mother. There is chemistry between JMo and Lana but Lana could have chemistry with a brick wall so it might not be intentional between the characters. Were the Snow connection not to exist then SQ would be a viable canon ship.

I’d agree….but then CS happened. It wasn’t canon for ages, but got promoted as such owing to “wish fulfillment” (Adam’s direct words about the S3 finale). Is CS not also a “semi-incestuous” ship? After all, Hook did have romantic relations with both Henry’s grandma now Henry’s mom. Hook being Bae’s step-dad (counting Milha and Hook’s 7-year relationship as a common-law marriage), sorta makes Hook Emma’s quasi father-in-law, as is Mr. Gold. CS makes as little sense to me as GoldenSwan does, which I never really liked even back S1 before we knew Gold was Henry’s biological grandpa.
