Because this show never does anything insulting?
Uhh, I know. But like, Snow and Charming’s true love is what enabled the curse. The show starts with them. They have basically implied before that their love is the best (which is ridiculous but that’s what they have implied). And THAT is like the only reason why splitting a heart even worked for them. If they go now, and say that Emma and Hook can do it too, not only does that imply that their 5 month long relationship is on par with Snow and Charming’s love, but it also just really diminishes the effect of the heart splitting. Now it seems any one can do it. I just have a sneaky suspicion that because Emma has already said this is her plan, that it isn’t going to go down like that. Even A&E have said that it’s not just going to be that easy. Instead, they’ll give us some other bull crap loophole haha. Just not this one.

My sweet RG, u actually think they are worried if they offend SQ or SF, of course not, as long as CS fans get what they want they are not caring about a fanon ship and a dead ship. They only care about those ships to bait, they don’t actually care if they get offended or not.

Which is a shame cause in my opinion SF and SQ (even if SQ are taking it too far) really understood what the show was about and cared about other aspects of it that were beyond their ship, but they changed everything to fit what CS want, who only care about CS and nothing more.

I have a feeling about it as well, maybe all the things we complained about their relationship is actually intentional. There are a lot of signs that suggest that Hook might not be Emma’s True Love like:
It seems you and I are on the same wavelength. I have been posting for years in this thread why I think Hook and Emma’s relationship is deliberately being written as the opposite of true love. That is why Emma’s stated plan to split her heart the way her parents share a heart is doomed to failure (or so I keep telling myself). It would explain so much like why Hook’s cursed lips actually robbed Emma of her special TL magic (what I called the anti-TL kiss) or why his kiss failed to free Emma of being the dark one (even before she turned him into a dark one). So, by Occam’s razor, the reason TLK has never worked for Hook and Emma is because they don’t have true love.
Now I know that the current trajectory doesn’t seem to support this hypothesis (given Emma’s crazy descent into literal Hell to resurrect Hook), but it does seem that this hair-brained scheme to split her heart might not work (for reasons that @thedarkonedearie wrote). I would be more than content if the show ended with Henry being Emma’s only True Love (other than Neal). At least….that is how I hope the show ends.*
Where the show could actually wind up, however, is probably nowhere good. The thing that makes me really cringe is that Emma is currently wearing Hook’s ring as a necklace, which he snatched off of a guy he murdered. (*twitch*) It seems to be a substitute for Emma’s swan necklace (you know, the one born out of true love, which symbolized Emma herself). But hey, at least she gets to wear a memento from a serial killer. Isn’t that romantic?
I really want Hook and Emma to not be together anymore, but even if it’s true, it wouldn’t matter because:
a. Emma and Hook are not the only flaw this series has.
b. The ending isn’t worth much if the journey is tainted.

I’ve personally been going back and forth on this for what feels like ages, and can’t settle onto a single interpretation. I think it’s also possible that different writers feel differently about CS, and there’s occasional dissent in the ranks, where those not so fully sold on CS actually sneak in some kind of double-speak.

if they were actually doing that, they wouldn’t alienate other fans like they do, they only praise cs and their fans, in fact the ouat composer, posted something about TL scene in a song in 513 and even tho many people tag several characters he faved the cs fans tweets, he fav one tweet that said they could see cs marrying at the sound of that song, others tweeted him about snowing, Meg and Hercules and he didn’t fav them, which many are now saying is about CS, and there are reports appears of them filming together at the rain for this epi,so or this is really about CS or if is not,they are lying to cs fans and send everyone else away which is not good, if in the end they won’t go with cs, will mean they won’t have anyone else. So yeah, I’m sorry but I highly doubt they will show CS as something bad, I would believe more that will snow in the summer with high temperatures, than the fact that CS is not endgame, they are simply using what they think sells, they sacrificed many things for now to undo the path they took.

At this stage, I’m still very much willing to accept an “It was all a dream/delusion/fantasy” of someone. Possibily between these two:
– Emma dreaming up some story as she gives up her child and goes back to jail.
– Henry fantasizing about who his biological mother is, and so he dreams up this story about her being a fairytale princess.

So do I. But I’ve been of the opinion that the writers don’t read/watch other writers work for awhile now. Hence why the show feels so bipolar on every character.
At this stage, I’m still very much willing to accept an “It was all a dream/delusion/fantasy” of someone. Possibily between these two: – Emma dreaming up some story as she gives up her child and goes back to jail. – Henry fantasizing about who his biological mother is, and so he dreams up this story about her being a fairytale princess.
I want the show to end with Emma waking up in NYC with Henry and Neal, S3B-present being a bad dream.
