KeymasterIt is hard because i think the writers are that stupid. They have no idea what they are doing, in my opinion. Certainly not when it comes to “true love”.
It’s very hard. And with regards to those parallels I posted above, it’s difficult to know if they writers were being deliberate or just lazy. Like, if it was deliberate then what was the point? Or where they just using “stock” scenes and completely unaware of what they were doing?

ParticipantIt seems too coincidental for it to be unintentional. They have forsaken all logic with the scene of Guinevere saving Lancelot to recreate the same scene from season 4B finale.

Right, it does. But then again what was the point of the deliberate parallels? Either they honestly think that the CS and Arthur/Gwen relationships are healthy expressions of love (even if occasionally problematic–but hey every couple has it problems?) that we should celebrate and root for OR they are under-handily and sneakily bashing their CS ship without actually saying out loud that CS is problematic and terrible because they’re too far down the proverbial rabbit hole.

ParticipantI think they do think that the captain swan relationship is an expression of love and we should celebrate it. I don’t think they even think about the actions of the characters. It is hey, we want you to like this relationship, so like it. Hey, we want you to not like this relationship, so don’t like it. They don’t care about it being problematic, abusive, and unhealthy. They don’t even realize that it is that way. I do think that they just do the same things over and over again too, so having similar scenes between what they consider a “good” couple and what they consider a “bad” couple isn’t something they would even think about.

Agree with you, i mean when fans from many ships even SQ fans complained to Adam on Twiter that was a lack of respect that CS kissed near Robin cofin, and Adam answer to those fans was “So some fans didnt liked it, but i know others loved it”, aka, what u say means nothing as long CS fans are happy.

Ultimately this is where I come down as well. And it goes back to the tumblr post I posted about 4 pages back: the white heterosexual male place of privilege.

ParticipantGoogle mapping Moncton Street where Storybrooke main street is filmed is really quite surprising. It’s a massively long street and they literally film up just one end of it. You can see the “Storybrooke country bread” sign up. Next to the café that is used for Granny’s Diner, there’s “Any given sundae” (with sign) Mr Gold’s shop is really not that far from the library. Whilst the sign isn’t up. If you look on the windows of the actual shop, it says “Mr Gold Pawnbroker”.
It would be a useful tool in mapping out Storybrooke.

CAT DIARY
Saturday, June 4
We started early today, which meant I didn’t get enough sleep, because I’m an incorrigible nightowl. But the energy was great in rehearsal. Michael and I were the only actors, although Rebecca put in a brief appearance at one point. Michael and I have developed a close working and social relationship. He’s hard-working, a quality I admire immensely in an actor, yet he’s not a tortured soul, something less easy for one’s fellow actors to live with. He’s funny and charming and smart, and he reminds me remarkably of my DEADWOOD and JUSTIFIED co-star Timothy Olyphant, who has all those same qualities. Michael even looks like Tim a little. We’re having a great time working together. What works when two actors play an intimate scene like this, working at it for hours on end, is anything that makes them feel comfortable together and allows them to be vulnerable as dramatic explorers. Michael Raymond-James has made me feel extremely comfortable since before I actually met him, when he reached out on Facebook to suggest we might catch some minor-league baseball in the vicinity this summer. He’s a sweetheart and I’m proud to call him my fake son.June 5, 2016 at 8:41 pm #324624RumplesGirl

Exactly, the writers just don’t care and they are too stupid to understand what they are writing. That is why they tell instead of show all the time, they seem to think that we don’t get what they are writing. They think we should find it romantic and like it, when that vast majority of people do not like it and find it extremely problematic. A lot of people have changed the channel. They think we don’t understand what they are writing. When it is there fault, that they for some reason can’t think about basic things. They just think we are all like crazy fanatics, when really i think most people would just rather there be healthy relationships on the show, when there aren’t.
