I think that’s what did it. Michael Socha was made a regular then got to do bugger all but wasn’t allowed to find other work. Thing is though, what story is there left to tell with Merida? There’s some characters where you think “oh they could do this or they could do that” but I’m drawing a blank with Merida. She served her purpose.

Doubtful because Mulan is now in Gotham. I think if that is what they were intending, they would’ve offered Mulan’s actress a regular role. It’s interesting though that they offed Robin and were ready to offer his spot to Merida, with Amy turning it down, who do you think they’ll offer Robin’s spot to?

1) I ship Emma with “Not Hook” so if it’s SQ then I’m 100% on board. @Nevermore is right that it’s easy the most complex relationship on the show now that Neal is dead. It’s also what the writers are showing every season/week while claiming to “tell” CS.

3) There’s a lot of truth in what Slurpeez has been saying—CS just grows in its toxicity and how outrageously bad it is. I just can’t see them abandoning it because it comes down to whether or not the writers recognize the toxicity of their ship. They may actually understand that it’s a truly horrifying romantic pairing (but then again, the white heterosexual male privilege is such that they can’t conceive of writing anything that isn’t “right”) and are only giving ABC what they want but in a way that makes the network mandated ship as ugly as possible. BUT….it doesn’t mean they are going to turn tail and run from it all of a sudden. Ah, to be a fly on the wall.
4) Since I know DSB and Macy won’t pop around to give a theory, I’ll do it for them (and I think Slurpeez knows this one. I think she and DSB talked about it once before): when Hook restored Emma’s memories in 3B (312) the potion was laced with the Sands of Avalon, the same roofie Arthur gave Gwen, which explain Emma’s behavior S3B-present, especially when it comes to Hook.

That theory works, especially bc the potion was made by Zelena to give to Rumple, and we all know how zelena felt about Rumple, also i will always have in my head, that is not even a theory is what i prefer to believe, that Hook was working with Zelena, to get Emma and in somehow prevent neal and Belle of bring Rumple back and that way Neal finding Emma, lets not forgot that Hook said eh heard that talk about neal and Belle wanting to bring Rumple back to get a way to find Emma and Henry, so in my head Hook help Zelena with all the details about Belle and Neal, she knew that he liked Emma, she knew that those 2 would go to the dark castle to find clues to bring Rumple, and Hook somehow knew that Rumple/Neal were the same and Zelena vitims, bc he prevents Emma from opening the door to the basement on her farm, he says goodbye to Neal like knowing he would die, so that is my idea, Hook worked with Zelena to get Emma and make Neal get out of the way.

THAT is an untold story I would very much like to see! Yes, I’ve long thought it could be a real possibility, ever since S3b when DSB proposed the memory potion was laced. After S5a aired, I added the bit about Hook adding the Sands of Avalon to it. He must’ve acquired it when he was sailing all over fairy-tale land during the missing year. 🙂

With both Neal and Robin dead…SwanQueen is without a doubt probably one of the only ships left on this show that would make sense. It’d be awkward considering Emma would be dating her step-grandmother, but what would have been awkwardness flew out the window when we’ve seen worse with the whole soul mate getting raped/impregnated his soul mate’s sister and previous lovers, Cora & Leopold, deciding to have Regina marry her mother’s ex-fiancée, thrice her age. When you compare it to that….SQ really isn’t as awkward as it used to be, and given circumstances, it actually makes sense now.

So long as the writers don’t pair Hyde and Regina romantically together, I don’t mind. I wouldn’t even mind if the Hyde and the Evil Queen personas had a fling, but leave Regina alone. She already lost Robin and Daniel. No more of that for her, please.

But we still have Jane Espenson in the writers’ room offering a non-traditional POV. I also go back to what Adam tweeted once in S3 about some people being right for you, some people being wrong for you, and other people you just choose. At the time, it seemed like he was talking about Emma choosing to go with Henry over Hook or Neal at the end of S3a, but now I’m wondering if there’s more to it.
Neal was Emma’s past and the one who was right for her.
Hook is her present but is totally wrong for her.
Regina is Emma’s future and the one she’ll choose.
If that is how the writers have been setting it up this way since S3a, then suddenly everything makes sense. Otherwise, nothing makes sense with any of the writers’ decisions since S3b.
