Not feeling anything’s an attractive option when what you feel sucks
IMO, this quote still resonates with Emma, especially in NL 301-305. She was “get the job done. Be the leader. Don’t feel. don’t break down.” And then 304 = emotional devastation over Neal; 305= attempt to feel something with Hook; 306 = being honest about how she really feels (she loves Neal); 307-309 = back to being the leader, walls up. 310 = I want to be Emma, just Emma. But being the Savior gets in my way. 311 = Wish granted, too bad it comes with a price.
I predict 312-322 will have Emma as, yes, the Savior, but being Emma again as well. Moments. All those little moments.

I think you summarized Emma’s journey in 3a really well. Here’s to hoping Emma gets more happy moments in 3b! As Emma’s papa would say, life isn’t just about looking for the next fight, but looking for the good moments, too. I just hope she and Neal will actually have time to finally go have lunch together. Is that so much to ask for? You hear me A&E?!

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"Neal moves the plot forward and has emotional ties to several main characters, but the plot and his emotional ties serve his arc as well, and his arc this season has honestly been one of my favorite things and it frustrates me to no end when people pick and choose what parts of the show to acknowledge. His arc doesn’t have to do anything for you, but you don’t get to pretend it’s not there.
Such a good defense! Neal is both a catalyst for other characters and a main character in his own right.
