That said, I do adore my Neal. 😉

As do I, my friend. As do I.

And you’re right–GoldenSwan, WoodenSwan, SwanQueen, and even MadSwan–all existed in S1 but it didn’t feel like a blood bath. I don’t think I evens shipped Emma with anyone in S1. MadSwan to a small extent because Sebby and JMo do have chemistry but after “The Return” I knew that Bae was Henry’s father and that was that.

But now…it feels like in order to enter ONCER fandom you must state your age, rank, serial number, and your Emma ship. Then fall in line with your breathen and don’t even think about crossing ranks.

Do I sound bitter? Maybe it’s the hiatus and the crazy spoilers that are breaking us all….

If it comes down to Hook and Neal and Emma was going to make a decision eventually but then one of them DIES before she does that, her choice is now gone. She is no longer in control of her own destiny and life. It’s you end up with the alive one because he’s the one left standing. I hate that. And if Hook does die and she ends up with Neal…we’ll never hear the end of it.

Precisely. And to me, Emma losing Neal and ending up with Hook would make it seem like she was settling for her second choice. Last time Emma thought Neal died, she was devastated and tried to distract herself from her grief by making out with the pirate. Yet, come light of day, what remains? I don’t see what foundation they have to build a home on or what they even have in common. Is Hook really going to dismantle the Jolly Roger and come live in a home made of brick and mortar? Is he really going to be Mr. Monogamous and Step-Dad of the Year? I have a really hard time stomaching it if that is the direction the show goes. In my estimation, it sends the wrong message to viewers that says, “Good guy who lived a hard lives dies a miserable death, while that poor man’s quasi-step-dad who’s always been selfish ursups his place to get the family nice guy always craved. Moral of the story: it doesn’t matter how much of a bully you are for hundred of years because one week of good behavior is enough to make up for it. Is that the message that A&E want to teach children? Isn’t there enough of that crap in real life? If that happens then I can’t in good faith keep thinking about the nose-dive the show takes.

Lauren-I love that graphic! I miss doing my own graphics so maybe after the Olympics I’ll start tinkering with some of those again. I used to make graphics and montages all the time (I even ran a website for a pairs team that skated in the Vancouver 2010 Olympics) but I haven’t done it in quite a while now. I’m actually starting to miss it! I do need to make myself a signature picture too. That’s been bugging me for while now, LOL 😉

Here’s a pretty JMo to make everyone smile. 🙂

I applaud everything you said and this bit has got me thinking about how disillusioned I feel right now. I said so much more about this over at the death thread but it feels as though A and E wrote themselves into a corner and this is their solution. Adam tweeted the other day that all his “hope!” talk was pre-
    death
which more or less mean, in my eyes, that the spoiler that shall not be named wasn’t planned from the start but grew up as a solution to a problem. Which is really lazy writing.

    Read this on Tumblr:

anonymous asked: whenever you rewatch OUAT season 1 and there’s an episode with little Baelfire and he’s just so sweet and kind and goodhearted to everyone, now do you just think while you watch those episodes, “one day that little boy with a life full of pain is going to grow up and meet someone who makes him unconditionally happy.”

and THAT, my friends, is the beauty of swanfire. that they both had terrible childhoods with abandonment issues. they aren’t perfect. they made mistakes. neal made mistakes. but they love each other. and that’s what it comes down to. even emma says it, ‘i love you. i probably always will.’

because dude, NEAL was the first person she ever loved. and though he hurt her, you better believe that he also gave her a ton too. he showed her that she was CAPABLE of love. and he learned that HE was capable of love. it’s just such a tragic love story and they have had so much pain in their lives but when it all comes down to it, they love each other, man

Even if this becomes AU I will always prefer it as Emma’s happy ending.
