Hi Heather you and I are agreed on this because like you I hate to think that the CS fandom has become that big and that vocal that they believe they speak for everyone else in OUAT Fandom which is certainly not the case. Because I have my own voice they DO NOT speak for me. I hate to break to to the CS Fandom but not everyone is enamored with Hook or CS. I know in the beginning back in Season 2 I liked him as a bad guy but when ABC started overpromoting Hook in favor of other characters and then shoving CS in my face almost every single day my resentment towards the character and that particular ship kept growing but to be be clear I never resented Colin because I’m sure none of that was his fault at all. I hope that Adam & Eddy are decent enough fellows and have enough integrity to not cave to all of the fan pressure and influence of CS to completely change their story and vision for the show because that would be a real shame and very real travesty to actors involved with the show as well as the fans of each of the characters if they changed their story due to outside influences. If they do that to Neal after everything in season 2 & season 3A then Adam & Eddy will never ever convince me that it was was story driven.
But I am remaining on my course that this so called “evidence” is nothing more then a huge misdirection and that Neal will survive and that Emma & Neal will reunite move forward and that Neal will reunite with Henry. After All the them e of Season 3B is Home which is something that both Emma & Neal have always wanted. Emma’s home has always been Neal & now Henry and her parents Snow White & Prince Charming after a life time of searching for them. Vice Versa Neal’s home is Emma and Henry and also Rumple & Belle. Emma, Neal and Henry are what binds all of these fairytale characters together and makers them a family despite their dysfunction.

NYC, home theme, Charley’s girl, and now those screencaps? I think Neal is kind of what breaks the curse for Emma, well not just him but a talisman related to him + that potion.

I agree and if you think about it, it’s what A and E do. They like to play the ships off each other–give both sides something to look at and read differently. In this case, The CSers can say that it was Hook who went to get Emma and gave her the potion that resulted in her memories being restored, but the SFers can say that it was only after she was prompted by memory flashes of Neal or evidence of Neal.

I watched the Cricket Game today. Something Mr. Gold says about the dreamcatcher really stuck with me. I had just read all of the new (and drudged up) stuff about New York City Serenade, and so it was especially meaningful for me to be reminded of this:

From The Cricket Game:

Mr. Gold: Do you know what this is?
Emma: A dreamcatcher…
Mr. Gold: Well… it’s capable of catching so much more.
Belle: What is that?
Mr. Gold: Memories.

 

This scene in the Cricket Game taught us that dreamcatchers catch not only dreams, but memories too.
Emma has lost her memories, and she’s going to be returning to the object that has captured so many memories of hers and Neal’s.

Emma’s face when Mr. Gold brings it out, and the way she says dreamcatcher, it seems like she is having to catch her breath. She is taken aback by it. This is such a significant object for the both of them. It has captured who she was, who she wanted to be, and who she is.

I love that it keeps popping up, but I love even more that we got this tidbit from Mr. Gold, way back in S2 to let us know it captures memories as well as dreams. I think it is quite legitimate to theorize that it helps trigger her memories, because dreamcatchers being memory-triggers/keepers has been established in the mythology of this show. I really don’t know why people who theorize this way are being treated as if it’s impossible. Just because it may seem “shippy” doesn’t mean it has no bearing. It’s been established in the show!

Anyway. It will be interesting to see how it’s handled.. 😀
