That’s true about Rumple but the villains on this show tend to make some sort of fatal flaw with their plans which usually ends up being their downfall,
Ah hubris. It gets them in the end. I have been wondering if Rumple has any measure of self awareness and free will and is managing to evade Zelena’s mind control. If Zelena thinks she has all the pieces and doesn’t ask the right questions, then it’s possible she goes into battle not fully aware. And then maybe your theory could really play out!!
I feel like she’s very cocky, like she thinks she has all the answers but in reality she’s missing a few key pieces, and that could end up being her downfall in the end. We’ve never really seen Rumple being controlled by anyone else since he’s always had the dagger so this should be interesting to see how it works with him not being in control of himself and Zelena having his dagger. Did the first Dark One that we met back in Season One have self awareness before Rumple became the new DO? We may have to watch that episode again at some point this weekend. 😉

Zoso was aware enough that he was able to slip outside the Duke’s control and visit Rumple and play his little mind games. The Duke couldn’t control him 24/7 because he was off being Duke-y (heh) and so Zoso had a measure of free will.

I was under the impression that when he took dear ole dad down with him that he broke the DO curse. Is it possible that he’s not the DO but is entertaining her and making her think that she’s in control when in reality he’s taking advantage of her trying to take advantage of him? Did I miss something somewhere that would disprove this completely?
Interesting thought and that could very well be but his name was still on the dagger in the last episode so unless he’s enchanted it somehow with his own name, somehow that DO curse is still in effect. Personally, I think they’ve got their work cut out for them in explaining how his sacrifice didn’t break that curse in “Going Home”. How could it still be in effect after what he did for everyone?! No clue. I think we’re gonna be in the dark for a bit about the real status of the DO curse. My guess is somehow it’s still in effect unless this weekend’s episode tells us otherwise which is entirely possible knowing how A&E like to toy with us, LOL 😉

Pretty much everyone thought he broke his curse in 311 and then we got the pics of 316 where Zelena is confronting everyone in the street and she has the dagger in her hand
It hasn’t been explained. At least not well. But it’s like the DO curse had no where to go when Rumple stabbed Pan so it just returned to Rumple himself. Well, that’s one theory.
Phee’s theory (please tell me if this is wrong) is that what Belle and Neal bring back is the Dark One, not necessarily Rumple himself. this is why in the promo he looks green in FTL but looks normal in SB–just like Zelena who looks like everyone else the cursed town

That’s basically it, yeah, though I think it’s actually Zelena that does something to bring back the Dark One. The lighting in the screencaps from the promo, I swear the BelleFire scene is at a different time of day to the scene with the dark stuff running into the circle and Rumple rising up. Anyway, basically, I’m thinking that Zelena found MortalRumple, but he was no use to her as a mortal, so she’s gonna summon back the Dark One and it’s gonna use Rumple as a flesh suit again.
