And yes, the whole point is emeralds are expensive so it’s likely it’s a cheaper, and thus less quality stone ( The big four are diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires. As soon as they are off-color or have inclusions like hairline cracks or dirt value drops considerably. )
So maybe this is why their love is less successfull? Bad quality stone, bad quality love 😛

First of all mr. Gold’s beautiful moonstone ring (I love moonstone) is a seer’s stone, and Gold is a seer. It also brings emotional balance… not a bad idea for someone who is trying to control the Dark One inside of him. I think the ring might prove important for that.

Seeing the newest pic AND the newest script tease, the whole “emotional balance” thing is really making a lot of sense for tonight’s episode!!

Reading SpinningGold’s post about the moonring bringing emotional balance, the moonring in the pic, and knowing the quote above in the spoiler tag (probably referring to Emma using magic, just a hunch) makes me think that there really is something to it like that!!

I thought it was an Opal..which legend has it, can make the wearer invisible. Sounds like something Robin Hood would try to steal from Rumple in 2×19. Just my guess!

Yes looking up close (which wasn’t possible until now) I have started to wonder too. It could be, but I miss the flecks you usually see in opal, like someone threw oil shine glitter in it… It still could be either (or more like it, a piece of paste to resemble either one 😆 )
