There may be a chance for Bae to really be dead, but I don’t think the writers in the first season would devote two episodes to the subject and then pop up and say, “Oh, he’s really dead.” But you never know what twists they’ll come up with to keep us on the edge of our seats. It would be a fitting retribution to all Rumple has done.
You know how sometimes certain thoughts just pop into you head with no evidence…just gut feeling? Well, last week when I was watching “The Return” and Henry popped into Gold’s store, the only thing going through my head was “Grandpa”. I’ve thought before this episode that Henry might be kin to Gold, but it just kept circling around and around in my head so much that I had to rewatch that scene to see what they actually said. I think part of it was that Henry’s one of the only people Gold has actually been kind of nice to in Storybrooke without something being in it for him.
Does Gold know that Henry thinks Storybrooke is populated with fairytale characters? I’m trying to think back on all the conversations about it and I can’t remember if Emma mentioned something to Gold or not. I don’t think Henry would say anything and Regina doesn’t seem like she would admit it to Gold that her son is trying to bring her down. Hmmmm….am I forgetting a conversation somewhere?

ME TOO!!! After listening to last week’s podcast, I am convinced that Mr. Gold is Henry’s grandfather. And if that’s the case, then there’s a possibility that Mr. Gold will be secretly going after the custody of Henry himself. In the sneak peek for tonight’s episode, Mr. Gold refused to help Emma win custody against Regina. As soon as I saw that, I immediately thought, “BECAUSE YOU WANT HIM FOR YOURSELF!!!” π π π

Interesting thought. I don’t think Rumpel is going to be reunited with Bae, however, if Henry was related to Rumpel through Bae, it would be something different. Though if that is the case, I can’t see Henry or Gold being aware of that fact at this moment in time.

Don’t think we’ve seen it blatantly stated, but I’ve always assumed that Mr Gold knows that Henry believes.
April 29, 2012 at 3:48 pm #144621JosephineParticipantI don’t really think that Gold refused to help Emma because he wants custody himself. I think he refused because he wants her to go to August for help so he can convince her about the curse.
However, if there is a custody battle, it might somehow come out that Gold is related through DNA testing or some other means. Seems after the Katherine situation, anything is possible regarding DNA in Storybrooke, even if it was tampered with. Of course, that would open a whole new can of worms with Emma about Gold and his son. Thinking all this though, I don’t think Gold’s going to get Henry. Unless they are ballsy enough to really go there.

I know what you mean. For the longest time I ‘ve had the feeling that James is Rumple’s son,, though all logic would argue otherwise. The trigger for me was that Rumple sniffed James’ cloak, just as MM sniffed Emma’s baby blanket. But it would give Rumple another reason to be so invested in Snow’s future. It’s too farfetched to be an idea, but I harbor the feeling nonetheless.
April 29, 2012 at 9:27 pm #144651hjbauParticipantI also think that the reason Rumpel refused to help Emma in the clip was because he wants Emma to do it herself and speak to August and maybe believe.
April 29, 2012 at 11:02 pm #144659charmingParticipantSo now not only are you saying that Rumple can be Henry’s grandfather but also James’ father. I understand using your imaginations to speculate and theorize and you know that is all good. It really is but if there is no evidence to support any of this you are all making wild guesses based on what you all want to happen. There is nothing to support either James nor Henry is related to Rumple/ Gold. Do not get me wrong I can except it if they do say so. However, we do not know the fate of Bae. Nothing suggests anyone knows for certain of it either.
April 29, 2012 at 11:29 pm #144661hjbauParticipantI don’t think that it is possible that Rumpel is Charming’s father and Henry’s grandfather. He would then be Henry’s great grandfather. I actually find that very unlikely.

I hope so. I want Emma to win at least one battle against Regina. π
