ParticipantAlthough heck, maybe Milah is Elsa’s second cousin once removed or her bastard half-sister or something, haha.
Hahahah, please, just NO.
I’d like to join the not hating on Milah crew. I had no real sympathy for her as a character at first, but seeing her with Rumple and in love changed my mind. . We saw Milah as a happy and proud housewife/lover and as a bitter and bitchy drunk and no in-between. We have no backstory to see what drove this woman. Does abandoning your family justify murder? Never. My gripe with Rumple here is that he showed no regret or remorse in killing her in cold blood. This wasn’t some nameless villager or dukes man, this was the woman he married and the mother of his child. It’s unfortunate, but we see this happen all too often even now. Women loose their lives for choosing to be independent or speaking out. And this is the world that I’m sending my girls out to face. Scary.
The irony is that Belle, lovely Belle who is willing to forgive anything, got to be all snarky with Hook and Regina over their treatment of her (and rightfully so) and they apologised for it. Does Milah get a second thought? Or how about an apology to Hook for his hand? Nope. Twue wuv not only breaks curses but has the ability to sweep malicious deeds under the rug.
You know, my daughters teacher had a great idea. It was a long winter, the kids were cooped up and getting all nasty with one another so she had the class do an apology circle. All this kids got a chance to face the classmates they felt had disrespected them or had made nasty comments to and everyone had to opportunity to say “sorry”. And you know what, that’s all it took to make things right. Okay, so we’re not dealing with 12 year olds on Ouat, but sometimes the characters act like it. The first step to redemption is admitting your wrongdoings and then being forgiven.
those two actors just went for it on the set. You know it was really like-we just wrote that and they just kind of-you know..
And what great acting it was!!! Wonder if JMo needs another stand in for next season? Happy to volunteer!!!!!

ParticipantIt would be interesting to see those flash backs, yes- I seriously doubt we’ll get any though
, which is a shame, as it could be a great way to ‘grow’ at least 2 of our main characters directly & ALL the other mains indirectly, through their connections with either Emma or Belle.
Yeah, I’d love to see that too, but I also don’t think it’ll happen. We pretty much know those backstories now, so I don’t see that contributing any more to the narrative. Unless maybe Belle finds out what Rumpel’s been up to and gets really mad at him and he remembers Milah being really angry at him before she left or something. But of course they only have so much time each week, and I imagine we’ll be getting a lot of Elsa flashbacks in the near future too. Although heck, maybe Milah is Elsa’s second cousin once removed or her bastard half-sister or something, haha.
They could possibly tie the Milah flashbacks in with RumBelle and CS in season 4. Milah/Rumple marriage- Rumple not being open with Belle like he wasn’t being open with Milah and Rumple realising he needs to stop keeping secrets from Belle otherwise his new marriage could fall apart like his old one did. Hook/Milah- Hook reflecting on the new love of his life contrasted with the old love of his life.

ParticipantThanks POM. I needed that after the garbage I just saw on Twitter. The level of stupidity out there just astounds me.

Agreed! Usually I don’t run into too much on my Tumblr; I only follow a very few blogs – but of course the stuff I read today got me curious and I had to check out Twitter (I’ve been actively avoiding Twitter for some time because it’s gotten so negative)…and that was definitely a mistake!
Although — the crud you see on other sites, and even sometimes threads here and in chat, makes me appreciate our little thread. We manage to have some good debate and yet we usually manage to keep things nice and civil – maybe because we try to respect each other??? Why is that such a difficult concept lately? Look at our last few pages – we’ve had some good conversation about Rumple and Milah, and multiple points of view have been expressed…and instead of getting upset, you have given me some excellent points of view to think about and appreciate! I think we need to bottle this goodness and start selling it!

ParticipantWhen it comes to CS debate, I stick to two places: here and my tumblr.
My opinion on Milah, I think what we need to know about her story is done. To be honest, I don’t think we were meant to know more about her character in general other than her main two character identifiers: Rumple’s wife and Hook’s lover. Bae’s mother also but we knew very little about her background in general. This makes me conclude that she is like the Blue Fairy = she is a plot device character. The first episode we met her, it was to explain the rivalry between Hook and Rumple. Second episode she appeared, to explain why she despised Rumple’s so much.
If we learned anything else new about her, it was from Rumple or Hook (the drawing thing). I do remember writing a CS/Milah fanfic trying to fill in the gaps of Hook/Milah relationship but I don’t think we need to see anymore about her character, especially since Hook put her into the “first love” category. Milah = Hook’s past and Emma = Hook’s future.
I’m okay with that. Now where I think Milah might come up again in next season, will probably to parallel the Rumbelle relationship since they are currently married. I want to see how Belle deals with Rumple’s big lie and if she behaves like Milah in how she treats Rumple.

ParticipantI just wanted to add something to the Milah debate, in that although it is hard to imagine a woman falling out of love with her kids, I know it happens. My friend’s wife said that to him when she left. She regretted it after a while, but her initial reaction was that she wanted nothing to do with any of them. So in a way, it is possible to understand Milah associating Bae with Rumpel and needing a break from both of them. And it sounds like she did regret it since Hook told Bae they were going to come back for him when he was older.
Hee! 🙂 I know it may sound a bit trite, but I actually would love a connection between Elsa and Killian and/or Milah. Whether it was a wronged friend or a relation of some kind (and blood feuds are always the juiciest feuds) who is out for revenge or something on Killian that the others can rally against as well. I think that would put him properly into the ‘goodie’ camp.

ParticipantOk totally random question – how do you post gif sets without all the internet speak mumbo jumbo? I can never get it to work…!

ParticipantOther than things brought to attention on forums, I don’t “do” Twitter and my Tumblr account has always been a pictorial refuge from words, but if what happens on The Twit can’t stay on The Twit, and causes such a deliciously pleasing visual post as PoM’s…wellll I won’t complain!
Hubba Hubba!
It will definitely be interesting to see how they tie Elsa into a vault-sealed uncontrollable magic to Rumple.
Having found Zelena instantly on my “kill her Kill her KILL Her” list, I hope they aren’t as over the top with Elsa. Though I think Ana was infinitely more interesting, Elsa is the flashy draw. If they can refrain from making the show one giant Disney Frozen spin off season, and address the darkness of the Snow Queen, we could see some intriguing crossed history with The Dark One and The Icy One.
The possibilities you all have mentioned could be great fun for our favorite Make Out Champions as well as the Newlyweds!
