I had my backup ships! TinkerHook! CaptainFire! CaptainCharming! CaptainCobra! Snowing’s growing on me. Rumbelle’s always pretty interesting and surprising. So I’ve gotten to see some of my ships, but others have been blown out of the water because of the direction the writers decided to go. Sure, I’m saddened I don’t get to see some of my backup ships, especially CaptainFire, but I still love the show in it’s entirety.

You make a good point here.  Captain Swan wasn’t my first ‘ship in OUAT. I fell in love with Rumbelle first and I still kind of like it, but I’m teetering on giving up altogether due to Rumple’s recent actions.  But you also can’t watch this show for just one ‘ship or character either.  OUAT is an ensemble cast and what happens with ensemble cast, season to season?

They change, not everyone is going to get equal screen time either.  I’ve seen this on my soaps where characters I would love to see regularly don’t always get screen time and the writing changes so much due to storyline demands.  I think ultimately, you have to watch the story first and make ‘shipping second.  Because the story is what’s more important.

Ultimately, as much as I love the romantic pairings, I watch for the entire story and every pairing, not just the ones I’m particularly fond of. I think that’s why I didn’t get upset in the finale when they ‘interrupted’ Rumbelle’s wedding with shots of CS and OQ. Because I’m not concerned with how much screen time a particular couple gets; I thought it was a lovely way to show where each couple is and how though the words Rumple & Belle spoke were to and for each other, they also highlighted where the other couples were in their relationships. It was a comment on romantic love in general in the OUATverse.

    YEEESSS!!!

    I totally agree!!

One of the giggle moments from the movie- Rumple was on fire with the sass- he taught Regina well lol 😉

Thanks everyone for the  response re: On the Waterfront.  I will probably watch it at some point.  It sounds intriguing.

I hope it is  good role for Colin.  He got panned in The Rite.  I never saw the movie so I don’t know if it was any good.  I hope this new movie is good for his career.

Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.

Did he? I thought he was pretty good. Accent was a bit dodgy in places (but that seems to be a trend 😉 ) It wasn’t the best film ever, but pretty watchable. Not as scary as I hoped. Now Storage 24 is a shocker of a film (but well worth a watch if you enjoy bad horrors) and his character wasn’t very nice.

If one is to engage with the primordial forces of darkness, one must expect a little social awkwardness

Ellemo78 – Sadly yes.  He did get panned.  I suspect it might have been the direction he was given.  I think that sometimes critics think everyone needs to emote all the time, but in real life most people are not very emotional.

I know right! A&E are hardly what you’d call subtle about it lol 😉
