Regarding Henry, that’s something I’ve been wondering about too…from what we’ve seen so far, it doesn’t look like he’d have a problem with their relationship, but (a) that’s not very interesting and (b) he’s what, 12-13 now? I feel like getting moody and causing trouble just to cause trouble start to become a common thing around that age, right? Also I could probably see Henry having a problem with Emma “moving on” so quickly after Neal’s death, even though they haven’t really been together for over a decade.

And if they go the real Snow Queen route–which I’d love but doubt will happen–I think it’d be very interesting to have Henry maybe get upset about Emma’s new relationship and then go off sulking when he’s picked up by Elsa and sort of kidnapped or lured away like Kay in the original HCA story.

And of course I too would LOVE to see some “Hook-clashing-with-modern-technology-and-culture” scenes…the possibilities are endless! 🙂

First of all YeeHAWWWW the images are back and what an eyeful PoM 🙂 Many thanks!!

Henry? Oh I think he will be very important for/with/to Hook.

Comic relief for one thing (so perfectly suggested PoM 🙂 )

Also, Henry, as some have pointed out, didn’t really know Neal that well. Oh, he now knows he died *a hero* as his Mom said, but still, even with all his memories now intact, there isn’t much there. He has bonded with Hook in other ways and the continuation wil be fun and I think potentially poignant.

Henry will also be important if there turns out to be a Regina vendetta against Hook as Emma’s lover because Emma brought back Marion. Regina can’t battle Emma head on because Emma now has controllable magic. If Hook is a target, Henry wouldn’t be too fond of Regina trying to hurt someone he likes, and someone his mother loves.

I really don’t see there being any problem with the *memory* of his father. Hook knew his father as a boy. That is another bond he and Killian have.

A&E will have some seriously difficult scripts to write to handle all the potential dramas. Guaranteed chaos 🙂

    Twice is nicer 🙂

I think Henry acting out when it comes to Hook is taking the easy road.  It’s the story we always see – the struggle to make a blended family work.  However, what I’d like to see is Hook and Henry to continue to bond, and primarily over Neal as opposed to Emma.  I’d like to see Henry get to ‘know’ his father through both Hook and Rumple – his father isn’t there to help him grow into adulthood but those that loved Nealfire as a child can and should step up and help Henry become the man they believe his father would want him to be.  I think that’s a far more compelling story.  I’d also like to see Emma learn more about Neal through Hook and Rumple’s eyes.  To me, it keeps Neal’s memory alive and allows the characters involved with him move on.  Of course, that’s a tall order for the guys who love their flashy toys!

Hahaha I remember the Killy and Kitty gifs!  I love ’em!

By the way, before the last blow up in the fandom, some of us started making a conscious effort to bridge some of the gaps on this forum at least by going back into some of the character threads and discussing.  It’s been interesting – but it’s shown that when we make an effort to be respectful and open minded, we can have some good discussion.  Sometimes we’ve had to agree to disagree (we started with Emma…but we’ve moved on to somewhat more neutral territory with Rumple) but I encourage those who don’t venture out of our the thread to check it out.  It’s nice to see that in some places, at least, we can let the crap that gets slung around be put aside and let differences be constructive, not destructive!  🙂

I agree and Yes! I’d like to see this too.

Wellll, besides the connection of Hook to Baelfire I mentioned, I think Hook and Henry should bond for themselves. They should know each other on their own merits and terms. Forward progress.

I genuinely understand the noble sentiments of “knowing who his father was” and “being the man his father would want him to be” but at this stage I don’t give Neal much credit for being all that noble! Henry is far nobler (grin)

Henry should know lots of positive things about his father, yes, especially that Neal loved him, but Neal’s memory shouldn’t be the driving motivation of those around him now.

Also, I am going to go against the grain and suggest that David and Killian be more hands-on models for Henry. (Actually, now that I think about it, Henry has been a pretty inspiring role model for others! More of a good person to emulate than his father, etc., in many ways)

I liked Baelfire because of his deep, intense passion. He was headstrong and troubled, supremely interesting. Neal fell so short of that personality for me that I… openly… never cared for him much. And unfortunately, fair or not, my lukewarm feelings for Neal may be further tainted by the myth-spinning Saint Neal Brigade …but even so, I’m more concerned that Henry develop bonds with all the actual men in his life now and not the person his father was or might have been.

My hope is that they give approaching-middle-school Henry better personal plot direction(especially if he goes through a growth spurt and suddenly is as tall as everyone else, HA!)

    Forward progress.

As far as Emma is concerned, she knew Neal well. It is more important that she have deepening relationships with her father and her Love.

Rumple is going to have his hands full with Belle and Elsa …and Regina when she finds out he killed Zelena. I think they won’t have time to delve into Rumple/Emma/Neal territory.

Neal’s memory will always  live on through his namesake …and reruns when they go into syndication! (Snarky wink)

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: it really is not awful to have more than male figure in your life growing up. I love my dad but when you ask me how I define family – I’m going to include more than simply my parents and brother. Because I’m close with a lot of my extended family that includes my cousins, aunts and uncles. The cousins I’m close to in the states are all male, the female ones live in the Philiipines but I have the cutest 3 yr old niece to make up for that.

Frankly, I’m not really worried about Henry. He’s matured a lot since we first met him and mellowed out some I think. Plus, he not only has Charming but Rumple as his granfathers and I’m sure if Henry wanted to know about his dad as a child, Rumple would tell him. He also has Robin Hood and now Killian too and two moms who love him so much- and did I mention how Henry’s mellowed out since we met him?

the kid is going to be fine

I just had a random thought…. Henry is literally the only person in SB who hasn’t been to EF/FTL ….. A&E are going to have to fix that lol 😉

I’d be fine with another romp through EF/FTL if it was with Henry & one or 2 men folk from his life- Killy, Robin or Charming- not sure about Rumple simply because his magic makes everything too easy 😉

I’d never thought of that, but you’re right, @Surayya!  Yes, we definitely need to see the EF through Henry’s eyes, it would be so much fun.  Haha, the ‘boys’ go camping…I can see it now.

On another message board a poster mentioned the possibility of Henry traveling to EF. In a very slight and sassy breech of unwritten forum etiquette I am quoting myself and my reply to her, here:

“I really like the idea of Henry going to EF. It would be risky, but imminently fun for Jared and the viewers if they didn’t throw too thick a protective wall around him. He’s got the genes in him to be quite the adventurer. And it would be a hand held game of World of War Craft come to life for him :) Pretty heady stuff for a middle school kid!”

I hope the opportunity presents itself, and not in a situation where they have to rescue him, but where he can have fun participating in whatever *rescue* or curse breaking that might occur.
