ParticipantI was just thinking how slow our thread is going these days- I really miss some of our ever enthusiastic ‘old crowed’- I wish the stupid shipping wars on here hadn’t chased so many CS’ers off of this site altogether.
Seems this thread is only really being held up by approx 10 or so of us atm & that’s with ‘stuff’ going on to discuss :/ Last year it was major speculation over what was going down on show etc. at this stage- it’s such a shame the stupidity & rigidity of some fans have diminished the presence of other fandoms on certain sites (& this applies to all heavily biased sites).[adrotate group="5"]July 29, 2014 at 8:52 pm #279026obisgirl
ParticipantI created a pinterest board for Colin & Jen’s interviews at SDCC.
There’s not many up now but since today was the last day and people are traveling home this week, more interviews should pop up within the coming days.
OH, thanks for that! THat will make it so much easier to watch all the vids
You’re welcome 🙂

ParticipantSaw this post about the latest Hook possibly getting his hand back that I think bears noting.
And I agree with all of it because we weren’t introduced to Hook from the start of the Crocodile. He became that persona at the end. He is Killian Jones at heart. With or without the hook, he is Killian Jones. Hook is a persona.
Yeah, I totally agree. I also come from the view point that a fake limb or in this case hook, dont make the person a person 😉

ParticipantI’m not taking it that segment as seriously as some of the fandom, primarily because it’s two lies and a truth. But I’m really fine either way, if the hook stays or if it goes. But he definitely should not be defined as a character because of that hook.

ParticipantHonestly, I don’t really care one way or the other about whether or not he gets the hand back. I think if done well and with purpose, it could be quality storytelling. No, the hand doesn’t make him ‘whole’ and the hook doesn’t define him for me. If, say, it were something like Emma wants to give him back his hand as a way to show him how she feels about him, and while trying to gain control over her magic, that would be fine. Or Rumple reattaching it as a symbol that they both are truly done with trying to exact revenge against each other, that would work. Ohhhh…wait, maybe Henry finds it and is the catalyst for either scenario — that I would love.
I guess that’s because I don’t really see him as either ‘Hook’ or ‘Killian’ right now – he’s trying to figure out who he wants to be, and I think the ‘true’ person is a combination of both ‘Killian’ and ‘Hook’….he believes in Good Form and is now assessing what that means and really working to become a better person. But threaten someone he loves and I think he’ll be downright vicious. That’s what I’d like to see with Killian – I want to see his relationships with people other than Emma grow – I want more Captain Charming, Captain Cobra…haha, I would love a somewhat awkward exchange with him and Snow. And I want more emphasis on the fact that Killian’s not just changing for Emma. Emma was simply his inspiration, that ‘nudge’ he needed to truly change his ways and become a better person, but I think the desire to do so has been there, brewing under the surface, even since we first met him – hence his disgust when Cora killed an entire settlement, saving Aurora’s heart from falling in the portal, throwing the swordfight…
I can’t remember if anyone’s posted the interview with Colin talking about the costume change – it’s hilarious how downright giddy he is. Or the exchange between him and Jen about the clothes he hasn’t changed in 300 years. Poor guy, I can imagine after a while leather pants and a 50lb leather coat in the middle of summer gets a little bothersome! I know some people think the actors and writers erred on the side of caution for the most part (not you, Eddy) but Jen and Colin’s banter during the interviews and Colin’s squeeing over a costume change really got me even more excited about S4!
And remember – just because the game’s called ‘Two Lies and a Truth’ doesn’t mean Eddy didn’t cheat and just give us all a bunch of fake breadcrumbs to obsess over! (I can totally see him in the writers’ room, clasping his hands and giving a good ol’ evil ‘mu-ahaha!’ about setting the fandom into a frenzy…!)

My thoughts exactly 🙂

I agree on both accounts. But he’s Captain Hook! He can’t be Captain Hook without the hook! Otherwise he’s just another hot pirate (which I’m not complaining about) but “Killian Jones” isn’t the famous fictional character, “Captain Hook” is the famous character and why put in all that effort to get Capt Hook if you’re just going to get rid of the Hook part?
If one is to engage with the primordial forces of darkness, one must expect a little social awkwardness

ParticipantOh oh! Also, what I want to see in S4 – a good Regina vs Hook Sass Fest. Just full on smartmouth quips from the two of them, trying to best each other. I really don’t know who would win that one.

Bahahaha… that is totally something I would did/did do back in the day to my younger siblings (ok, so that’s a lie…I still do do it to them Mwhahahaha)

For me, it’s like why they call Regina, ‘Regina’ & not Evil Queen or Snow ‘Mary Margaret’ instead of Snow 😉
I never really liked Hook/ the story of Peter Pan, so I guess for me, I’m not attached to those characters & dont just see “Hook” in Killian- to me he’s always been more of the Dread Pirate Roberts- who happens to have a hook for a hand, than he has ever been “Captain Hook” from Peter Pan. I think a lot of that comes from the fact A&E chose Not to have Hook interact much with Pan at all, so Killian never really became cemented as the actual Cpt. Hook in my eyes- he simply stayed a ‘Dashing/Charming’ Pirate, who had a hook for a hand lol.Oh oh! Also, what I want to see in S4 – a good Regina vs Hook Sass Fest. Yes please!

ParticipantOk, a quick look back at the last few pages and I didn’t see this gifset and it just popped up on my Tumblr dash again, so I had to post it because I love it so much — Jen & Colin banter doesn’t get old!!
Hehe, her ‘manboy’ smells. But she still loooooooooves him.
