The JR to Hook is the chipped cup to RumBelle, the yellow bug to Emma, the book to Henry. the swan keychain to SwanFire. The JR was Hook’s home, not just a roof over his head. Emma knows the importance of home, she’s been looking for it her entire life. So for Hook to give up his home for her is a major thing in Emma’s eyes. In season 2, Emma said to Snow “I’m not used to people putting me first” to which Snow replied “Well get used to it” (before changing that to “Emma, you’re not cute and cuddly anymore so our relationship isn’t what I wanted. Charming, let’s make another baby!”). By giving up the JR, Hook has done the one thing that means so much to Emma, he’s PUT HER FIRST.

That’s why it so weird for Snow to be so ‘Team Neal’ when she hardly talked to him at all in season three. What does she know about him other than the fact that he’s Rumple son and he had a relationship with Emma? NOTHING!! And now the Snowing baby is named Neal. It’s still my head canon that was something Snow pushed for, not Charming.
I agree. Snow seems like the pushy one in the Snowing relationship and Charming just seems to roll with it though he stood up to her when it came to not naming the baby Leopold. Did anyone else get a little annoyed how Snow demanded that Charming drop everything to meet the midwife when he was trying to find out who the WW was then had a go at him because he seemed preoccupied at the meeting?
Snow seems to have her own line of logic that she follows rather than seeing the reality of consequences. For example:
Snow’s logic:”I’ll tell Cora about Regina and Daniel then Cora and Regina will make up and be closer than ever”.
Reality: “I told Cora a secret Regina told me not to tell especially to Cora, now Daniel’s dead”.Snow’s logic: “I’ll name my new baby after Neal (even though I didn’t interact with him much whilst he was alive). He died a hero so that we could find out that the woman I’d so willingly invited into my life on the off-chance we might’ve been friends in the year we previously couldn’t remember was in fact the Wicked Witch. It’d be such an honour to Neal and everyone will be happy that I’ve taken the time to honour Neal in such a way”.
Reality: “I’ve just named my newborn son after my daughter’s ex-boyfriend who left her in jail and gave her giant sized trust issues. It’ll be a constant reminder to Henry that his dad is dead and also a reminder to Rumple who’s family now that his son his dead because of him.Snow has gone down my list of favourite characters whilst Hook has shot up the list.

After all, Emma went thru the same thing with Henry; never got to see his first smile, first steps etc etc and I’m sure there’s a TON of regret there too. She really can’t fault MM for wanting the same things she herself missed out on and she knows Snow and David love her.

Of course Snow should’ve had another baby if she wanted one, but the reasons she gave for wanting one made it seem like the baby was going to be replacement Emma (which is why I had hoped the baby would’ve been a girl because the drama potential there would be huge and could’ve led to some great father/daughter scenes between Emma and Charming). Snow’s reasons were less “I’d like the chance to actually be a mother and raise a child” and more “Emma, you’re to old for me to play mom to”.
You’re right, Emma did miss out on Henry’s first smile/step/word etc but imagine if she said to Henry “Hey kid, I love you and all but I’m having another baby because I didn’t get to see you take your first step etc”.
Have another baby by all means, but don’t make it seem like the only reason your having one is because your first child is all grown up.

Keeper of FelixWorse is that nothing the writers say or do is good enough. If they mention Neal, it’s wrong because it pours salt in the wound since Neal is no longer on the show and is only paying Neal stans lip service; if they don’t mention Neal, it’s wrong because the writers are ignoring the importance of Neal. It’s also wrong to assume that the actors are not friends with MRJ. Everyone in the cast seems to get along and to be friends. I’ve heard JenMo, Colin and RC say nice things about MRJ after he left the show. The actors don’t control the show and didn’t make the decision to have Neal written out of the show. I don’t know what they expect the cast to do. Are they supposed to stage a protest because Neal was written off? I don’t get it. We have no idea what went on behind the scenes and that’s the way it should be as the cast and crew are professionals.
I agree with you @sweetgrass. This is what upsets me most of all, the HATE JMO, Colin A and E etc etc have received because they somehow didn’t make a show of “supporting” MRJ or by going along with the “crap” (not my word) that they believe the show has become. I LOVED S3! I LOVED the character development. Admittedly, I was not a big Nealfire fan but he served his purpose on the show and those loose ends have been tied up. The End. Don’t really care if they even bring him up anymore. MRJ as moved on to greener pastures and by his tweets it sounds like he’s having a blast, so lets just leave it at that. Do anyone honestly think that MRJ is upset over leaving OUAT? Get real, it was just a job. Calling A and E “trolls” for killing him off and getting angry with the cast for not publicly tweeting MRJ over his new project is just stupid.

All those times you see Emma walking away from him, that isn’t Emma saying “I don’t want anything to do with you“. It’s Emma saying in her childish way “I’m done with this conversation. I don’t want to discuss this.”
Agree with pretty much everything in your post, but the way I see her ‘look deeply into his eyes & then run for the hills’ actions & now going off of what JMo has said in interviews since the finale, I’m pretty sure that was Emma going “oh crap, these feelings are getting intense- I could so easily go there with him, but I cant go there….
