ParticipantI am disappointed that Killian hasn’t said anything to Emma yet about the Rumple blackmail situation.
I was as well- then remembered it’s been like a day or 2 since the date & a LOT has gone down… I’m going to rewatch from 404 & pay particular attention to everything that goes on with Killian after Rumple manipulates him into doing his bidding “forever”, as I’m a little confuse at the disconnect between his behavior with the curse & his behavior now :/
Belle is one of my favorite Disney princesses and I have not really liked the OUAT version of the character. I also thought the way her mom died was pretty stupid. Saving books? I was hoping there was more to the story but I guess not.
Yep, agreed with all your points here. My take on dealing with Once’s Belle is also in my response to Bo 🙂
What I REALLY like is all the mystery surrounding her. How did she get to our world w/o the curse? What happened to the middle sister? What did she do to Anna? etc. I am not fully buying into her reason for being a villain though. I understand that she is supposed to be crazy but the whole I am going to destroy an entire town of people so I can have a family that loves me for who I am thing seems off to me. I had this problem with Zelena though too. I am hoping there is more behind that prophecy.
YES! Agree with all of this too 🙂
I am spoiled now.. not enough Captain Swan I can’t really come up with any theories on why Colin hasn’t been seen filming other than the Snow Queen did something to him and he is out of commission until she is defeated. I would be shocked if he died both for plot reasons as well as network reasons. I really doubt it. I am hoping the Rumple blackmail discussion comes up soon.
I hear you- I cant think of anything else either- unless all Colin’s work has been indoors- I mean I know he’s been filming, but we havent really seen anything about what he’s up to…… it’s driving nananas!
Killian wont die- it just isnt going to happen, it makes zero sense from a plot or financial point. Like I say, he is filming, just cant see it & we have more of his back story in 4b & Emma fighting for him too…. I also want the whole (I cant call it blackmail sorry), manipulation thing comes up soon too. I’ll die if A&E leave us with that over our heads during the hiatus…. or even worse it doesnt get resolved this season :0

ParticipantOh finally a Belle I like. And it happened to be creepy dark evil Belle. I really loved Belle confrontation with herself (very Jekyll & Hyde!) It just goes to show that Belle does have some deep reservations about herself and Rumple and that she isn’t so naive, but always chooses to see the best in her husband. I did love her guilt trip to Rumple – I won’t keep secrets from you because I know you won’t keep secrets from me. Ha! I do wonder whether that was her passive aggressive way of saying, ‘I know the dagger is fake, you better tell me or there will be a-trouble brewing sonny boy’
Oh, I LOVE your interpretation of Belle here- I may steal it for myself now 😛
Regina is back to snarky and not nasty – I honestly think last week’s episode was a chance for her to vent because she realised that she can’t save Marion, hence all the ‘you’re ruining my life’ rubbish she was spouting at Emma. Now she has vented she’s back to snarky better dressed Regina (it’s all in the clothes). Heehee Captain Guyliner.
BAHAHAHAHA, Love this part of your post lol & thats a very good point… hmmmm, I like it.
So I wasn’t the only one who thought “ooh backstory!” when Hook said he was a kiddie once too. Also I thought it was a bit rough of Emma to say ‘how would you know?” about scars from childhood usually running the deepest. Just because everything currently is about you, Emma, doesn’t mean other people (ie your boyfriend) don’t have issues in their past that perhaps you might like to hear about one day. I note Emma never says she’d like to get to know him better (but perhaps it’s just a matter of time) And we get the 200 year-old thing. Has she forgotten that Neal was only about 10 years younger than Hook? She didn’t care so much about the age gap then. Anway that’s my small gripe for the day.
Hehe, I dont think she’s serious about the age thing, it’s more her way of trying to stop tipping right over the edge of falling entirely head over heels in love with him- her leaning on the door like it was the only thing keeping her up, with that “Oh crap, I love him… like LOVE, love him…. oh crap” moment she had, was very close on the heels of her deciding to let love back in/ go on a date with Killy (like 2dys after wasnt it)- it’s been what 4- 5days total since she & Killian went back in time? (The time line is so condensed these days it’s hard to sort it all out in SB), that I can understand her hesitancy still, as its not really a lot of time to really get to grips with totally loving someone & allowing yourself to embrace all of them & you as a couple, when you’ve been so thoroughly closed off for so long. She has had some impressive growth & like she says, she trusts Killian- I think it’s more her she doesnt trust yet & I think thats her remaining issue there- will she be able to recover if it doesnt work out etc.
Althoough it could simply be the way the writers have decided to go to remind the audience & inform the new audience that Killian is still “Captain Hook” & as such hasa rich backstory with Rumple (I’m fully expecting that Milah comes up because of this fact- other wise the Rumple & Killian animosity just wont make sense to new viewers).
I think the Emma wanting to know more about Killian is coming- I think Killian is just as reluctant as Emma has been to talk about his childhood/ younger years… although it could have come up on the date I guess…. maybe that is what kicks off Killy’s backstory?
The Anna not being able to climb the mountain to the Trolls I thought was weird. Why was she able to do it in a wedding dress (4×01) but not in her mountain hiking gear? Did they come at it from a different direction? I don’t know, that was strange to me. Oaken was cute. Oh and I did like Belle’s spiky coat. Did anyone else think it looked like she had raided Wilma Flintstone’s wardrobe?
Haha, you noticed that about Anna as well did you- I’m just going with they came at it from a different direction- I also noted that Elsa & Anna popped up to the Rock trolls like they were a short hike away, yet this time it was more like it was at least a day trip if not longer lol.
LOL, now you mention Wilma’s dress, I cant unsee the resemblance lol
I did like Emma’s ‘you really just said that, didn’t you?’ reaction to it.
BAHAHAHAHAHAHA, it was a fantastic reaction wasnt it LOL.
I am thinking of going on a bit of a spoiler blackout though. I’m enjoying the little surprises I’m getting with each episode, but I think I’ll enjoy them more without spoilers.
I wish you luck with that- if I was a stronger person I’d give it another go, but I’m not lol…. although as far as spoiler go, I havent really seen much of anything about anything …. it is kind of weird, normally we know all about whats coming next but I’ve only got a few little tidbits & I have no idea when they’ll come up or how they will play out o.O Having said that I’m not actively searching out spoilers either- I just see what ever I happen to come across, which isnt a lot… & that is with being a member of a ONCE spoiler group! (Thanks to all the indoor filming I guess).

ParticipantI was responding to @ellemo78‘s post and it reminded me of this gifset that I wanted to post here: “Emma Swan Has Just as Much of a Villain’s Backstory as Anyone:” (Source)
That person has SUCH a good point; I’ve thought about how sad and horrible Emma’s life was, and about whether the villains were justified in what they did based on what happened to them, but I never really put it together this perfectly. Emma has been through just as much–if not more–than the villains on this show, but she’s still an incredible person who, aside from some minor stealing for survival, has never descended into any kind of “villainy”. This is one of the reasons why I love this character so much!
I saw that as well & I agree- Emma is proof a crappy life doesnt sentence you to being a bad person, it is possible to raise above your circumstances.

ParticipantTo Hook’s ‘don’t I know it’ remark about there being many blonds in the world, I thought was just a refernce to his previous womanising days. Charming said he knew of Hook’s reputation in the EF, so there must have been a few blonds in there somewhere. Although most of the time you do see him with brunettes. I did like Emma’s ‘you really just said that, didn’t you?’ reaction to it.
I took that a reference to how long it took Killian to find Emma in New York, notice how they were talking about the amount of blonds in “our world.” I just started imagining how many blond women Hook ran up to thinking they were Emma lol

That’s a good point, I know she wasn’t being serious, but it does make sense that’s she’s still trying to keep that little bit of distance between quite liking him and truly madly deeply in love with him. And that little shaking herself out of a momentary reverie after the “we don’t make eyes” remark backs that up. She’s really enjoying just being in his company.
All those little moments are just so nice and perfect and not too over the top and I know it’s all about to become all angsty *enjoying while I can, but secretly hoping for major angst* 😀
If one is to engage with the primordial forces of darkness, one must expect a little social awkwardness

I think Anna was just trying to show off in front of her new found friend and fell flat on her face LOL.

ParticipantO.O So many pages to read!!!
I’ve been bussy yestarday but still reading the thread a bit.
In regards latest episode, to quote my husband: “To little Hook” 😀
“Captain Guy-liner” made my day.

ParticipantWow! So of course our thread is ON FIRE as soon as 1. the site mysteriously translates everything into Egyptian hieroglyphics rending it completely incomprehensible to me and 2. my life gets ridiculously busy as soon as the hieroglyphics issue is resolved!!! I feel like I missed weeks of school and need tutoring to catch up! So glad to see everyone has perked up and is posting again!! That’s the spirit!!
This will be a jumble of thoughts . . .
First, I can’t BELIEVE all the creamy CS goodness we have been getting! It’s a dream come true. It’s strange to have the tables turned – we used be THRILLED if we just got them looking at each other because we never got anything, now we have been spoiled and we are saying there wasn’t enough CS in an episode!! But I’m not complaining at all – I love all the little moments they are giving us.
I LOVED the little flirty bit about all the blondes in our world from the last epis ode and agree with whoever said Killy’s probably DID realize just how many blondes there are in our world when he was searching for Emma. Something else I thought about – there have been a lot of “Killian your Colin is showing” gifs on tumblr lately. That scene showed up as one. I thought that could be a very sweet little shout out to his blonde wife, Helen, very easily disguised within CS banter on the show – because he did have a bit more Colin mannerism going on there, not so much that he wasn’t Killy/Hook but, enough. Since I find the fact that Colin is so loyal to his wife incredibly appealing – that’s the head canon I’m going with : )
Not trying to be controversial or disagree with anyone because I completely understand WHY people are annoyed by Regina but it just doesn’t bother me. I kind of get the feeling that Regina is SUCH is major character on the show that they write her personality to reflect whatever way the wind is blowing. Like sometimes, the overall plot calls for her to be evil or nasty to Emma or everyone in general so that’s how they write her, but the next week the plot calls for her to show how she has made progress with redeeming herself so they write her that way. And depending on what the plot is or which character centric episode the week is – Regina tends to be the character who goes back and forth personality wise the most, so much in fact that you can get whiplash trying to figure out why she was almost humble and contrite last week but is a raging hormal PMS witch with a vengeance vendetta this week. I’ve noticed it the most this season. However there is also the saying “The mirror has two faces” and we ARE dealing with a freaky mirror this season that shows a different side of a person and we have seen that the title of an upcoming episode is Heroes and Villains so it could be that they are doing it on purpose to show that Regina is extremely conflicted about who she is. If you think about it – Regina, Rumple, and Hook would not be surprised by who they would see talking back to them in the mirror or what they would be saying about themselves – they have already openly talked about how they feel about the dark parts of themselves as villains. Only the “heroes” might be upset as Belle was. But Regina is the one who has TALKED the most about wanting to no longer be an evil person because she has Henry to motivate her. So it could be they are doing it on purpose to show just how conflicted and messed up she is. Who knows? As long as she keeps the “Captain Guyliner” comments coming – I just “Let It Go.”
Can’t wait to see what kind of “Oh, crap!” moment they have ahead for our ship. You know they are setting them up for some kind of horrible ordeal. I don’t think they are killing Hook off, at least that would surprise me – unless Colin wants off the show for some reason but I haven’t seen any indication of that anywhere. It would seem bizarre to kill Hook off after everything else Emma has been through in her life, now that she has found someone she loves – it would actually be anticlimactic to do everything they have done with them and then be like “And Emma’s Black Widow tradition continues . . .” Seriously, the poor woman would never get another date . . . Ever.

ParticipantI understand where you are coming from, I pretty much answered where i;m coming from re Regina in my response to Bo, so I wont repost it here
Oh, your attitude (and pretty much everyone else’s around here) is definitely the healthier one that’ll let you enjoy the show more than I will. But I know I have a tendency to hold grudges to some extent, and apparently that includes fictional characters, haha. (Perhaps that’s why I can identify with Hook to an extent. Although of course I’ve never tried to kill anyone. :-))
Althoough it could simply be the way the writers have decided to go to remind the audience & inform thenew audience that Killian is still “Captain Hook” & as such hasa rich backstory with Rumple (I’m fully expecting that Milah comes up because of this fact- other wise the Rumple & Killian animosity just wont make sense to new viewers).
I think it was Robert Carlyle who said in a recent interview that her name does indeed come up at some point. I just hope they don’t make it seem like Rumple was the victim in their situation.
Oh, I LOVE your interpretation of Belle here- I may steal it for myself now

Haha, nice–I see what you did there!
