ParticipantI changed my screen name from rumplegoldfan to killianhookfan. I just couldn’t take my own screen name anymore – especially after last night. I love Robert Carlyle and I love the role Rumple plays on the show, I mean you need a villain that everyone hates. And RC plays mean and nasty better than anyone and I love his creepy Rumple. But since CS is my OTP I just really struggle with what is going on with him right now – even though I love the Killian and Gold scenes.
So it’s still me – I think my screen name just better reflects me now.

ParticipantI know how you feel. It’s been very difficult for me to like or feel sympathy Rumple this season. Last night, I think was the boiling point for me. I didn’t want to be right that he would use the hat on Emma but he did and he lied about the method that would be used as well. He also flat out admitted that he knows who he is, a selfish man and he doesn’t care.
Rumple is continually digging himself deeper in his lies and manipulations, that when the truth finally does come out (it has to), I can’t feel sorry for him when he loses everything. By everything, I mean Belle.
And I’m teetering on whether to feel bad for Belle as well. I mean, last night, Rumple left his bed in the middle of the night and slipped off to trap the savior in the hat. What did he tell Belle he was doing, or was he really that stealthy when sneaking out of their house? Is Belle really that blind to not see what kind of man she’s married to?
It’s even harder to discern exactly what Rumple wants. It’s not always clear on screen.
Speaking of Rumple, I wrote a lengthy meta comparing his and Killian’s heart.
And wrote more metas.
Why I think Gold just saved Killian from the Shattered Sight Spell?
And just a reminder, Eddy teased that we would see Emma fight for Hook this season And we’re going to see in what context.
Possible Captain Swan true love’s kiss this season?

ParticipantOk. I can not put my thoughts together. All I can think of is Killians beautiful heart, and phone confession and Emma recognizing something is wrong with him. This ship is getting better and better.

ParticipantI loved that episode! Wow that was crazy though. My thoughts are a huge jumble.
I have to admit that I am kind of liking that Rumple is back to his old self. I think both Regina and Rumple being fully redeemed would make the story a little boring. I also think freedom from the dagger (especially after he had been Zelena’s slave) was a realistic reason for him to risk everything. That being said how dare he pick on CS! 😛 I find it interesting that he told the Snow Queen he only had to betray Emma (and SQ) in order to get what he wants…. like if Belle found out she wouldn’t feel betrayed? Or killing the mother of his grandson, the woman his son loved isn’t a betrayal of the memory of Neal? Just shows the level of rationalization he has reached. I also think its crazy that he thinks he could get away with something like that and not be caught. Perhaps them not finding out about his murder of Zelena has made him that much bolder.
Killy finally telling Emma! Too bad she will never hear that message…. Obisgirl I like your theory on Killian and the new curse coming. Obviously Emma noted that something was off with him already but I think something more needs to happen for her to know he is missing his heart.
I liked that Elsa went after Emma. I think its nice for Emma to actually have a true friend. I am sorry but what is with the Charmings lately? They keep making bad parenting decisions. I can’t believe they were actually okay originally letting Emma lose her powers.
I liked the convos between Regina and Snow. I think it is nice that they actually TALK now. This is going to get me in trouble with the OQers but I did not like the Robin/Regina plot in this episode. I do want them to get together but the whole situation just felt off to me.
I think the Snow Queen is kind of being overshadowed by Rumple a bit. Not sure why when it didn’t work with Elsa/Anna that she thinks her curse is going to work to turn Emma to her. Its not like if she turns from her family she has to turn to the SQ.
Well… here comes another curse cloud. Have to wait an extra week urgggh.

It shocked me there was less resistance from both Charming and Snow once they learned from Emma herself that she was going to get rid of her powers. Like they didn’t ask how that was possible, if it was safe…they just accepted it was okay and moved on. Only Elsa and Hook were the only two concerned about what that meant for Emma; Hook knew how it was probably going to happen and Elsa realized what Emma was going through because she went through the same and saw, that it wasn’t okay.
I think it also reinforced how Snow feels about Emma.

As a parent myself, I really didn’t like how they portrayed the Charmings last night – especially Daddy Charming. I am NOT one to jump on the “Out of Character” bandwagon but I felt like something in particular he said was totally out of character. At one point Charming said something like it might be better for Emma to go ahead and get rid of her powers because it would allow her to be normal. That is not EVER something that Daddy Charming would say about Emma and that is a terrible thing to say about your child, no matter how old they are, I was not surprised that Elsa AND Regina were horrified by the fact that they felt that way.
Seriously, substitute ANYTHING “different” in place of “magic” and see how it sounds to have a parent say it might be better to have their child get rid of it so they can be normal. “It might be better for her to get rid of her asperger’s so she can be normal.” ” It might be better for her to get rid of her wheelchair so she can be normal.” “It might be better for him to get rid of his dyslexia so he can be normal.” “It might be better for him to get rid of his blindness so he can be normal.” Wow, that sounds like a super parent. Because the message you are sending is that you are NOT normal the way you are. Granted, parents want to do everything they can to help their kids live the fullest life possible, so doing whatever they need to do to help and support Emma with her magic – wonderful. Just like good parents would do everything they can to help and support their kids with any of the above.
“Normal” is a relative term – and actually one of the things that I found surprising about the fact that they chose to have Charming use the word. We are talking about fairy tale characters from the EF Forest here. Is it really NOT normal for people to have magic there? Can someone please describe what IS considered “normal” to those people???
In my opinion, each individual person’s life is normal to each individual person. My son is a ballet dancer. One of his ballet dancer friend’s mom has a huge problem with the fact that her daughter doesn’t have a “normal” childhood because she has to spend so many hours at ballet. When she starts to complain about this I always ask her “What is a normal childhood?” She says something about going to parties and football games and being a cheerleader, and having time to go out with friends. I point out that I was very involved in musical theater at that age and didn’t do those things and ask her which one of us was normal and which one of us was abnormal? Or is your daughter the normal one and BOTH of us were abnormal kids?? My childhood was normal to me, her childhood was normal to her, her daughter’s is normal to her.
I just don’t believe that the man who told his daughter that she needed to keep living and learn to find the good moments in life would then turn around and say – but maybe being normal would be better than being YOU!

ParticipantI find it interesting that they have Regina and Henry reading Wolverine comics whilst the whole Emma giving up her powers to be “normal” situation is going on. Obviously Wolverine is a part of the X-Men who are mutants who are hated and feared by “normal” humans because of their powers.

ParticipantKudos to Hook for confessing to Emma even if she didn’t get chance to hear it.

ParticipantDo you guys think Hook might make another confession to Emma, or will Emma figure out that he’s missing his heart and he won’t need to confess?
