ParticipantI loved the casual intimacy between CS too. Hook waiting at Emma’s bug with two cups of coffee is probably how they started their day every day since Rumple left. They’re both so happy and in love, it’s really beautiful.
I think the moment that stood out to me the most was when Hook was lurking in Granny’s hallway in deep thought and Emma caught him and the moment he started talking about what happened with the fairies, Emma reached up and put her hand over his heart. She’s there to remind him, it was not his doing but Rumple’s. Rumple was the one pulling the strings. He was making Hook do his dirty that he did not have the guts to do himself because he wanted to keep his hands clean.
But I also loved that scene because of Emma’s reassurance. She knows how much Killian’s changed because she knows him. She trusts him. And Rumple sorely underestimated how much Emma truly loves Killian, that he thought if Emma knew the truth, she would leave Killian. But we saw the exact opposite in the winter finale. She ran into the clock tower to save him!
I also loved that scene because it’s obvious how much she values Killian’s heart and trusts it.
Killian and Emma have such a long way since Tallahassee. Emma’s changed a lot too. She goes through this emotional growth each season that adds to her character and helps her mature. She’s an adult but in a lot ways, when we first met her, she wasn’t emotionally mature you know? She was still a lost girl with a lot of pain in her heart.
I just love how Emma is more open now, trusting and omg, even believes in hope and happy endings. I really look forward to the rest of the season and what’s coming their way.

ParticipantI think I’m really looking forward to Emma being there for Hook, supporting and encouraging him. It’s nice to see them both so relaxed and happy, enjoying each other’s company. I was really happy with the Hook and Belle scenes. I’m really looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

ParticipantI am so livid right now guys.
I started posting a new Captain Swan AU fanfic a month ago on archiveofourown.org. Reviews this far have been fairly positive.
And then last night, I got my first bad review. The person was rude too. She called my fic sick and my Emma (who is a fairytale Princess in this one) OOC. I think I spent about 10 minutes editing my response to her, as kindly as possible. And then she comes back with a novella size rant.
I’m like OMG, seriously? Was that even necessary? She says that she’s turned off to reading anything of mine in the future. (Which, if I never her see again, I seriously won’t miss her).
I think what bothers me the most if this principle here. This goes beyond insulting my baby (my fanfic).
Fanfics, fan art, paintings, all artists spend a lot of time working on this stuff. A lot of love goes into creating things. It’s really insulting to the artist when he or she put so much time into the final product and then there’s one person, who flat says without any tact whatsoever, it’s crap.
What is the matter with you?
I took drawing I and II in college and we always had critiques for all our work, and those critiques were always given in a thoughtful manner. Never this upfront rudeness.
It’s okay if there’s something you don’t like, but seriously, would have been much better if it was phrased in a way that wasn’t so openly insulting to the artist.
I just needed to rant about that because omg, this girl obviously never learned tact and how to be polite online whatsoever.
At any rate, next chapter, that very rude reader is going to look an idiot anyway.. If she even bothers to stick around for the next chapter and if she does, I deserve an apology.

ParticipantSo, I sent an abuse report to the admins at ao3.org, then this morning I discovered the delete and spam buttons on my iphone for the site. But I think she’s gone for good, which I’m totally fine with. If she stuck around and kept on posting nasty stuff each chapter, that would have been very problematic. It’s not really a loss to me.
Everyone else for the most part loves reading my fanfic and are very kind and supportive.

ParticipantIf it’s any consolation, Obisgirl, I’ve been reading your fic and really like it! You’ve definitely got me curious to see how it turns out and I like what you’ve done with the king and Emma’s dilemma…although that news in the last chapter! If my husband dropped that bomb on me after the wedding….yikes! I’m looking forward to the next chapter to see what unfolds…

ParticipantThanks Jenna
I’m so glad you’re enjoying ‘If You Love Me’. I put so much love into everything I write because I want the story to be perfect, you know? I wasn’t kidding when I said that I revised chapters like a 100x over. I do have a lot of faithful regular readers who trust in me and know, CS is ultimate end game. Just gonna take time to get to that perfect happy ending, but it’ll be worth it when it happens.
That nasty girl it appears is gone for good. And I did find the spam and delete button on ao3′.org’s comments.
I finally watched the latest episode of Once. It was very good. I love how much Emma’s changed from since we first met her in season one up to now. Season two Emma is so different and so far away from the person she is now. It’s so glorious to see how far she’s come in terms of being open, trusting and believing.
I love how Emma addressed that she’s used to people letting her down because it happened so much to her in the past, that she became conditioned to think the worst of people. And that doesn’t just include Neal, but also Ingrid, Lily and whoever else pops up from her past who disappointed and left her alone. These disappointments and abandonment is why Emma had her walls, to protect herself from being hurt because people she loved/cared about kept on hurting and disappointing her!
It’s also why it’s hard to develop trust with Emma.
And I loved Killian’s response that he has no intention of letting her down. Hook understood who Emma is from the beginning because he’s experienced the same things she’s experienced. He knows how she’s been hurt, what she needs and the kind of growth from her was never going to be easy but Emma, she’s getting there!
I read a wonderful meta not too long ago, outlining why Emma and Killian compliment each other so perfectly, that there seriously is no question that they are true loves. There was even a table included in the meta to show why these two are so perfect for each other.
Now, you can add to that list:
Emma
Has been let down by people she loved in the past
Killian
Has no intention of letting her down ever

ParticipantI think the way they phrased it was so extremely important – “I have no intention of letting you down”. It may happen – no one’s perfect, but he’s going to try his hardest to never let it happen and never intentionally do it. I think, for someone like Emma, who’s been let down so much, this is far more poignant than someone telling her “I’m never going to let you down”. She’s been let down too many times to know when someone says that, there’s no way they’re going to just prove themselves wrong.
March 14, 2015 at 12:22 pm #298558obisgirl
ParticipantI think the wording is important too. Killian would never intentionally hurt her, so he’s going to try his hardest to not let her down on that promise. Of course, there’s going to be mistakes along the way. No one is perfect but intent is what’s important here.
That’s why I think Snowing’s secret is going to hurt Emma more than Killian’s dark past because their secret directly affects Emma. And this was the same problem with Neal and Ingrid and Lily. All of their secrets directly affected Emma, one way or another. Hook’s secret has nothing to do with Emma, it’s just more about his past; which Emma knows wasn’t all rainbows and sunshine and it has nothing to do with her. Emma also knows how far Killian’s come to and that he isn’t that person anymore.
It’s sort of a fulfilling prophecy in a way. Snowing wants to hide their dark secret from Emma, it ends up causing more harm to Emma than they wanted (and probably what causes to cross over to the Dark side of the Force…sorry, wrong fandom but seriously could not resist).

ParticipantJust a little reminder, today is the last day to vote in the 2015 TV’s Top Couple Tournament. We’re down to the final four. Captain Swan is among them. The top two voted today will make it to the final two, I believe.
The poll closes tonight:
Sunday, March 15 at 5 p.m. PT (West Coast)
Sunday, March 15 at 8 p.m. EST (East Coast)For tips on how to vote with multiple tabs open, please see this wonderful post here.
Captain Swan is currently holding a strong lead with 70%; Stefan and Caroline from The Vampire Diaries is @ 53% and Ichabod and Abbie from Sleepy Hollow are in third with 46%.
West Coasters have an advantage because Once air later for them, there’s more time to vote.
