ParticipantEmma acts like an addict now. What Hook had done is a book examlpe of dealing with and addict who refuses to see his/hers addiction. Telling her that he loved her, didn’t mean he does not love her anymore. Look at the context – he told her that Emma, with walls was the one he loved, the true one not power addicted manipulator. He was protecting himself, which was the right healthy thing to do.
It’s a wake up call. Addict must understand that he/she can’t have everything. Emma has to choose- power ot love. Had he told her he loves her it would be a signle for Emma she can screw over everyone and still have everything she wants despit her wrong doings.
True love, real life love does not mean you have to cudle your partner when they screw up. You have to be able to call them on their bullshit.
I’m still amazed how healthy the relationship is being portrated. Usually tv show a very twisted concept of love. A love in which you have to lose yourself is not a good thing.

No I definitely see that and I do agree. He was being manipulated and I am glad in part that he didn’t give in and be an enabler. However, it still hurt to hear him say that line and I am torn if it would have been better for him to say something else. In another forum other CS shippers were making some good points about it being a lose-lose situation. Yes, he hurt her by saying that line, but this was while she was playing mind games and forcing him to give an answer. Killian doesn’t want her to let him go, but he also doesn’t want to be vulnerable to the dark one. So he basically gave a partially true answer.
BTW, I am still suspicious about Emma’s motives – I find it really hard to believe she wants to snuff out the light with the sword+dagger. I suspect and hope she is trying to fool the darkness inside her and I think she wants to do the right thing, but is just using (manipulating?) the darkness to get it done.

I am too. I’m thinking along the same path. I think there is still a strong internal fight inside her and we’re only seeing one side of it. There are just some things she says that if she is just blindly obeying the Darkness kind of doesn’t make much sense. It feels like she’s pushing the ‘heroes’ to really work out what happened in Camelot and that she needs them to work it out. All that stuff with Excalibur and the dagger is sating the Darkness, keeping it happy. If Emma didn’t want them to know, why would she be so adamant that Regina can’t be the Saviour, and why say ‘are you worried Henry will really find out what happened?’ Also with DarkSwan’s first appearance, why make such a bold statement ‘you will all be punished’, if she didn’t want them to find out what happened? It feels like a reverse psychology, pushing them into acting by saying they can’t do it. Now to what end, I have no idea, but I’m hoping, hoping (!!) there is more to DarkSwan that what we’re seeing.
On the Jolly Roger scene, there was a moment in one of the times when Emma said ‘trust me’ that I almost believed her. Not to trust her right in that moment, b/c she was obviously there for the cutlass. It felt like a “I know things look bad now, but I’m doing something that will help us all in the long run. I can’t tell you everything b/c that will put you in danger, but if deep down you really do trust me, everything will work out” (I may be reading too much into this 😉 )
Emma looked so distraught at the ‘loved’, but I agree that it was definitely the right thing to do. It doesn’t mean Hook is going to give up on her, but it may also help Emma fight the Darkness. If she really wants to be with him, she needs to fight against the thing keeping them apart. It’s the whole love vs power thing. It didn’t work for Rumple and Hook saw it not working. So he definitely knew what he was doing. There’s still hope in his statement.

Me too!!! Ugh is it Sunday yet? This is where netflix has spoiled me I have gotten used to binge watching my favorite shows.
By the way has anyone seen the sneak peak and promo? From the press release and videos it looks like there will be some nice CS moments in the flash backs. I think at one point they go off on horse back <3
Also, anyone read Once upon a snarky recap? I love her reviews and blog. https://onceuponasnarkyrecap.wordpress.com/

ParticipantAAah so many feels from tonight’s episode! I know this thread is pretty inactive but there were so many fluffy CS moments tonight that made me happy 🙂
Killian’s concern for Emma and his solution to help her escape the demons was ALL THE FEELS! <3 It is lovely to see hook be so supportive and their ride together was very sweet. Also that scene in the stable was so precious! It was adorable to see (a) henry squirm and be embarrassed about Violet, (b) Emma’s shock/motherly concern and (c) Hook getting a kick out of both of their reactions.
This episode did have some faults, the sand of avalon is a very convenient plot device for example, but overall the CS moments (and some nice snowing moments too) really helped this episode shine!

ParticipantThis thread is a little dead, but it seems people have been scared off the forum, which is a shame.
I LOVED Hook’s reaction to Henry’s crush. Absolutely perfect. It made me giggle so much. Then more pain when you see how happy Emma and Hook are and compare to what happened last week. Does Emma remember all the horse riding and flowers and declarations of not giving up on them? (I assume so) And she gets a cold Hook dealing with a Dark One last week. Poor Emma, I just want to give her a hug.
Bits of the ep I wasn’t too keen about, but I did like the idea that Camelot is an illusion. It still is a broken kingdom.
I had a thought the other day while watching bits of the S4A arc final. Eddy/Adam (not sure which one) had mentioned S5B arc would be “hell”. In the S4A final Hook tells Gold something about the Dark One not being so fortunate in the next life. Rumple answers that Hook will have a long wait among the fire and brimstone (for that next life). The Dark One is in its ‘next life’, please don’t tell me Hook is going to hell. Hopefully I’ve just joined dots that aren’t there.

ParticipantTGIF shipmates! Boy this has been a rocky season! BUT I want to spread some positivity and hope. I posted this on tumblr already, but thought I would dust off this thread and share some thoughts here. As we prepare ourselves for this Sunday’s episode I made a list of the top 10 things I am feeling positive about for my OTP. Most of these are related to spoilers so I am just going to spoiler tag the entire list.
1. Sunday’s episode will end with our heroes venturing off to the UW to rescue our favorite pirate! Emma will go to hell and back to be with her true love and the heroes will be there beside her! We know this from the 5B spoilers. YAY!
2. Killian will sacrifice himself. This is speculative, but based on the spoilers it seems damn likely. We know there is a musical theme called “sacrifice” and why would the heroes head to the UW to rescue DO!Hook? Answer: he redeems himself! Either it is a long con or in the final moments Killian comes out of his DO trance to do the right thing!
3. Snow in the Sneak Peek! We know Snow defended Emma’s decision to save Killian and in the sneak peek she reminds Emma of their love! Awwww the feels!
4. Despite being crazy evil (or seeming evil depending on where you stand on the long con theory) we know that Killian let Rumple have Excalibur and he fixed his limp; one of the reasons he said he was angry with Rumple was for filling Emma with darkness; and he stopped Merida from physically harming Emma.
5. Recent spoilers confirm Emma will meet Milah – I’m actually pretty excited to see this interaction and learn more about Milah. I doubt there will be a weird love triangle based on the spoilers we have seen and I think this will be good for a few characters to get some closure.
6. Papa hook!
7. No more Dark Swan! Regardless of Dark Hook/ Captain Dark One’s fate, we know Emma will be back to her savoir self and in the infamous red jacket!
8. Baby Killian was cast and he is adorable!
9. Colin was filming with the actor they cast to play Hades… God I can’t wait for the snark!
10. A&E said if you like CS to keep watching! Emma is the lead so of course they can’t have her getting a TL kiss with Killian right away. For dramatic effect it needs to have some bumps in the road, but these two are end game. period.
Okay those are my top 10 things I am feeling positive about. What are your top ten?

ParticipantI’ve really enjoyed this season, I know there has been lots of fluffy feels for CS, but the stuff I’ve enjoyed most were the less fluffy scenes. My God I am loving Dark Hook. I have watched ‘Birth’ and ‘Broken Heart’ so many times. He knows how to hurt and does it so well. More Dark Hook I say, but I have a feeling he won’t last (in Darkness form at least) beyond Sunday night. I’m not really digging on the constant pursuit for revenge on Rumple still, but damn it makes for some good scene between them. But I guess if you don’t take things at face value (Dark One tricks, Dark One lies) end game may become more apparent.
Wow Hook really took to magic like a duck to water. Especially for someone who never liked magic. I’m quite optimistic about things though. I love angst and heartbreak (I’m an angst junkie, the more the better). I’m not worried for Emma and Hook. Drama happens, they’ll work it out. I know there will be a lot of regret once the Darkness is destroyed and they all survive. They have to survive the Underworld first. There is always a crisis to deal with 🙂
I do find it weird that Dark Hook didn’t go all sparkly. Esp when he crushed Merlin’s heart. The only thing I can think of is that Hook has been dark before so the Darkness didn’t need to manifest on the outside.
Poor Emma is so distraught. I just want to give her a good hug. She was caught between a rock and a hard place. Finally talking about her future and not being afraid, so of course something terrible was going to happen to threaten that. There seems to be a pattern, if Emma is happy Regina can’t be and vice versa. I would have saved Hook too. And if she hadn’t lied to him about not having Excalibur and trusted him, he may not have given in to the Darkness so readily and they could have destroyed the Darkness together.
They’ll work through all this, it’s always darkest just before the dawn. All last season we had glimpses of Hook struggling to stay on the straight and narrow, so darkness is cleary a part of him, making him so susceptible when he’s thrown into a big chunk of Darkness. No one can go from good to evil, from evil to good easily. So this is just a minor hump in his overall redemption. And Emma won’t abandon him as she said.
Anyhoo just a few of my thoughts.

ParticipantOk, I haven’t been here in awhile so let’s see if I remember how to quote and unspoil…
Nope.
Ok, so I really like the top 10 list! And I agree, I love Dark Hook. I really don’t think they utilized Robert Carlyle as the’big bad’ last season, I miss a dramatic Dark One. Colin’s is, naturally, very different than Bobby’s,but both areso much fun to watch. A season of psychopath Dark Hook could awesome, but I agree, I’m guessing it’s short-lived.
