Jared is very happy for Emma and he thinks Hook will be an awesome father figure. That reminds me that they’re going to be step dad/son. 🙂

I liked that Hook chose Henry to be the best man. That was a nice scene.
Both me and my 12-yr old daughter were in tears! It was everything we’d hoped it would be. It was a beautiful, picture perfect fairy tale wedding. I loved Emma’s dress, Killian’s suit, the terrace venue, the colors, everyone happy and singing/dancing afterwards – it was a true celebration. A celebration of not just their love but how much they accomplished, how far they’ve come as a couple. Which is why I wish the series had ended on that happy note, their “new beginning”. It would have been a perfectly satisfying ending, in my opinion.

Funny you mention this….after rewatching the episode, I too felt like it could have been a series finale (assuming they also defeated the Black Fairy in this episode. The end was perfect to sum up the show with everyone there and I just thought the music was so good. It felt like a good episode to close the show on.
And for that matter, the Black Fairy can’t kill Emma. So what kind of final battle could this possibly be? I just feel like I’m going to be let down.
I’ve seen some comments floating on around here and I figure this is the best place for me to say.
So some “special” people like to say that when Hook said that him and Emma were never destined a happy ending unlike SF which was or they’re not true love and that’s meta well lets put a stop to those right now.
First of all in regards to SF being destined…no. They were destined to meet and have Henry and that’s it. And it wasn’t because of fate and true love, no it was because a man-child(Peter Pan) the villain, wanted Henry’s heart, the heart of the truest believer.
Oh and CS was declared TL multiple times in the show through multiple means. It didn’t need TLK, because their relationship was always unique. Hook said it perfectly in the finale. Their love was never pre-destined and were never guaranteed a happy ending but much like Snowing in S1 they won.
Emma and Killian have conquered death and the most powerful darkness for their love.
Emma and Killian have been declared true love multiple times and through many means.
The many times characters brought up the fact that they were true love. Snow, Henry(the biggest believer), Charming, Jasmine, Regina, Emma, Killian, etc.
The true love test in the Underworld.
The flowers in 6×17 that opened the door to reunite them because they share true love.
The fact that during Emma’s curse she had flashes of Killian and the wedding and recognized him in the book. Their love is so strong that it was counteracting a memory curse.
So no it wasn’t meta. It was the truth, CS is a beautiful and unique love story of second chances. Seriously haters so bitter.

Thats kind of a contradictory sentence. You say they weren’t destined to be together but then say they were destined to be together. Neal and Emma never had TLK either but we know their love was true based on the their totem, the swan pendant which survived even the dark curse. Beyond the parallels between (ironically one that you mentioned awhile back when you called Emma a lost girl and Hook a lost boy despite that Neal was the actual Lost boy, or that he’s the child of darkness and she’s the child of light, that fate and destiny brought them together over the course of centuries and had they not then the curse itself would never have been broken at all). Neal and Emma offer a more juicy story that was clearly intentionally planned (you say it’s because of Pan, but remember Pan was not intended to be Rumps father nor the main villain for season 3. that, like Hook’s heightened role in the story, was added in later so the idea they were only mean to be together to have Henry because Pan wanted his heart is pretty strange but whatever helps you accept that Hook and Emma were never pre-planned despite the fact that Hook himself literally said it. You are contridicting yourself by saying it’s not meta but then saying it is). Also, you are citing the words of other characters as a way to confirm Emma and Hook have true love but don’t you recall the times other characters also said similar things about SF? Belle confirming the swan pendant being a product of true love or Neal saying it was fate or destiny that brought them together? Does one count and the other doesn’t?

But then why didn’t TLK never break any of the curses placed on Emma before if that is the case? She has had her memory taken before. And Hook did try to kiss her to break the spell. And then there was the time Hook was cursed and a kiss from the savior let alone a kiss from true love did nothing. I’m just saying. Food for thought. The true love heart test thing would be a good indication if not for the fact that Emma has a heart full of love regardless of Killian simply by way of being the savior. It would have worked no matter what. Had that occurred to any other non savior couple I would have believed but there has be some logic here and Emma’s heart was already shown to be all magical “love is strength” in season 2 so we KNOW tha has nothing to do With hook.
In the SF thread, I said the fact that they weren’t given TLK is very interesting given there have been plenty of opportunities for it and even their wedding could have been written for a kiss to show something magical. It never did. Her death could have been undone by a kiss from Hook. But it wasn’t.
mind you, I’m sure Emma loves Killian. She married him. And I’m sure Hook loves Emma. There is nothing more to him outside of that. But I’m pointing out that showing if their love is supposed to be the same as TL it’s not very consistent with how the show has shown it throughout. Think of all the ways true love has been confirmed (breaking of a curse, pixie dust, TLK,) in terms of that magical True Love, it’s never shown itself between them and they ended it by seemingly not caring to do it. It’s really, very strange. But who knows. That story is over and done now.

It also reminds me of something Snow said to Charming an episode or two ago where she said “Is this about Hook? Charming that ship has sailed and there’s a pirate on it, let it go”. It seems the writers are saying “This wasn’t something that was planned from the start, but we’re here now so just deal” and I agree with that. I think we all do. It’s not a bad thing.

Uh no that’s not what the writers were saying. Not everything has to circle back to your crack ship BB.
The writers were basically saying to all the CS and Hook haters aka you(SF) and SQ shippers that no matter how much you whine, no matter how much you complain, no matter how much you scream about rape culture, and all that good stuff. CS is here to stay and you should just deal with it.
