Participantbut we’re getting close guys for that first sneak peek of 3×01! 2,990,351 8:16 am est. we could get it on Sunday or maybe sometime late today if we get 3 million likes.
also, I don’t know if you guys have been following the sneak peeks for OUAT in Wonderland but the latest one reminded me of Captain Swan.
In the 2nd sneak peek:
Cyrus says to Alice, when you love someone, you don’t need proof. You can feel it.
How does this relate to Captain Swan? Well, when Emma suspected that Tamara was up to no good, Neal didn’t believe her. He thought that she was simply being the jealous ex. Neal even said that he never believed in her lie detecting power but Hook, after knowing Emma only a few minutes in Enchanted Forest, believed in her lying detecting superpower.

Unless there’s a sudden frenzy of liking the page, we’re not going to get it by tomorrow (mathematically speaking anyway!)

I never even thought of that when I watched it. Good catch obisgirl!
What gets me about the scene between Emma and Neal was that when he said he didn’t believe in her power, she said “Yeah, you did.” Why would he even lie and say he didn’t? It still confuses me as to why he would lie even though I’ve watched season 2 like 10 times at least.
I still get so annoyed that he didn’t believe in her, too, it really makes me think less of him as a character. The fact that up until he fell through the portal he defended Tamara to the last… just ugh! And then to suddenly say to Emma that he loved her! Talk about not knowing your own mind.
And then there’s the Hook thing. While she can tell when he’s lying to her, he can do the same. “Why are you REALLY doing this?” I think that says a lot. They’re both unable to lie to the other without the other knowing and that has to be a rare thing.

ParticipantNeal said that he didn’t believe in Emma’s superpower in front of Henry. Awkward.

Sept 22 is the last Sunday before the season 3 premiere, so this is really awesome timing 🙂

Never thought about it before but it totally undermines her. Jeez. Although, she did tell Henry that he was a thief/a bad man etc. But still. He was! Hehe.
That’s another thing. He’s a bit of a judgemental person from what we’ve seen so far. He’s always getting on to his dad for doing the wrong thing/killing people (which is, to be fair, true) BUT he should get off his high horse. He spent his adult life stealing things, things that could have meant a huge loss of revenue for a shop (20,000 in watches for example) and which could have meant the difference between hiring someone/letting someone go. Not that it’s as bad as killing, but thieving is still wrong, a fact that Emma herself accepted and she changed her life. Now, maybe Neal has changed his life too and isn’t thieving anymore. But he is still quite “judgey” about his dad, despite having made wrong choices as well.

Looks good! Keep thinking I should join Tumblr but I have no idea how to make all those things!

ParticipantPhee came up with a beautiful idea in regards to Hook in the SwanFire thread.

I was thinking the other day, considering spoilers I think Hook will be forced to realize pretty early on in 3×01 that he has feelings for Emma.

ParticipantOk, not sure what the etiquette is with regards to rebuttal (if someone could let me know? lol), but will post my replies to Phee’s theory here since PoM brought it up here!
Hook is gonna get another chance to give Bae his family back. He’s gonna get another chance to show Bae, and himself, that yes, he can change, that he’s not just always out for himself. He screwed it up royally that night on the ship, but he’s gonna get a do over.
While I agree with this to some extent, I believe that the fact that Hook has unselfishly decided to help the rest of the JR6 to get Henry back is his way of honouring Bae AND shows a great capacity for change on his part. I don’t think Nealfire could demand any more than that. And I honestly don’t think Hook screwed up royally that night on the JR with Bae, I believe that Bae was equally at fault there. Although I admit Hook shouldn’t have gotten the Lost Boys to take him away. Bae was extremely stubborn, and completely disregarded the fact that Hook said “Yes. I DID.” with regards to wanting to get his revenge. Bae didn’t give Hook a chance, (despite Hook attempting, more than once, to reason with him) and in doing so became the (emotional) coward his father was. Bae set out to hurt Hook with his words, admittedly because he was hurting himself.
Neal won’t buy it at first, because he has no reason to automatically believe in Hook, actually quite the opposite. If Hook is anywhere near Emma in any capacity, romantically intended or not, Neal isn’t gonna like that. Hook will have to put in a concerted effort to change the kid’s mind this time.
First of all, Baelfire is most certainly NOT a kid anymore, and is comparable in age to Hook himself. And second of all, why should Hook have to put in any concerted effort? He’s volunteered his services to retrieve Neals son, despite the fact that he HATES Neverland, HATES Rumplestilskin and there is no clear path out of that land. I think that if Neal were to ask any more than that, it would be selfish. Hook repeatedly tried to make amends with Bae on the JR, and if in 300 years Neal hasn’t thought about that and regretted some of his words/actions to Hook, I would think less of him as a character.
“A man unwilling to fight for what he wants, deserves what he gets.” Hook wants to make amends with Bae, and become a better, less selfish man. Him not interfering with SF sorting their stuff out and ultimately getting back together wouldn’t be a sign of weakness, it would be a sign of growth, a sign of love, and “love is strength”. Eventually, Neal will see and accept Hook, when it’s evident that he truly doesn’t intend to try and come between him and Emma like Neal expects. Then I envision an exchange like this… Neal: I didn’t think you’d ever be able to change.
Hook: Thank you, for reminding me what I should have been about all along.I too believe that Hook, when he sees that there are unresolved issues with SF, will step aside for a while to allow them to be together/get closure. But IMO, the SF relationship will not work.
Also , I don’t see why Neal would say that to Hook. He knew Hook for like a week at most. And in that week, Hook showed a genuine caring for him, and, I say again, REPEATEDLY gave Bae the chance to become part of his “family”. If Neal looks back on that week, he’d be able to see that Hook was on the knife’s edge of changing for the better and that Bae himself RUINED that.
And why would Hook say that to Neal? He’s basically already said that to Emma.
Writing an all out, emotionally overwrought, fully involved love triangle between these 3 would only serve to cause momentary drama that would result in people being hurt and would ensure that the CaptainFire relationship could never be healed. And this show is supposed to be about hope, and I believe that K&H care about their characters in a way that they wouldn’t want them to endure a juvenile love triangle.
Agreed. I think the Once fandom want everyone to be happy at the end, no matter who you ship.
The backstory they’ve written where they showed Hook failing Bae, is the perfect setup for a redemption arc.
But they did just that, within that very same episode, I believe. Hook went back to help Henry, Bae’s son, and also for Emma. I would think that Hooks actions at the end of 2×22 are redemption enough for his failing of Bae. He’s obviously going to waiver between the good and bad parts of himself for a while, but I believe he needs to love again, and who better than Emma?
Obviously, I can’t actually get inside K&H’s heads to know their thought process, all I can say is what makes sense in my own head. But I think that the natural progression of the story that they’ve already been telling, would be for Hook to become emotionally close with Emma, perhaps even become tempted in a romantic sense, but acknowledge that ultimately, he loves her as a friend, and wants to have a similar relationship with Neal.
Ugh I seriously don’t believe he could ever love her as just a friend. You can’t be “just friends” with someone you have a connection like that with, and with whom you have potent chemistry. And then there’s the quote from Eddy: “He has set his sights on her”. That to me indicates that Hook is going to fight for her. And why shouldn’t he? He, too, deserves happiness, and I don’t see him getting it with anyone else other than Emma.
I think that this season Hook and Emma are going to flit around each other, with Hook pushing her bit by bit. Then Neal will come back into the equation and Hook will let SF have their moment. But then, when he realises that it’s not working between them, he will start to fight for her again, and ultimately they will get together, be TL. All these Snowing parallels can’t be for nothing. I just CANNOT see a future for Swanfire because Neal is an emotional coward, he admitted as much, and what Emma needs more than anything else is surety/trust in her personal relationships.
Phew. I’m done! *takes shipper goggles off*
