This is just a suggestion but can we keep conversation like the one above localized to the CSF thread? Practically speaking, not ever SF shipper comes to read the CS thread and I’m sure they’d want to comment. Also, the individual shipping threads are supposed to be a happy place to share pictures, videos, fanfiction, and in general “why I ship *insert ship name*” and not negative “I don’t like *insert name of another character* because of XYZ” That’s why we started the CSF thread. And in my most recent posting over there I suggested that we all take one or two steps back and regroup. Everyone’s getting frustrated and we’re going in circles over something the ships will probably never agree on. Like I said, just a suggestion.

Lol not really. Like I’ve said, Neal was in love with Emma and he betrayed her. Hook was not.
So Neal doing what he did, even though he didn’t want to, in order to help Emma achieve her destiny and find her family is unacceptable yet Hook screwing Emma over to get what he wanted because he didn’t love her is?
I would like him to apologise to Belle too. But in fairness to Hook, Belle was the only weakness the Dark One had that could be used against him, until Rumple left SB and didn’t have magic anymore. And also, we can’t forget that Rumple very cruelly murdered Milah (I don’t like Milah, but Jeez what a horrific death), and his servant (and countless others), so his treatment of women isn’t the best either!
So by the playground logic of “he started it, he did it first”, Hook was justified in causing Belle’s personality to be erased, leaving her frightened and not knowing who she was. By that logic, Rumple was justified doing what he did to Hook by killing Milah since Hook “started it”. Rumple’s no saint but his treatment of women in general has been a lot more respectful than Hook’s has been.
I think he is a good guy underneath it all. He was nasty to people because that’s what was expected of him, so he gave it to them. “You reap what you sow”. If you expect the worst from people you’ll get it. And the innuendo-spouting is his way of protecting himself IMO, much like Emma’s walls.
Hook was nasty to Belle and was going to kill her in QoH just because she was of no use to him. She had only just met him so she didn’t expect the worst of him to warrant that. Hook ripped out Aurora’s heart so that he could bribe his way into Cora’s good graces again. Hook has no issue about causing harm to innocents if they stand in his way.
It’s unfair to make out like Hook can do no wrong because it’s everybody’s else’s fault he does what he does. That’s almost like saying that it’s Snow’s fault that Regina became the evil Queen, slaughtering entire villages, because Snow told Cora about Daniel.

Keeper of FelixI agree with a lot of that POM, though while I agree she did not deserve to lose her memory, I could see Hook feeling like she was supporting the monster and deserved what she got for choosing him, bit of mobster wife syndrome. I would like to see that he regrets that act eventually though, because Belle did not support Rumple’s evil ways and in fact, was encouraging Rumple to be better, which Hook should have seen. Though in Hook’s defense, its hard to really register subtleties like this when he was being beaten with a cane.
Anyway, I think Hook might come to realize he made a mistake with Belle, as he feels he is changing with Emma, and then realize the parallel there and regret his actions with Belle, Hopper and others.

So long as Hook does genuinely apologise to Belle, or at least shows regrets over his actions towards her, then I may warm up to CaptainSwan a bit more.

Ok obisgirl, LOVED the post. But I have a couple of questions, hopefully you have the answer to! 🙂
1. Do we definitively know that Hooks scarf was in Emma’s desk? I looked at it really hard several times to try and confirm it but couldn’t seem to. If you have anything that resembles proof that would be great!
2. Do you really think Rumple wanted Hook to stay alive for Emma? I mean, in the present day he is a total SF shipper lol. And then there’s the fact that he wanted him to suffer like he did.
