ParticipantIf you check out this gif set here, specifically, the last one in the set because the image is lighter. Hook’s hook is actually lying on top of the scarf. That’s the black thing. The drawer is underneath.
As for Rumple wanting Hook alive long enough? Read this meta post.

I admit it does seem to be the scarf. I just wish we could see a frayed edge or something, like we do when he’s bandaging her hand. And if it’s not the scarf what else could it be? Ok lol, i’ve just convinced myself haha (most of the credit to you though!)

Wow. I had never considered it that way before. Wow. A+E are just incredible.
BUT how do you explain that it appears that Rumple fully intended to rip out Hooks heart before Milah stopped him? And also, while it appears that Rumple WAS goading Hook into “living long enough”, how did he think he was going to do that without the bean? Rumple thought he had the bean, he was furious when he found out he didn’t have it.

You mean during the second round of the duel? Because that was not on Hook’s ship. I’m talking about the final confrontation on Hook’s ship.

Dark One Rumple in the Crocodile hasn’t thought of creating the curse yet. I don’t think. There was no mention of it.

Yes, the duel in the alley where Rumple beat Hook. He was going to rip out his heart until Milah said “stop!”. If he was intending to leave Hook alive then why was he going to do that?

Sorry I should have clarified my thoughts better, I meant that if Rumple knew that he was going to need Hook for levarage 300+ years in the future to find his son, how did he expect Hook would do that if he didn’t keep the bean and travel to Neverland? Like Rumple said: “only the Dark One has life eternal”.

I probably will when there’s more material to discuss. But i’m keeping up with it and might chime in every so often. You’re defending CS very well though Hookian, kudos to you! 🙂

ParticipantI think I’m staying clear of the other thread for now too. I will lurk about and add points when necessary though.

ParticipantMaybe a pro and con list should be done for CS and SF.
Hook
Pro: He went back to save Emma and the town
Con: He left Emma in Rumple’s cell to rot.
Pro: Hook wouldn’t have betrayed Emma at the top of the beanstalk
Con: He partnered up with Cora and could’ve prevented Emma getting back to Henry.Neal
Pro: He wanted Emma to have her best chance at finding her family
Con: Emma has trust issues, partly caused by his actions.
Pro: He’s a great father to Henry, so much so, Emma was willing to send Henry to Manhattan with him
Con: His fiancée was a psycho and may have kidnapped Henry in ManhattanA factual pro and con list could give a more balanced approach.

We as the audience understand this, but do you think 18 year old Emma would understand this? Probably not.
Pinocchio split a long time ago to go gods knows where, no one was really around to explain to her about her destiny. And Neal, being from Enchanted Forest, probably would have been one of the best people to explain it to her since he was from there. But again, he split and allowed August to call the cops on her and get arrested.

Again, these trust issues go back to Neal. The last time Emma was involved in a crime duo was with Neal and they were a pretty good team (at crime); as Hook pointed out to Emma, they make a really good team but the scars of what Neal did were too deep and she left Hook atop the beanstalk but she let him live.
Hook was hurt that she left him and made sure Emma knew that she hurt him, and if she had trusted him, Hook probably would have helped Emma the princesses defeat Cora instead of hooking up with her.

ParticipantHow exactly was Neal supposed to explain Emma’s destiny to her without her thinking him crazy?
