Yes – I’m so happy that it seems we’re getting Charming Hook bromance! 🙂 Yeeeeeeeaah!!!
And I’m totally looking forward to Emmas promo poster! I hope it gives us some kind of spoiler for season 3…

*spoilers ahead, stop reading now if you don’t want to be spoiled*
“Including Emma, who softens (a bit) to Hook’s charms. Although Horowitz is quick to caution that it won’t be smooth sailing for that particular ‘ship. “The whole ‘ship thing is an awesome thing fans bring to the experience of watching a show, but the story we’re telling encompasses the relationships between all the characters — and the bigger emotional story as well.” Although Kitsis adds, “They think Neal’s dead, and Hook is a man who obviously likes ladies. And as we saw last year when they climbed the beanstalk, Emma has captured his heart a little bit, but Neal is fighting like hell to get a second chance with her … although Emma is focused on Henry [and] her heart has been broken too many times to worry about dating right now. But we’ll see, she’s got two handsome guys!”
Okay.
It won’t be smooth sailing for that particular ‘ship.
First of all, that sentence right there COMPLETELY rules out a casual no-strings affair between Captain Swan. Now we CS shippers already knew that, but some SF/SQ shippers are stubbornly holding on to the idea.
Secondly, Adam is emphasising that it’s going to be a struggle. And what does that bring to mind?
“A man who doesn’t fight for what he wants deserves what he gets.”
Now, if we look at the promo, we hear Charming saying:
“True love isn’t easy. But it must be fought for.”
Basically setting the tone for the whole season.
And you know who else hadn’t a smooth-sailing relationship? Snowing and Rumbelle. Parallels between these three relationships have been mentioned before.
Now I know what Adam says, that Neal is fighting for a second chance.

But what’s important about this comment is that it was said in relation to Captain Swan. What i’m getting from that is that Neal will be a barrier to the Captain Swan ‘ship. Hence the not-so-smooth sailing.
Also it’s important to note that Adam didn’t say, “he’s fighting like hell to get back to her” but that he’s fighting for a second chance WITH her. That indicates to me that Emma won’t be at all receptive to him at first.
On a similar note, @obisgirl, what i said before, about Hook stepping back for Neal? I don’t think he will anymore, so I agree with you! 😉 The more I thought about it the more I realised that it wouldn’t make sense for where his character is going. In 2×22, he chose the future, he chose hope, and if he stepped back for Bae, that would be choosing the past, choosing Milah, which would completely be at odds with him choosing to come back for Emma.

Neal was the reason Emma had to give up her baby, and Killian is the one who’s going to help her find her baby again.
Of course, the latter is only speculation but it would make for an epic Captain Swan romance down the road, or at least the beginnings of one.

Actually, yes, I would agree actions speak louder than words. I’m thinking about Hook coming back in the finale. Remember how we got a wide shot first and then the camera zoomed in on Emma’s face?

Actions are DEFINITELY more important to Emma than words. Remember Emma said that to MM at some stage about David? Something about “it’s one thing to say that he wants you, another to actually choose”.
