Thank you, sweetgrass. CaptainSwan is starting to appeal to me more, though SwanFire does have its moments. I think that if the triangle isn’t resolved this season, then it will be a series long thing.

I really hope it is resolved this season to give the odd man out a chance to find some one else and have an epic love story as well.

6. Emma talks to Charming. Emma is upset, and fears that she has “messed everything up”. Charming comforts Emma and asks her what SHE wants. Emma says she doesn’t know except that she wants Henry to be happy. Charming tells her that Henry will be happy if she’s happy, Henry wouldn’t want her to be miserable for his sake.

I sincerely hope that this the case in the show.  I know, Henry wants his parents to have a happy ending together but that’s really for more benefit than Emma’s.

I actually wouldn’t put it past the writers to end the series with Emma faced with a choice between Hook and Neal. We never get to see who she chooses but then everybody would be happy. CSers can believe she chose Hook, whilst SFers can believe she chose Neal.

I hope the love triangle gets resolved before the series end.  I think A&E said they have material for five series, and I would hope at least by season four, we have a good idea where Emma’s happy ending’s going to be with. The scenario you present would be even more disappointing if the series is cancelled before Emma makes her choice known.

@PoM – your theories are of course very possible, but there’s one thing I disagree with that could completely upset them haha. It’s the fact that I don’t think Killian will step down for Neal. Now, I DO believe there will be a cooling off period for CS when Neal comes back into the picture, because Emma will completely shut down, citing Henry as the priority etc and Killian will obviously be feeling shock and guilt. But there is NO WAY Emma will just run into Neal’s arms. I think that when Killian sees her shutting down he will go back to beating down her walls lol. Because (even though he had a relationship with Baelfire) Bae is no longer a child and has already made mistakes with this woman. Killian will fight for her because he KNOWS how precious his second (and last) chance for a Happy Ending is, having lost love before. And this premise of Killian fighting for her has already been set up – “A man unwilling to fight for what he wants deserves what he gets”.

I too think the triangle will be resolved sooner rather than later. They won’t leave the ending open. Specifically because, once Emma makes her choice, there will still be issues, things to sort through. The hardest thing about TL is staying together, as we have already seen with Snowing/Rumbelle. The entire premise of the show is that TL must be fought for – so we’re going to be seeing some of that. I actually think it’ll be far less of a triangle than the media are hyping it up to be. I have confidence that Emma will make her choice fairly quickly, hopefully by the end of S4 lol, and I think that she will choose Captain Hook.

As for Neal, I think his character arc is going in a different direction. He obviously has issues with his father that need to be worked out and he needs to get to know his son (and get over Tamara) before he can even think of romance again. I also think there is a danger that he will follow in Rumple’s footsteps. Ginny recently tweeted a picture of him calling him Voldemort Junior that I hopelessly failed at not overanalysing lol, but I think it’s entirely possible that he will go that route. Especially because he will be using magic to return to Emma, but as we know “all magic comes with a price”.

But i’m delighted to hear that you’re more open-minded to Captain Swan! I’ve noticed more people becoming open to the idea just in the last week after 3×01. I have a feeling the CS ship will be huge by mid-season 😉

I agree.  I think Neal needs to focus on himself, the issues he has with his father before he can even focus on a romance with Emma.  He has a lot of stuff to work through before father and son reunite.

I also don’t see Hook stepping aside once there’s a reunion.  The only time I see him doing that is when Emma asks him too, which even then I expect him to fight her on that too until eventually he’ll respect her wishes.

For me, how Hook behaves can affect whether or not I ship him with Emma. When he’s being like he was in 301 or Tallahassee, I like CaptainSwan but when he’s being horrible to Rumple and Belle (my two favourite characters) I don’t like him as much. I do think he needs to sincerely apologise to Belle though. She didn’t deserve what he put her through.

I would love to see some Henry/Hook moments.

@PoM I totally think it could play out that way. I’m certain that Emma “won’t go run into Neals arms” but she will be very unsure and confused and may try having a relationship with Neal again, especially because she wants to make Henry happy. But I think she’ll decide to go back to Killian because she really loves him and her love for Neal is in the past and she knows it now – after getting back together with Neal and it didn’t work. And I think they will resolve this in the series – well, I hope they do.

I am a pretty big Hook fan; he’s my favorite.  I can see him giving Emma space to sort out her feelings for Bae, but if he senses that Emma is not happy with Bae, he will be more than happy to step in.  Whatever happens I don’t want to see Hook become too dark or wallowing in self-pity.  His lifestory is pretty tragic and would get too heavy without  his humor.  I see Hook as a Byronic (anti) hero, but his humor and zest keeps him from becoming like Heathcliff (Wurthering Heights) and makes him entertaining.

As much as it pains me to say this (Belle is my least favorite character), Hook does need to apologize to Belle.  He also needs to apologize to Archie, who I like.  I could see Archie offering counseling sessions and Hook saying no thanks.    I don’t see Hook apologizing to Rummple though.  I like Rumple but he has done Hook way more wrong than the other way arround.

@PoM – I do believe that Killian needs to apologise to Belle, she was an innocent party (although I don’t think Killian saw it that way). I don’t mind him being horrible to Rumple though (and he’s one of my fave’s too!) because Rumple did, after all, kill his love right in front of him.

@sweetgrass – space is not what Emma needs in my opinion 🙂 She needs reassurance. She may want space, but ultimately it’s not what she needs. Lol.

I personally don’t think Emma would ever ask him to do that 🙂 She’s been abandoned so many times that I just couldn’t see her asking someone she cared about to leave her alone.

She needs to be aggressively persued, because while she probably won’t outright tell Neal or Killian to leave her alone, SHE will be the one doing all the running away from them, emotionally. The only question is, who will follow (spoiler: Killian). She needs to be shown over and over and over again that she is loved and that that person won’t EVER leave her, no matter the circumstance. Neal has already distanced himself physically from her (under the guise of love and finding her fate/family but was really too afraid of his father) and emotionally from her (by moving on and being genuinely in love with Tamara). I don’t believe she will ever be able to trust that he won’t do that again.

Killian has been created to be her perfect match. It’s already been shown that he has, I believe, to hold the GREATEST CAPACITY for love on the entire show, even more than Charming. THAT is what Emma needs, that kind of devotion. God guys, Captain Swan is going to be so great 😀
