ParticipantAlso, found this online about Mulans line to Neal today.
Your belief in love wasn’t strong enough to overcome your fear of rejection
Put that in Hook’s perspective:
Hook’s need for revenge and to save his own skin wasn’t strong enough to overpower his feelings for Emma and his need to be a part of something
THIS SHIP IS SO BEAUTIFUL :'( 😀

ParticipantSo yeah, from the sneak peek…..
We know that Tinkerbell is a big advocate of love, especially second chance love, her and Killian are friends, she has pixie dust…. see where i’m going here? TINKERBELL IS GOING TO TELL KILLIAN TO GO FOR IT WITH EMMA.
Sorry for the shouting. Am quite overwhelmed with feels. 🙂

ParticipantJust had a thought. Neal and Emma hadn’t seen each other for eleven years before Manhattan, then when they were in Storybrooke they didn’t really spend that much time with each other. Neal was engaged to Tamara and did love her, yet he said “I love you” to Emma as soon as Tamara betrayed him as if he always felt that way.
Whilst it could be said that Neal DID love Emma, it could be argued that the Emma Neal loved was the one he left eleven years ago. Unfortunately for Neal, Emma is not that girl anymore. Emma may have said “I love you” back at Neal, but as Lost Girl showed, Emma says things in emotionally charged moments that she wouldn’t say under normal circumstances. In that moment, Emma may have felt like that girl again when she was about to lose Neal all over again.
Hook sees Emma for the person she is now, not the girl she was eleven years ago.

Yep, couldn’t agree more. Emma was irrevocably changed by his actions. Therefore she is not the same person. I find it hard to believe that they could still be romantically in love with each other. Love each other, sure. But IN love? No.
Yes you’re not the only one who found it weird that he told Emma that. I’m finding myself quite shocked at his current behaviour actually. All of a sudden he NEEDS to get back to Emma, because he loves her, and yet, he had his chance to do that the minute he got the postcard but was too cowardly. True Love conquers all, even fear. This just further proves to me that what Neal and Emma had was a very immature, shallow love. When did we EVER see them having an emotionally deep moment? The best I can think of is their “home” conversation. But that wasn’t really very deep to me.
The Neverland theme, and particularly Barrie’s Neverland, which we know is a story Eddy loves, is/was all about growing up. Emma’s going to leave behind the orphan and her immature love for Neal and “grow up” with Killian, JUST like Barrie’s version.

Yep, spot on again! Couldn’t agree more, that’s exactly what I believe too 😉 That moment was actually mirroring the one in Tallahassee, where Neal was going to leave Emma to go to Canada to escape being imprisoned. She told him “I love you” and he said “I love you too”, and yet he eventually left her anyway. Doesn’t that sound familiar? Funny how Emma always has to say “I love you” first isn’t it? And, you betcha, KILLIAN will be the one to say it to HER first, this time around. And it’s going to happen this season.
I honestly can’t remember if I had a life before this OTP.

ParticipantSo Adam finally confirmed that Hook and Milah were never married.
I have a question brought up by the Once Upon a Time Season 2 DVD set. Were Milah and Killian actually married, making him Henry’s step-grandfather? –Rita
No, that confusion is the result of a mistake made during the production of a DVD featurette. Series cocreator Adam Horowitz confirms, “As far as show ‘canon’ is concerned, Hook and Milah were never married.” (Glad to have that hot potato off my desk!)Also, my first meta reaction for 3×02

ParticipantIt’s interesting to me that Hook has a tattoo of Milah and Emma wears Graham’s shoelaces. They both carry reminders of the ones they love.
Keeper of Hook and Emma's smoldering first kiss, a certain Pirate's sauciness, the Evil Queen's snarkiness, Grumpy's gruffness and a drop of true love to make it all go down smooth.

Very good 🙂
Read your meta obisgirl – yep great insight. “It will be really nice to hear Emma tell someone (Hook) that she loves him without the pretense of a life or death situation.” Yes, it WILL be nice when Emma doesn’t have to tell Killian she loves him to keep him from abandoning her.
It’s interesting to me that Hook has a tattoo of Milah and Emma wears Graham’s shoelaces. They both carry reminders of the ones they love.
And Emma kept Neal’s keychain and Killian’s scarf, and Killian kept Bae’s sword and the picture of Milah for centuries. Both seem to keep items that have both positive and negative associations with them.
Also interesting to note:
Emma handed Neal back the keychain, the chain that reminded her not to trust.
Emma kept Killian’s scarf, as a reminder to start trusting again. Because she had clearly regretted what had happened between them at the top of the beanstalk, it was ALL to do with her lack of trust, and she knew that she had hurt both Killian and herself badly due to that.
Just found that interesting when I thought about it.
